"Okay, I agree," said Leng Xuan, determined to prevent Xiao Yun from delivering als to him any longer. He agreed readily, but what he didn’t realize was that his well-ant decision had already deeply hurt Xiao Yun’s heart.

Xiao Yun had overheard the conversation between Li ngjie and Leng Xuan that morning. In her opinion, if Leng Xuan really cared for her, he would not have accepted Li ngjie’s unreasonable demands. ’Just let her speak her mind. What’s there to fear? After all, you like and I like you. Even if we’ve slept together, it’s perfectly normal. We haven’t even reached that point yet, so why feel guilty or fear exposure?’

Thinking back to how Leng Xuan had shielded her from the rain with his clothes and had been willing to fall out with Ling Xuejiu for her sake, Xiao Yun felt that Leng Xuan must have liked her before too. But Li ngjie was just too much better than she was—more beautiful, with a better figure, tall, and from a much more prominent family. How could she compete? Leng Xuan must have shifted his affections because of these reasons.

At first, Xiao Yun wasn’t certain of her thoughts, so she pretended to ignore Leng Xuan intentionally, hoping that he would comfort her. But, far from comforting her, Leng Xuan actually suggested to Ling Xuejiu that she should stop delivering his als. It seed kind on the surface, but actually, it ant that he didn’t want to see her anymore.

Having endured a life of hardship, Xiao Yun had developed a habit of bearing things silently. She wasn’t much of a talker, but she was observant and her inner world was much richer and more sensitive than most people’s. That’s why the more she thought about it, the sadder she beca, and tears started to fall unconsciously, dropping into the bowl. She quickly stood up, turned around, and said softly, "Enjoy your al, I’m full. I... I’m off to school now." Then she left without looking back.

"Xiao Yun, wait, take the car!" Ling Xuejiu called out.

Xiao Yun didn’t turn her head as she responded, "No, Sister Xue, I need to take my electric bike back."

"What’s wrong with Xiao Yun?" Ling Xuejiu asked, puzzled, yet she could sense sothing from Xiao Yun’s sour tone.

Li ngjie glanced at Leng Xuan unintentionally. Although she felt sympathy for Xiao Yun’s circumstances, her inner sourness when she saw the close scene between Leng Xuan and Xiao Yun that morning was undeniable. Now that Xiao Yun had left, she couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. But almost imdiately, she wondered, ’What’s wrong with ? Why am I relieved that Xiao Yun has gone? Could it be that I... I’ve actually fallen for this poor guy...’ Just thinking of it made her cheeks flush as she looked at Leng Xuan’s increasingly agreeable face and buried her head in her noodles, all the while telling herself in her heart, ’No way, absolutely not. How could my taste be that bad...’

After Leng Xuan finished cleaning up the dishes, Ling Xuejiu and Li ngjie left the house, each in their own clothes.

Outside the villa, Ling Xuejiu saw Leng Xuan coming out and took out a car key from her little purse to hand to him. This was as Elder Ling had instructed the night before. She thought of her grandfather’s words ’You’ve gotten a driver for free’ and couldn’t help but want to laugh. She was about to give Leng Xuan the key when Li ngjie tossed her Ferrari’s keys to him and said with a smile, "Hey, Cold Bodyguard, you won’t refuse to drive today, right? You know, it’s hard to find a cab so early in the morning." I know many of you are reading on your phones, but my collection is too small. Alas, you don’t know, for writing this book, I’m losing sleep every day. I went to bed at 10 pm last night and only managed to fall asleep at 8 am, rushing to get up at 8:30 am to continue writing. I’m serious about ensuring both quality and speed. Wuu, have so pity and add this to your collection, haha...
