Leng Xuan was an insider, so he naturally understood that training an assassin was no easy task. Even the most worthless assassin wouldn’t just cost a re one million, let alone this girl who even had faint traces of True Qi fluctuation on her, clearly a mber of an Ancient Martial Arts Family or a Cultivator Clan. Such an assassin would naturally be even more valuable.
Qi Yue gritted her teeth and said, "This was my first mission, and I failed. Therefore, I can’t get the two million reward. It’s still with my mom. All my savings added up to just about one million. If you want it, I can give you that one million, as long as you let go."
Leng Xuan uttered an "Oh", his face showing indifference as he said, "Then give your mom’s phone number!"
"What?" Qi Yue was taken aback. Did this guy intend to use her to threaten her mom? The thought was laughable; wasn’t that just seeking death? However, she had another concern. If her mom found out she had failed the mission, and worse, got captivated by soone, how embarrassing would that be? She hesitated, then thought embarrassnt was trivial compared to life or death, and if this guy was seeking death, then let him threaten her mom. She imdiately reported Uncle Guan’s number, saying, "This isn’t my mom’s number, but it’s the sa if you call him."
Leng Xuan did not expect this number to be from abroad. He gave Qi Yue a strange look; although she was still wearing a mask and Leng Xuan couldn’t see her face, he could see a dismissive look in her eyes and vaguely guessed that although the girl was an assassin, her family must be complicated and not easy to provoke. However, he was in need of money at the mont, and it would be a missed opportunity not to take advantage of it, so without hesitation, he dialed Uncle Guan’s number and asked Qi Yue, "What’s your na?"
Qi Yue said, "Qi Yue, Xia Qi Yue!"
A mont later, the call connected and the authoritative voice of a middle-aged man ca through, perhaps aware that the call was dostic, he spoke in very standard Mandarin, "Hello, who is this?"
Leng Xuan replied indifferently, "You’re Uncle Guan?"
"Yes, I am!" Uncle Guan said, "Who are you?"
Leng Xuan said, "Soone looking to do business!"
"Oh?" Uncle Guan, being a middleman in the organization, often acted as a communicator between those willing to pay and the assassins. Hearing this, he politely chuckled and said, "May I know how to address you?"
"Surna Leng!" Leng Xuan said.
"So it’s Mr. Leng!" Uncle Guan said, "May I know what business you are looking to discuss?"
Leng Xuan smiled and said, "A business of saving soone!"
"Hmm?" Uncle Guan’s voice seed displeased as he said flatly, "Mr. Leng, I think you’ve got the wrong person."
"What? Your place only takes care of killing, not saving?" Leng Xuan said with a candid smile while touching his nose, "If that’s the case, then you’d better prepare a coffin for Xia Qi Yue."
"What?" Uncle Guan seed surprised upon hearing this, but his composure was obviously much stronger than an average person’s. In a mont, he chuckled and said, "You’re not joking with , are you? Qi Yue is in your hands?" Uncle Guan usually referred to Qi Yue as Miss Qi, but since the other party was after money, he intentionally sounded very detached, as if he didn’t really care about the person’s life or death.
