Leng Xuan had been house hunting with Zhao Xiaoqing for nearly an hour, and it was already past three in the afternoon. Fortunately, they finally found a two-bedroom apartnt in a neighborhood called City Garden. Though it was only a little over seventy square ters, the interior was pretty nice, with white walls, wooden floors, a sofa, refrigerator, air conditioner, and other fully furnished household anities, most of which were relatively new, about eighty or ninety percent new.

The owner of the apartnt was a woman in her thirties, Miss Li, a single woman who often traveled out of town for her foreign trade business. She was seldom ho and wanted to rent out her place, but the price was a bit steep. After talking with the owner for a long while, Zhao Xiaoqing managed to get the rent down to a barely acceptable rate, Two Thousand Yuan a month, paid quarterly.

"Alright, since you’ve decided to rent, let’s sign the contract. Oh, do you have the money with you?" The owner took out a calculator, did so math, and said, "A deposit of five thousand bucks and rent of six thousand for the quarter, that’s eleven thousand in total." She put the calculator down, pulled out a contract she had prepared earlier, and handed it to Zhao Xiaoqing, saying, "You can take a look at the contract first."

Zhao Xiaoqing humd in agreent, glanced at the contract, and said, "There’s no problem with the contract, have you got a pen? I can just sign it now!"

"Hmm, alright. Here’s the pen!" The owner handed a pen to Zhao Xiaoqing.

After signing her na, Zhao Xiaoqing turned to Leng Xuan with a sweet smile and said in a coquettish voice, "Honey, I’ve signed the contract, it’s your turn to pay."

Leng Xuan almost fell over right there and then. What had Zhao Xiaoqing just called him? Honey? Seeing the owner also looking at him, he felt extrely awkward. He really wanted to deny it, but judging by the owner’s expression, it seed unlikely she would believe him. Considering Zhao Xiaoqing was his future business partner, it probably wasn’t too much to cover her rent. He figured once the leisure center was up and running and making money, he could deduct it from her salary later. With these thoughts in mind, he cald down and unconsciously touched his nose, saying, "I didn’t bring that much cash with , didn’t you just get paid today? Front it for now."

Upon hearing Leng Xuan’s words, Zhao Xiaoqing knew he had implicitly agreed to cover her rent and felt an inexplicable sweetness in her heart. She chuckled and said, "Okay, but this is my private money, you know. You have to repay ." While speaking, she took out today’s earnings of ten thousand bucks from her bag and then took out an additional thousand from her wallet, making up the eleven thousand, and handed it all to the owner.

"By the way, Miss Li, can we move in today?" After handing over the money, Zhao Xiaoqing asked the owner.

Leng Xuan broke out in a sweat listening on the side, thinking, ’What does she an "can we move in today?" I never said I’d live with her, right?’ But in front of the owner, it was not easy for him to say anything, so he just stood there silently, frustrated.

The owner just gave Leng Xuan a glance when she heard this but showed no particular reaction. Cohabitation among unmarried young couples was so common it was hardly a surprise to her. She nodded and said, "Yes, you can. Besides these furnishings, I’ve already moved out all my personal things. You can move in anyti."
