Leng Xuan had just entered when Ling Xuejiu glared at him. He really felt a bit depressed. When he returned to his seat, he heard a text ssage alert and took out his phone to look. That’s when he realized, "Ling" must be worried about him. He couldn’t help but smile slightly and texted back, "I’ll call you first next ti."
Seeing the ssage, Ling Xuejiu was really quite infuriated and replied, "Is there even going to be a next ti?"
Looking at the text ssage on his phone, Leng Xuan smiled ruefully. Although the lady was worried about him this ti, he wasn’t angry, but he didn’t know what to say either. Just then, Zhao Xiaotian and Jack ca back to class, and seeing him, Zhao Xiaotian shouted from a distance, "Boss!" and ran over with Jack.
"Boss, why did you skip class again? I thought you weren’t going to show up this morning. Hehe, tell the truth, did you go chasing girls?" Zhao Xiaotian said with a sly grin.
Leng Xuan was speechless. Chasing girls? However, he didn’t want to spread the news about Su Yurou being kidnapped. Smiling, he glared at Zhao Xiaotian and said, "Stop talking nonsense. By the way, did Xu Renjie not co today?"
Jack said, "When I ca to school this morning, I saw Xu Renjie, but he was outside the school and didn’t co in."
"Probably scared of the boss!" Zhao Xiaotian added.
"Oh!" Leng Xuan turned to Jack and asked, "Do you have his number?"
Jack replied, "Yeah, do you want to call him, Boss?"
Leng Xuan nodded and said, "Give it to , I want to talk to him."
Jack responded with an ’Mhm’ and took out his phone to dial Xu Renjie’s number, then handed the phone to Leng Xuan.
Taking the phone, Leng Xuan put it to his ear. After a mont, the call connected, and he heard Xu Renjie saying, "Damn it, Jack, why the hell are you calling ?"
Leng Xuan spoke indifferently, "Xu Renjie, I heard you hired a few delinquents from outside the school to teach a lesson, is that right?"
"Is that you?" Upon recognizing Leng Xuan’s voice, Xu Renjie suddenly felt a bit nervous because he was worried about being retaliated against at school. So, he and his lackeys, Fat Cow Niupeng and Shorty Zhou Qiang, didn’t dare to co to school but hung around outside playing pool. Thinking that Leng Xuan could only call and couldn’t actually harm him over the phone, he mustered his courage and said defiantly, "So what if it is? What are you gonna do, bite ?"
Leng Xuan replied, "Spare the nonsense. Call those delinquents and have them et , at the school gate at noon. I’ll be waiting for you." With that, he hung up the phone.
"Boss, are you serious?" Zhao Xiaotian’s eyes widened in shock. Just yesterday, out of concern that Leng Xuan couldn’t handle so many people alone, Ah-Long threatened him with his sister to extract Leng Xuan’s mobile number, yet he didn’t dare divulge it. Now, to his bewildernt, Leng Xuan was actually arranging to et them. Considering Leng Xuan was doing this to avenge him and Jack, Xiaotian felt uneasy and said, "Boss, I think we should let it be. Those thugs are desperate characters, and we’re here to study; it’s not worth our ti to stoop to their level."
Having followed Xu Renjie for over a year, Jack knew the hoodlums even better than Zhao Xiaotian, aware that they were much more ruthless and frightening. He too was a bit scared and tried to dissuade him, "Yeah, Boss, Xiaotian and I are okay now. Let’s just pretend this never happened." (The power went out early this morning, so I had to run to an internet café to write this, SORRY)
