Looking back, Ning Xin’er had really been quite diligent when it ca to studying. During her ti at the police academy, not wanting others to laugh at her for being a re "flower vase," she had worked hard learning various combat techniques and investigation theories. Her efforts finally paid off, and in less than six months she beca one of the academy’s top students, excelling in every subject. However, upon becoming a police officer, her lack of experience ant that she didn’t stand out—until Su Zhenggang arrived. He found that despite her experience and courage being lacking, her heart was in the right place and she had a ticulous mind. At that mont, Ning Xin’er had just answered a call, only saying "hello" when she heard a quiet "Shh~!" from the other end.
Startled, Ning Xin’er found this strange, and then she heard Su Zhenggang say loudly, "Fine, I can agree to your demands. But, can you let hear my sister’s voice? I want to make sure that you really have kidnapped her!"
"Of course, but I hope you’re not planning any tricks!" a gloomy voice replied.
Ning Xin’er’s face changed; she imdiately understood what was going on. She quickly dialed Chen Fei, who was on duty at the police station. After the call connected, without waiting for a response, she got straight to the point, "Hello, Chen Fei. Quickly check the location of the person on the phone with Captain Su."
Chen Fei was taken aback; even though he didn’t understand what was happening, he sensed the urgency in Ning Xin’er’s voice, responded imdiately, and began searching on the computer...
This was the East City Suburbs, at a construction site of Chunjing Century. The project had been abandoned two years prior due to the bankruptcy of a real estate company stemming from cash flow issues. The surrounding area of the complex was overgrown with weeds as tall as a person’s thigh, and it was usually deserted.
At the mont, two vans were parked at this construction site. In one of the vans, a girl with her hands and feet tied was sitting in the back seat, her mouth and eyes covered with tape and cloth. She made a few nasal sounds, murmuring sothing indistinct. In fact, she was Su Yurou.
Near the vans, aside from a lookout, there were three n casually sitting on the ground smoking. Another young man leaned against the wall, holding a mobile phone, talking to Su Zhenggang.
This young man’s na was Cao Li, a remote cousin of Cao Shaoyi and also one of the core mbers of Cao Shaoyi’s gang, the Pigeon Group. He was the leader of the group responsible for kidnapping Su Yurou.
Asking to confirm the safety of his sister wasn’t an unreasonable request from Su Zhenggang, so Cao Li readily agreed. He walked to one of the vans, opened the back door, and peeled the tape from Su Yurou’s mouth. Before he could speak, she said, "What are you trying to do? Let go imdiately. My brother Zhenggang will not let you off if you don’t."
"Is that so? I’m really scared," Cao Li said with a sneer, placing the phone by Su Yurou’s ear. Then she heard Su Zhenggang’s voice, "Yurou, it’s , your brother Zhenggang. Don’t be afraid, Brother Zhenggang won’t let them harm you."
