"Sis, don’t worry anymore. Leng Xuan has already said that your brother will be able to walk again in about half a month," Zhou Jingpeng said with a smile.

Zhou Li, upon hearing this, was even more excited than Zhou Jingpeng, her eyes reddening and tears swirling in her pupils as she wiped them away while turning to Leng Xuan, "Is that true, Leng Xuan?"

Leng Xuan nodded and replied, "It’s true."

Zhou Li said gratefully, "Thank you," followed by a mix of laughter and tears, "This is really great. Bro, give Mom and Dad a call, too. They’ll be very happy to hear about this!"

Zhou Jingpeng was moved by his sister’s reaction and couldn’t help feeling a bit teary-eyed as he said, "Ai, okay, I’ll call them in a bit. Sis, you go to school with Leng Xuan first, don’t be late!"

Zhou Li gave a soft "Mhm," glanced at Leng Xuan, and they headed out together.

Downstairs, Zhou Li walked with her head down, silent. At this mont, her mind was filled with joy, and she pondered how to repay Leng Xuan. After all, such a debt of gratitude was enormous, and with her prideful nature, she would feel uneasy not returning the favor. After a long reflection, she couldn’t help but recall the tis when Leng Xuan had pretended to be her boyfriend and blushed as she thought to herself, "He claid our relationship was ’an indefinite romantic relationship.’ Was he sincere, or was it a joke?"

"Leng Xuan!" Zhou Li suddenly called out softly.

Leng Xuan asked, "What’s up?"

"Do you..." After biting her lip, Zhou Li mustered a lot of courage before she could look at him and ask, "Do you really like ?"

Leng Xuan paused, puzzled as to why Zhou Li would suddenly ask such a question.

But in that mont of hesitation, Zhou Li’s eyes flashed with disappointnt. In her view, if Leng Xuan truly liked her, he should have imdiately responded with "Yes, I truly like you." But Leng Xuan’s delay had deeply saddened her, and she turned her head away, no longer looking at him.

Leng Xuan indeed felt awkward. Did he like her? The answer was a definite yes, but did he love her? The answer was unknown, because it’s easy to like soone, but difficult to love, especially for soone like him who had loved before.

All he knew was that when he didn’t see Zhou Li, he would often miss her, but when he saw her, he found himself having not too much to say.

Even the rather slow-witted Leng Xuan could tell that Zhou Li might have so affection for him. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have just recently been so grateful to him, only to beco indifferent so swiftly. He didn’t know why, but his heart also ached a mont, and he quickly stepped forward, grabbing Zhou Li’s soft little hand, and asked, "Are you angry?"

Zhou Li felt her face heat up; after all, this was where she lived, and what if the nearby neighbors saw them? She wondered what they might think of her and Leng Xuan, and so she instinctively pulled her hand back and retorted, "If you don’t like , then why are you holding my hand?"

Leng Xuan was taken aback and replied with a wry smile, "Who told you I don’t like you?"

That question was one Zhou Li couldn’t answer. It was just a feeling, a deep sigh escaping her as she said, "Alright then, if you really like , let’s... let’s wait until I get into university."

Leng Xuan touched his nose, wondering where he would be after Zhou Li got into university. However, he didn’t want to pressure the young girl; after a mont of silence, he took out his phone and returned a call to Zhao Xiaotian.
