Chapter 610: Chapter 612: Challenge Chapter 610: Chapter 612: Challenge “Fine…” Xiao Han snorted coldly, then said, “I’ll give you one chance!”
Thump…
After speaking, Xiao Han violently threw Qin Xiaotian out.
When Qin Xiaotian hit the ground, he cried out in pain, constantly rubbing his tailbone.
At that mont, the girl hurried over, helped Qin Xiaotian up from the ground, and said, “Xiao Tian, let’s just let it go, we’ll talk when we get back.”
“No, I must fight it out with him today,” Qin Xiaotian gritted his teeth.
Liu Yiyi gripped Xiao Han’s arm and said, “Xiao Han, let’s go, don’t stoop to his level. I don’t want to see him.”
“Alright!” Xiao Han nodded.
He couldn’t be bothered with Qin Xiaotian anymore, but instead took Liu Yiyi’s hand, and walked away at a leisurely pace. Xiao Han’s indifference only further pricked at Qin Xiaotian’s pride. He clenched his teeth and quickly charged toward Xiao Han.
“To hell with you!” Qin Xiaotian bellowed.
Xiao Han didn’t even glance back, turned around, and swept his leg out, his tiptoe striking Qin Xiaotian’s chest.
Thump…
Qin Xiaotian didn’t have ti to react, or it’s more accurate to say that he didn’t expect Xiao Han to be aware of his charge at all. That kick hit him hard. He fell backward, chest aching, back of his head slamming on the ground, in utter pain. Xiao Han turned to look at Qin Xiaotian and said, “Today, it’s only because Liu Yiyi asked not to settle the score with you that you’re alive. Otherwise, you’d definitely be dead.”
Having said that, Xiao Han turned and walked away.
Qin Xiaotian no longer had the courage to provoke further. He took a deep breath, watched Xiao Han’s retreating figure with cold eyes, and said through gritted teeth, “Bastard, how dare you embarrass in front of a woman, I won’t let this go.”
Liu Yiyi was feeling down, her ice cream had lted, drops of creamy white milk falling.
“What’s wrong?” Xiao Han asked with concern.
“Nothing!” Liu Yiyi shook her head and said, “It’s just a bit frustrating!”
“Silly girl, what are you fussing about?” Xiao Han quickly said with a smile, “Why bother with a bug like Qin Xiaotian?”
“Right!” Liu Yiyi sighed and said, “He’s just a bug, why should I care about him. But, the things he said do exist, I am a girl with a terminal illness, I don’t deserve love, nor do I deserve friendship!”
“Nonsense.” Xiao Han glared at her and said, “Believe , your illness can definitely be cured. With today’s technology, what’s leukemia? Any terminal illness can be cured. Understand?”
“Yes!” Liu Yiyi, holding Xiao Han’s arm, said, “When I get better, I can eat ice cream every day.”
“Yes!” Xiao Han nodded and said, “When you get better, you can eat whatever you want!”
“Yes!” Liu Yiyi nodded and said, “When that happens, I want you to go with .”
“Absolutely no problem!” Xiao Han nodded.
So went the Saturday morning. At noon, Xiao Han took Liu Yiyi back to the Liu family’s villa. The housemaid had prepared lunch for the two. It was a simple al. Liu Yiyi couldn’t eat too much at and could only have so light vegetables. But Xiao Han was a complete carnivore, so the kitchen made him a big steak, which really tasted not bad.
After lunch, Liu Yiyi pulled Xiao Han into her room.
It was Xiao Han’s first ti entering Liu Yiyi’s boudoir. It was a very cozy room, filled with various stuffed toys and dolls, just like any other girl’s room. There was a beautiful princess bed and a princess wardrobe in the room. The wardrobe was filled with high-end dresses that Liu Yiyi had once worn, but now she could no longer wear them. Even if she could wear them, she wouldn’t be able to accompany her father to those social events.
Xiao Han’s mouth curved into a smile: “This room is really pretty.”
“I arranged it myself,” Liu Yiyi said with a giggle.
“Really?” Xiao Han smiled.
The room had a balcony from which one could see an artificial lake not too far away, and the weeping willows swaying in the wind looked like long-haired girls standing by the lake playing with their hair.
Liu Yiyi lay on the bed, biting her red lips, and said, “Xiao Han, could you play a few tunes for ?”
Xiao Han turned his head and glanced at the piano in the corner.
“Of course,” Xiao Han nodded.
“I want to hear ‘Searching for Her’, the one you played at the welco party,” Liu Yiyi quickly said.
In fact, when Liu Yiyi heard that song, she understood the aning behind Xiao Han’s piece. She also knew there was a girl hidden in Xiao Han’s heart—girls are very sensitive and sharp about such things, especially soone like Liu Yiyi, a piano expert.
“No problem!” Xiao Han nodded.
Xiao Han’s fingers lightly rested on the piano keys, gently pressing down. Soon, the piano sang out with soaring lodies, that wonderfully enchanting music emanating from within. Its sound was uplifting and free, giving listeners a profound sense of comfort. The beautiful, marvelous, and moving music made one feel utterly at ease, as if their soul had detached from the vulgar confines of the flesh, soaring up to the ninth heaven.
That ethereally drifting soul floated above the high clouds, basking in the baptism from outer space, relishing in that unique sentint.
Xiao Han took a deep breath and turned to look at Liu Yiyi, who had her eyes closed, a tear trailing down her cheek.
The touching music carried a undertone of lancholic beauty. The piece Xiao Han had composed was elegant and fluid, and behind that smooth and beautiful lody, there indeed lay a sorrowful story hidden deep within his heart.
Screech…
Ultimately, the sound of the piano abruptly ceased. The room once again fell silent. Yet, it seed as if the lodic notes hadn’t completely dissipated, lingering long around the room, continuously wafting beside one’s ears.
“Xiao Han…” Liu Yiyi opened her eyes, her beautiful pupils fixed on Xiao Han.
“What’s the matter?” Xiao Han curiously looked at Liu Yiyi.
“The sound of the piano is really beautiful,” Liu Yiyi said, biting her red lip.
“Actually, I have to confess, this piece was originally written for you,” Xiao Han admitted openly. He was afraid, afraid that one day Liu Yiyi might leave this world, and then this secret would never have the chance to co out.
“Huh?” Liu Yiyi’s eyes widened in shock upon hearing this. She sat up hastily, staring at Xiao Han in astonishnt and asked, “What… what did you just say?”
“I said, this piece was actually written for you!” Xiao Han said with a smile.
“Why?” Liu Yiyi looked at Xiao Han incredulously, then asked, “You… you aren’t lying to , are you?”
“I’m not lying to you!” Xiao Han shook his head and said, “Actually, the first ti I saw you was at Shuimu University’s Piano Room. One evening, I went there to practice, and I saw you leaving the place. Since that day, I’ve been wanting to find you. I can’t describe what I felt, only that I wanted to see you. So, I created this piano piece.”
“Really?” Excitent and surprise filled Liu Yiyi’s eyes. One of her favorite pieces, and more so, a piece that she deeply understood, was composed for her by Xiao Han. This… this shocked and astonished Liu Yiyi imnsely.
“Of course it’s true,” Xiao Han nodded and said, “The second ti I saw you was at the Guzheng store, your father ca to pick you up in his Audi. But still, we just passed by each other. You didn’t know , but I recognized you!”
“Then why didn’t you tell ?” Tears stread down Liu Yiyi’s face.
Xiao Han took slow steps toward her and sat down on the edge of the bed, saying, “Fool, you’re so beautiful, so exquisite, I was afraid you were a Celestial Fairy and I was just a re mortal, unworthy of your presence. I feared I would startle you, and that I might never see you again thereafter.”
“But…” Liu Yiyi bit her red lip, her tears still falling as she said, “But, I’m just a terminal patient; I don’t even have my beautiful long hair anymore.”
“I know that!” Xiao Han nodded and said, “It is just the heavens jealous of your beauty, afflicting you with this disease. You must fight it valiantly, and with your willpower move the heavens. I believe by then, your illness will surely be cured.”
“Yes!” Liu Yiyi nodded, her eyes reddened as she said, “Xiao Han, I want to listen to it again, could you play it for once more?”
“Of course, you can listen to it as many tis as you’d like!” Xiao Han nodded.
After saying this, Xiao Han sat down again in front of the piano and started to play that touching piece anew.
Lying at the head of the bed, Liu Yiyi quietly turned on the recording function on her phone, stealthily capturing the entire piece. Xiao Han had no inkling of it.
Xiao Han played the piece twice in a row, and by the ti the last note had fallen, Liu Yiyi had already closed her eyes, slipping into a light sleep.
Xiao Han gently closed the piano’s lid and walked softly over to Liu Yiyi. He covered her with a blanket and then bent down to kiss her forehead. After doing all this, Xiao Han turned and exited the room.
After leaving the room, Xiao Han descended the stairs.
“Mr. Xiao, would you like so afternoon tea?” the maid inquired.
“No, thank you,” Xiao Han shook his head and replied, “I’ll head back now. If Yiyi wakes up, tell her I went back to the university.”
“Alright,” the maid nodded.
…
Back at the university.
No sooner had he arrived at his dormitory than Liu Bin found Xiao Han.
“You’re in trouble, buddy,” Liu Bin said with narrowed eyes.
“What’s wrong?” Xiao Han asked, puzzled, “I haven’t done anything to incur the wrath of Gods or n.”
“Qin Xiaotian has thrown down the gauntlet to you on Shuimu University’s forum,” Liu Bin inford him.
“What challenge?” Xiao Han inquired.
