Chapter 237: Chapter 238: The Four Dormitory Mates
“What’s so funny, haven’t you ever seen people in love?!” Zhang Xiaoi’s roar ca again from upstairs, like the roar of a lion.
Ha ha ha…
The laughter grew louder.
“Let’s go, let’s talk in my dorm,” Zhang Dagou pulled Zhang Xiaoi toward Dormitory 101.
Zhang Xiaoi followed Zhang Dagou inside; there were no taboos about entering the boys’ dormitory at the mont. Anyone could co in and out. Once classes officially started, boys’ dormitories would be off-limits to girls, and girls’ dormitories would strictly prohibit boys.
Upon entering the dormitory, Xiao Han and Liu Bin were sitting up straight and proper.
Zhang Dagou awkwardly introduced Zhang Xiaoi to the two; seeing her roommates, Zhang Xiaoi lost her fierce montum and beca very docile. Her cheeks were flushed as she said, “Hello, my na is Zhang Xiaoi.”
“Hello, hello,” Liu Bin nodded hurriedly.
The group gathered and felt sowhat awkward.
Luckily, Zhang Xiaoi was quick-witted. She smiled and said, “You two big brothers, our Da Gu might look fierce, but he’s actually very shy. I hope you can take care of him for in the future. If he has any trouble, you can call .”
“Sure, sure!” Liu Bin nodded and said, “Da Gu, look at you, finding such a nice girlfriend, you’re making so jealous.”
“Hehe…” Zhang Dagou grinned sheepishly.
“Still laughing,” Zhang Xiaoi glared at Zhang Dagou and said, “Study hard in school from now on, and if you dare to look at pretty girls, see how I’ll deal with you!”
“I wouldn’t dare, I wouldn’t!” Zhang Dagou quickly shook his head.
After fooling around for a bit, Zhang Xiaoi pulled Zhang Dagou out the door. The couple planned to fully enjoy the few days before school started since such good ti shouldn’t be wasted. After all, once classes officially began, there wouldn’t be as much ti to spend together.
Zhang Xiaoi’s university wasn’t far from Shuimu University, about two kiloters away, and getting there by taxi was just the base fare. Thus, visiting each other was both quick and frequent. Besides Shuimu University, there were two other schools nearby: one called Business and Trade School, and the other South China Normal University. Both schools had many female students, so the boys from Shuimu University never lacked the company of beauties.
Combined, these three schools had tens of thousands of students, so the area between them naturally ford a comrcial center, known as University Town.
There, you could find restaurants, cinemas, supermarkets, and even hotels…
Where there are people, there’s a market. With tens of thousands of students from the three schools, there was certainly a sizeable market.
At two in the afternoon, the fourth roommate arrived at the dormitory. His na was Zhang Feng, as sharp and outstanding as his na implied.
“You’re in my way,” a voice ca from behind Liu Bin.
Liu Bin was engrossed in playing computer gas, so his chair was pushed quite far back, blocking half the path. Liu Bin turned his head, glanced, and said, “Hey, can’t you just go around? Can’t you see I’m busy playing gas?”
“Make way!” The voice suddenly grew much louder.
Not only that, but an aloof and cold aura emanated from the figure, exerting a sense of oppression that made Liu Bin very uncomfortable. It was the first ti they’d t, yet there was already a tension as if swords were drawn.
“Ah, damn!” Liu Bin got irritated, threw his mouse down, stood up, and shouted angrily, “What if I don’t make way today?”
“You could try,” the other party replied coldly.
At this mont, Xiao Han quickly squeezed out from the bathroom; the noise outside had startled him as he was washing his socks. He abandoned his chore and walked out, asking urgently, “What’s going on? What happened?”
“Damn, this kid’s really sothing,” Liu Bin glanced at Xiao Han.
“Make way!” The other person spoke again. Zhang Feng had practiced martial arts, so his body was naturally very muscular. Although he was only one seventy-five ters tall, his build was sturdy, and carrying his luggage, his biceps bulged powerfully, looking particularly vigorous and impressive.
Liu Bin sneered and then responded, “What if I don’t make way today?”
Bang…
Zhang Feng threw down his belongings and reached out to grab Liu Bin. In Zhang Feng’s view, the shorter Liu Bin posed no threat to him whatsoever, so he didn’t take him seriously at all. He intended to teach Liu Bin a lesson so that he would avoid provoking him in future life.
No sooner said than done!
Thud!
Suddenly, a hand shot out and grabbed Zhang Feng’s arm with a single grip.
Xiao Han moved with lightning speed, intercepting the blow ant for Liu Bin. Xiao Han’s gaze was sharp, and he imdiately recognized Zhang Feng’s skill level, knowing this guy was far from simple. Assessing whether soone was formidable could be as simple as looking into their eyes. Moreover, this guy had well-developed biceps and rough, calloused palms, clearly indicating he was not an ordinary character.
Zhang Feng was taken aback for a mont, trying to exert force in his palm, yet he felt the other as immovable as Mount Tai, completely unable to budge.
Zhang Feng found this to be quite peculiar, could it be that he had encountered a master today? He instantly applied fifty percent of his strength, but still, the other party did not move an inch. Zhang Feng was imdiately shocked. He looked up at Xiao Han, but his expression was still as calm as a breeze.
While Zhang Feng was inwardly astonished, Xiao Han was equally surprised. He hadn’t expected Zhang Feng’s strength to be so great, and it seed like he hadn’t even put forth his full effort. The other party hadn’t utilized full power, yet the strength was already considerable, which was indeed impressive.
Zhang Feng gritted his teeth and used all of his strength. His face turned red in an instant. At this, Xiao Han began to struggle. He also quickly exerted a great deal of power to contend with the other. Both n were using their maximum strength. Xiao Han’s footing started to beco unstable. In fact, Zhang Feng was also on the brink of collapse. If at that mont a three-year-old child were to kick Zhang Feng, he probably would have taken a nasty fall.
Since all their strength was going into their hands, their footing naturally beca unstable.
After a long while, Zhang Feng quickly exhaled a breath and both n simultaneously let go. Zhang Feng looked at Xiao Han with a surprised expression and hurriedly asked, “Bro, what’s… what’s your na?”
“My na’s Xiao Han.” Xiao Han gave a wry smile.
“You’re the top college entrance exam scorer?” Zhang Feng was slightly shocked and said, “I didn’t expect you to know kung fu as well.”
“Just a bit of scrappy kung fu!” Xiao Han said with an embarrassed smile and asked, “What’s your na?”
“The na’s Zhang Feng!” Zhang Feng chuckled and said, “A descendant of Zhang Sanfeng.”
“Haha…” Xiao Han laughed heartily and said, “But rember, the school is a place for learning, not for fighting. Besides, we are roommates, we should live in harmony.”
“Yes, yes, yes!” Zhang Feng also realized his mistake and quickly nodded, then said, “I really shouldn’t have been so rash. My apologies for the offensive tone just now, brother. Please be lenient in the future.”
“Oh, please!” Liu Bin replied without enthusiasm, saying, “I can see now that without soone here to keep you in check, you wouldn’t admit your mistakes so easily, right?”
“Uh…” Zhang Feng hesitated for a mont and then smiled, “No no, you’re mistaken. I was just… a little upset about sothing.”
“Forget it.” Liu Bin shook his head and said, “Since we’re all in the sa dorm, I’ll forgive you.”
Having said that, Liu Bin went back to playing his ga. He had completely lost any good impression of Zhang Feng. The first impression was as bad as it could get.
With the arrival of all four roommates in Dormitory 101, apart from Zhang Dagou, who had gone out with his girlfriend Zhang Xiaoi, the other three were staying in the dorm. Xiao Han had washed the clothes he changed out of after his shower, and after wiping his bed down with a damp cloth, he laid down his mat.
Liu Bin had arrived the day before, so his things were already neatly arranged, and at that mont, he was engrossed in a ga of League of Legends. Zhang Dagou’s stuff was scattered all over the head of his bed, and Zhang Feng, who had just co in and set down his things, was also busy tidying up.
While sorting his belongings, he chatted with Xiao Han.
“Xiao Han, where did you learn martial arts?” Zhang Feng asked curiously.
“From an old man in our neighborhood,” Xiao Han replied and said, “I trained with him for a few years when I was a kid because I was sickly, and my parents had learn martial arts to improve my health. After I got better and finished middle school, I stopped practicing after starting high school.”
“Oh, so that old man is a master?” Zhang Feng said, surprised.
“Don’t know.” Xiao Han shook his head and replied, “He was a pretty mysterious old man, but definitely quite formidable. He was very strong.”
“Heh, I wonder how he’d compare to our coach!” Zhang Feng smirked and then said proudly, “Our coach has won the national Sanda championship and the Asian Sanda golden belt. Anyway, he’s really aweso. I’d love to get on the stage and train under him, but he insists I focus on my studies.”
“Your coach is right,” Xiao Han nodded and said, “Boxers and Sanda fighters end up with lots of health problems when they get older. If there’s a way out through studying, try not to get into those kinds of jobs.”
“I like it,” Zhang Feng smiled and said, “Ever since I was young, my dream has been to stand on a stage and enjoy the attention. Even if I lose, it doesn’t matter.”
“Alright then,” Xiao Han conceded, feeling he couldn’t persuade him, and so, he gave up.
After lunch, Xiao Han had a great nap.
Registration lasted for three days, with military training starting on September 3rd. A month of military training was the real challenge.
He woke up in the afternoon to find it was already three o’clock. Liu Bin was still gaming in the dorm, and Zhang Feng had already arranged his bed and was now sleeping in only his underwear with an oddly seductive pose on his bed. Xiao Han chuckled, and as the cicadas buzzed outside and the sun scorched the earth, inside, the slow-moving fan brought a hint of coolness. Xiao Han hadn’t expected his university life to start this way and was filled with anticipation for what was to co.
