Low, dense, twisted, fearful...

As the eerie whispers arose, the surrounding air seed to resonate. It was now impossible to tell whether this sound was coming from the bridal corpse fleeing at an uncanny speed on the ceiling, or if the murmurs themselves were fernting.

Rustling, like insects, almost bursting through one's eardrums and drilling into one's brain.

As this sound grew louder, the surrounding air began to rapidly rotate and distort, with ornants falling with a clatter.

Then, the walls and roof of the house also began to twist and spin.

"Rustle rustle..."

As this sound grew louder, a strong stench of decay assailed them.

One by one, stiff black shadows rose up flapping their wings, circling like flies.

They were actually rotting crows, with dark red eyes and a foul odor.

They quickly gathered, soon forming what looked like a dark cloud, extending sharp claws and black beaks. They rose from all directions of the farm, swarming in, squeezing into this cramped room like swirling black tornados of decay.

"Whoosh..."

They gathered in flocks, diving towards Ye Feifei and Wei Wei in the center of the room.

Their dark red eyes were like sparks of fire.

...

...

"Be careful..."

Wei Wei, unable to fire his gun in ti, quickly turned around, his back facing the crows, shielding Ye Feifei beneath his body.

Ye Feifei in turn used her body to protect the infant.

Soon the two were covered by a dense black cloud, with the sound of tearing clothes incessant.

When this flock of crows had passed over them, Wei Wei's back was seen to be torn to shreds, with countless sharp cuts on his skin. In severe places, large chunks of flesh were missing, with blood seeping from the wounds.

As he stood up, the wounds had already begun to writhe and heal.

But the sticky fluid from the corpse's mouth had adhered to the edges of the wounds, slowing down this healing process.

"Life Demon?"

A voice suddenly sounded nearby. It was the bridal corpse hanging upside down from the ceiling, watching their desperation with enjoynt.

She looked at Wei Wei's back, instead showing a contemptuous and mocking expression:

"No wonder just two people dared to barge in and disrupt my plans."

"However, don't you know that the power of the Life Demon is precisely countered by death?"

"..."

"..."

As her voice rang out, the crows in the room made another circle before diving down again with an even fiercer posture.

These crows seed endless.

Around the cent house, the mountain-like piles of tattered sacks were occasionally torn open by sharp claws.

Heaps of rotting matter slid to the ground.

Then, from among this rotting matter, hoarse sounds arose as one by one they struggled to flap their wings, open their eyes, and twist their necks.

Under the demonic whispers emanating from the room, they all stiffly began to flap their decaying wings.

They continuously joined the flock of death crows, making the flock even larger, like a heavy dark cloud.

"Whoosh..."

At the sa ti, taking advantage of the extrely brief gap as this flock of crows passed by, Wei Wei had quickly pulled Ye Feifei, pushing her into a corner. Then he flipped over the sofa the corpse had just been sitting on, covering her with it to make a simple protective shield. He himself then turned around, his figure quickly darting out, dodging the main force of the crow flock, then raising his hand to fire.

Bang bang bang.

As the bullets struck, four or five rotting crow corpses fell, with bits of flesh twitching slightly on the ground.

But compared to the vast number of crows in the flock, this hardly caused any effective damage. The intense and loud gunshots also failed to intimidate these dead things at all. They just made a turn in the air before swooping towards Wei Wei again.

Wei Wei retreated while quickly opening the gun chamber, glancing at the few remaining bullets inside.

He reminded himself to use them sparingly.

He had always had a bad habit of wasting bullets whenever he had plenty on hand.

The special bullets made by the Foundation, both in terms of power and the privileges they embodied, always made him reluctant to let go.

But the problem was that these bullets were not easy to co by.

In the past, when he was in the training camp, he still had opportunities to sneak a few extra whenever possible. But now, the entire Scrap Iron City had a limited monthly allocation of bullets. For soone like him who hadn't yet gotten close to the leaders and Sister Lucky who was in charge of accounting, it was even more out of the question.

The most miserable investigators basically had to write a report for every bullet they used.

Wei Wei didn't want to end up in such a situation, so before coming to report for duty, he had been intentionally hoarding his stock.

But he had already consud so of his stock at that bar he encountered on the way here.

Although he told the instructor he had none left, he actually still kept a few.

But these few couldn't be carelessly wasted on these inherently innocent crows...

Otherwise, what if he wanted to kill soone in the future but had no bullets left?

When a security officer under the Foundation used special bullets to kill soone with contamination factors, even if that person had citizen status, it wouldn't be investigated. The Guard Office would directly transfer such cases to the relevant departnt of the Foundation for verification. However, because the relevant departnts of the Foundation were too busy, most of the ti the investigations were just a formality and basically wouldn't be pursued.

But even if a Foundation investigator used ordinary bullets to kill an infected person with citizen status, they would need to undergo a strict investigation.

Sotis, they might even be kicked out of the Investigation Departnt and face prosecution because of this.

This was a privilege, but to so extent, it was also a restriction.

But the current situation seed to be beyond what bullets could solve.

Using the death demon's field to awaken dead things from their slumber, attack the living, and spread the power of death.

However, the vast flock of crows that seed to have been prepared long ago on this farm had caused so impact on Wei Wei.

The simplest ability, when compensated by numbers, could also be terrifying.

...Like terribly wasteful.

...

...

If that's the case, then there's only...

Having made the decision, Wei Wei felt relieved.

In fact, he had been longing for this mont in his heart.

Facing the dense flock of crows in the room, that death spirit that shrouded the entire room like a dark cloud.

Instead, an expression of pleasure appeared on his face.

A genuine pleasure from the heart, even... a bit too much pleasure...

Just as a person's smile might make others feel comfortable, when that smile gradually becos exaggerated, it becos sowhat...

...chilling.

"If the power of the Life Demon can't solve the problem..."

Wei Wei spoke slowly, gently closing his eyes, then slowly opening them again.

Between closing and opening, blood threads had faintly appeared in his eyes.

These blood threads suddenly began to writhe and spread.

Then from Wei Wei's back, left cheek, those wounds that obviously couldn't heal and even showed signs of decay,

Suddenly, fine blood threads extended out.

They intertwined and entangled, stitching up each wound on his body.

This made Wei Wei's body, in a short ti, beco like a toy full of stitching marks.

At the sa ti, he inserted the gun back into the holster at his waist, then took down a sickle from the wall nearby. This was an ordinary sickle commonly seen on farms, over a ter long, with a rusty blade, used for cutting wheat and weeds.

Those blood threads that had stitched up his wounds were quickly extending from his wounds.

Bit by bit, they spread along his wrist, covering this sickle.

As the blood threads rapidly spread and entangled, this ordinary sickle also quickly elongated and transford, forming a ferocious death scythe over two ters long, with a sharp blade, entirely blood-colored, with countless blood threads writhing like living things.

"Then how about this power?"

Wei Wei suddenly grinned, his eyes blazing with blood color.

Then he took a step forward, wielding the blood-colored scythe in his hand, charging towards the dense flock of decaying crows before him.

"You're not of the life system..."

At this mont, the twisted bridal corpse saw the blood threads on Wei Wei's body and suddenly exclaid in horror.

"You! What on earth are you?"

But before she could finish shouting, the blood-colored scythe had already swung down towards her.

"Swish" "Swish" "Swish" "Swish"

The dense sound of blade cutting ford a continuous line.

Who knows how many death crows flying in this narrow room were instantly cut into neat halves.

No, not just cut.

Where the blood-colored scythe shadow swung, red blood threads ca alive, twisting grotesquely, spreading around.

They themselves seed to carry that eerie sound, similar to the "demonic whispers", directly cutting the death field in this room in half.

The bridal corpse, the mont that crimson appeared, had already turned to flee.

Her iron-gray face was full of fear, her twisted body pushing her speed to the limit, instantly rushing to the window position, her figure leaping out. However, just as she had barely gone four or five ters, a huge blood-colored scythe suddenly extended from the window, instantly hooking around her waist, forcefully pulling her desperate self back into the room.

The upper half of her body was severed, lying flat on the scythe.

Wei Wei, his eyes filled with blood threads, slowly retracted the scythe, staring at the will that had not yet completely disappeared on this head.

He chuckled softly: "Evil spirit? Residual will? Or demon?"

"No matter what you are..."

"If it wasn't to summon you out to kill you, why would I help you complete the last step of the sacrifice?"

"..."

A fearful expression appeared on this head and froze in the last mont.

On Wei Wei's face, a satisfied smile suddenly appeared, the blood-colored scythe danced, and crimson shadows filled the entire room.
