The departure was set for early morning, and it was uncertain how long it would be before returning.

The thought of not seeing his girlfriend for a long ti naturally lifted Yan’s spirits.

At five in the morning, Yan covered Kurenai with a blanket and left quietly.

What he didn’t know was that after he left, the sleeping Kurenai opened her eyes.

She watched the door for a mont before turning over to continue sleeping.

"Let’s go."

Shisui and Itachi were already waiting at the village entrance.

The three t up and left the village, heading towards the Hidden Steam Village.

In the days following Yan’s departure, several unclean family ninjas also left the village in groups, heading to the border to replace the ninjas stationed at the border posts.

The experiences of the Sarutobi, Shimura, and other families made it clear to all the families in Konohagakure, big and small, how Tsunade differed from the Third Hokage.

She wouldn’t tolerate any sand in her eyes.

So of the more ostentatious families suddenly beca much more subdued.

They feared bumping into Tsunade’s gun barrel and bringing unnecessary trouble to their families.

The Hot Water Village, once a famous tourist destination in the ninja world and the first choice for soaking in hot springs, had beco desolate due to the war.

Even though the war hadn’t reached this small village, the Hidden Steam Village was still being squeezed by the wars of the great nations, becoming weaker and weaker.

"I rember the last ti I ca here, the Hot Water Village was bustling."

Among the three, only Shisui had been to the Hot Water Village before; it was the first ti for Yan and Itachi.

Walking on the dilapidated streets littered with trash, Shisui couldn’t help but lant:

"All of this is caused by war. How wonderful it would be if one day, there were no more wars in the ninja world."

Compared to Konohagakure, the villagers of the Hidden Steam Village were also greatly affected by the village’s decline.

The most typical sign was the chaos that ensued after the village weakened, with a large number of rogue ninjas and renegades gathering here.

It was a vicious cycle; the presence of these rogue ninjas and renegades ant that the security of the Hot Water Village was very poor.

The presence of a terrifying cult also scared away countless people who wanted to visit, dealing a significant blow to the economy of the Hot Water Village.

The weak are always bullied, no matter the world.

"Shisui, your thinking is wrong."

Yan spoke up to correct Shisui.

Wrong?

Shisui blinked blankly, and Itachi also looked over curiously.

Yan surveyed the surroundings and said, "Let’s find a place to stay first, then we can talk slowly."

The three found a hotel that seed decent enough to check into. Due to the poor security, the hotel didn’t have many guests, so Yan booked two rooms and asked the hotel to deliver als to the room.

In the room, Yan casually placed the samurai sword from his back on the table and sprawled out on a chair.

Itachi and Shisui didn’t let their guard down, checking the room thoroughly and observing the outside through the window.

As expected, they were being watched.

Three people wearing Konohagakure forehead protectors and clothes with the Uchiha clan emblem appeared in the village, making it difficult not to attract attention.

If Shisui had led this mission, he would have entered the Hidden Steam Village discreetly.

Yan’s approach was the exact opposite of Shisui’s; he led them into the Hidden Steam Village with great fanfare and checked into the best hotel in the village, as if afraid that others wouldn’t know of their arrival.

Ignoring the people watching from outside, Yan first explained his understanding of war.

"Shisui, Itachi, war is just an extension of politics, so don’t harbor any more thoughts of a world without war; it’s very naive."

Itachi began to ponder, while Shisui looked sowhat embarrassed.

According to Yan, Uchiha Shisui’s ideas are naive and childish.

"Wherever there are people, there will be conflict, and war is inevitable.

Not to ntion humans, even wild beasts know to drive competitors out of their territory to secure their food source."

"Beasts do so, let alone humans."

"In any world, in any place, only the strong have a say, and the weak can only suffer. Look at Hot Water Village, thet were rely affected by the war, but they’ve ended up in their current state."

"The only true peace in the shinobi world was during the brief period when the First Hokage established Konohagakure."

Yan raised his hand towards Shisui and Itachi, clenched his fist, and waved it:

"Because the First Hokage was so powerful, powerful enough to make everyone hide away their ulterior motives, hiding them in their hearts.

Powerful enough to make all the unruly and ambitious people sit down and discuss peace with him."

"Rember, strength is the foundation of peace. Only when we are strong enough can we make our enemies fear and dread us."

"After the First Hokage’s death, the First Great Ninja War broke out.

It proved that cunning and wisdom alone cannot suppress ambition.

The Second Hokage is the best example!

He was strong, but not strong enough to dominate the powerhouses of other villages.

He had strategies, he had foresight, but all his arrangents and preparations failed with a coup."

"In the face of absolute power, all sches are as fragile as paper."

As long as you are strong enough, everyone must bow before you. Becoming stronger is the correct goal to pursue.

Not hoping that war will not break out.

Such thinking is truly naive and childish.

"I’ve digressed a bit."

Yan signaled the two to co back to reality:

"What we need to do now is to complete our mission and eradicate the cult hidden in Hot Water Village."

"Should we make contact with the people of Hot Water Village first?"

Shisui looked up.

The mission was issued by Hot Water Village, and to eradicate the village’s cult, Hot Water Village spent a considerable sum to post the mission in Konohagakure.

Shisui thought they should first get in touch with them, perhaps to gain so useful information.

"No need, the mission was posted anonymously, there’s no need for contact."

Yan shook his head, glanced out the window, and his lips curved slightly:

"We don’t need to trouble our employer. This mission relies solely on us, and besides, the information we want will be delivered to us, won’t it?"

They ca with an important task, yet they entered boldly, as if afraid they wouldn’t be noticed.

Yan wanted this effect; it would be best if everyone in Hot Water Village knew that three ninjas from Konohagakure had arrived.

They were also from the Uchiha clan of Konohagakure, and it would be best to pass on their identity information as well.

Secret investigation?

Better to startle the snake by hitting the grass.

Whoever watches them, whoever surveils them, indicates they have sothing to hide. Even if they’re not from the cult, they’re certainly not good people.

"You two go out and gather information. I allow you to use any ans necessary, better to kill wrongly than to miss an enemy!

If soone is watching us, it ans they fear us, they dread us.

Follow that lead, and we will surely catch them."
