Without hesitation, Eva phased through the solid ground like a ghost, sinking deep into the depths below. "Wow the floors are so deep. Makes it easy to fool others, to make them doubt if anything is truly down here. But I know there’s sothing down here. I can definitely see things moving with my clairvoyance," Eva stated with a determined look as she sunk deeper. After several minutes of floating through the floor, Eva appeared in an unfamiliar room.
"Finally, I’ve made it!" Eva cheered to herself, her voice filled with triumph. But her joy quickly turned into disbelief as she surveyed the room before her. Her scowl deepened, and her eyes grew cold.
The room, vast and reminiscent of a warehouse, was filled with an unsettling sight. Countless cages lined the walls, each housing grotesque and mutated creatures of various kinds. As Eva floated through the space, her gaze darting from one cage to another, she couldn’t help but notice the disturbing mixture of different races around these monsters. These creatures had been subjected to genetic and physical mutilation, their bodies twisted and distorted beyond recognition.
With a cold, apathetic look, Eva continued her exploration, her determination unyielding despite the somber scene. And then, amidst the chaos, she noticed a particular group of monsters that made her expression harden and a sly smile and a hint of disgust appeared on her face. They were covered in a viscous black sli, their bodies towering at a staggering height of 20 feet. Multiple eyes adorned their forms, a haunting and unnatural sight.
So of the creatures relentlessly slashed at their cages, their fury evident, while others huddled in the corners of their confinent, their cries echoing with despair. A sense of familiarity washed over Eva as she observed them. "Wait a minute," she muttered, a mix of slight surprise and recognition in her voice. "Isn’t this the black playti we encountered in Mavis’ ho?"
The mory of that harrowing encounter, which she and Aurianna had experienced two years ago, resurfaced in Eva’s mind. The resemblance between the imprisoned monsters and those they had encountered back then was strikingly similar. The sa sense of darkness and malevolence seed to emanate from their very beings.
Eva’s brows furrowed as she pondered the implications of this discovery. "It’s obvious that this is an experint ground. And it’s obvious who is behind this all..."
"As I suspected, and boy was I right! King Girsal was indeed the one funding Mavis for this despicable project," Eva declared, a cold smirk gracing her lips.
"I sense Girsal’s presence," Eva turned her head as she sensed the presence of King Girsal nearby. "Well, well, well, looks like the king himself is here. I might as well follow him and see what he’s up to," Eva said with a cold tone as she floated towards the left and effortlessly passed through the solid wall.
To her surprise, she found herself in a lavish and opulent office. "Well, well, well, now this is one fancy office," Eva remarked, taking in the luxurious interior with wide eyes. The room exuded wealth and power, with fine furnishings and intricate decorations adorning every corner.
The walls, covered in richly woven tapestries depicting scenes of heroic conquests and mythical creatures, created a sense of grandeur. Golden candelabras adorned with flickering candles cast a warm, golden glow upon the room, illuminating the fine details of the ticulously crafted furnishings.
A massive, ornately carved desk stood prominently at the side of the room. Its surface, polished to a mirror-like sheen, reflected the dimd light, showcasing the intricate marquetry of exotic woods. Elaborate inkwells, crafted from precious tals and adorned with intricate engravings, sat atop the desk, ready to witness the signing of royal decrees.
But amidst this façade of elegance and refinent, a hidden corner of the room concealed a dark and disturbing chart. On a large, intricately carved display stand rested a series of charts and illustrations, each one a haunting testant to the grueso experints that had taken place. These macabre depictions showcased the unholy mixture of various creatures, races and beings, their twisted forms captured in vivid detail.
The charts displayed grotesque creatures with mismatched limbs and unnatural appendages, their bodies contorted and malford. So had multiple heads or limbs sprouting haphazardly, while others bore the remnants of different races sewn together, a cruel mockery of nature’s design. The images were marked with annotations and descriptions, detailing the thods used to create these abominations and the results of their twisted experints.
Eva’s body drew closer to the charts, her eyes scanning the intricate details with precision. It didn’t take long for her keen observation to reveal a striking pattern. Each chart, without exception, docunted a series of failures. And there, emblazoned on each one, was a common the that caught Eva’s attention—how to achieve immortality.
A mischievous smile tugged at the corners of Eva’s lips as she unraveled the implications of this discovery. "Hah, immortality, the elusive desire that had plagued humanity since ti immorial, seed to be the driving force behind King Girsal’s relentless experintation. I can see the failure evident in every chart suggested that his attempts had been in vain, yet the dogged pursuit of eternal life persisted."
"I don’t understand why he’s doing this though, if he wants to be immortal, he just needs to get stronger." With a curious glint in her eyes, Eva’s mind raced with possibilities. "Whatever his reason is, I know that Girsal is willing to sacrifice anything and everything for the sake of his own immortality. Like how he did with Aurianna and the Heroes."
Eva then turned her to the center of the office, and there sat King Girsal, his posture tense and his hands trembling. Beads of sweat ford on his forehead, betraying his nervousness. Eva’s smirk grew wider as she observed him, relishing in the sight of the once-confident king now clearly unnerved by sothing.
Eva floated closer, her voice filled with a mix of curiosity and amusent. ’My, my, King Girsal, what a pleasure it is to find you here. It seems you’re not as composed as you usually appear. I wonder what is making him so terrified,’ she taunted, her words dripping with a playful yet piercing tone, but King Girsal couldn’t hear her nor see her.
"Frustrating as all hell!" He slamd his hand down on the table, causing a tremor that reverberated through the office. "That damn blood of hers, it’s losing its potency by the day!" he grumbled in exasperation.
King Girsal clenched his teeth and removed the gloves on his hands as he witnessed the flesh around his hands wither away, unveiling the tal, chanized limbs underneath. The once-proud ruler now found himself reliant on artificial appendages.
"What’s more, the cha technology is no longer updating, dammit?!" he bellowed, gripping his chanical hands in frustration.
Girsal’s eyes darted around the room, and summoned a screen before him. On them were filled with charts and diagrams depicting grueso experintal creations. The screens around him were adorned with images of twisted mixtures of flesh and tal, displaying the horrifying results of his desperate attempts.
On one of them were the words, [ Experint 1234 to prolong a failed life was a failure. ]
He clenched his shoulder, feeling the cold tal against his body. "I won’t be defeated," he muttered through gritted teeth, his voice tinged with desperation. "I’ll find a way to reverse this decay, to beco fully human!"
Girsal stumbled upon a screen, and it had details of a tested theory, a radical approach that could potentially reverse the decay he was experiencing, but only for a short period of ti. The image of a Saintess was displayed on it, and a wicked smile played across his lips.
Eva’s mind raced with newfound knowledge as she observed King Girsal’s frustrated outburst, and his files. The pieces of the puzzle were falling into place, revealing a more profound understanding of the situation at hand.
With a steely gaze fixed upon King Girsal, Eva’s thoughts raced with certainty. ’As I thought, I would notice my kind easily,’ Eva thought as she looked at King Girsal coldly, ’At first I wasn’t certain. But now I know. King Girsal is a failed cha,’ Eva mused, her expression growing colder.
’His fusion of technology and human parts didn’t quite work out as intended when he was born. That explains the decay he’s experiencing and the limitations of his lifespan. If he wants to prolong his existence, he’ll have to fully transform into a cha. However, if he does that, he can no longer rule Sandeph, because chas and humans aren’t on good terms." Eva pondered with a cold expression as she watched King Girsal express his disgust for his chanical body structure.
’I can now see why he is stronger than most humans. But him being a cha also explains why he has the ability to create such a well-crafted weapons. From the info I gathered, chas are the only ones who possess the expertise to produce such dangerous intricately designed weapons. No matter how great or skilled a blacksmith is, they could never compare to the precision and craftsmanship of a cha,’ Eva nodded in admiration.
