Sebastian got dressed in his armour and held what he considered to be the finest sword made in all the kingdom.

Rather than get on a horse and storm the town to fight against the attackers, Sebastian sent out more than half his army to destroy Dante and Kaden’s army before he would ride out to finish it.

Sebastian sat on his horse by the open palace gates, waiting for his mont to claim the victory.

Behind Sebastian were more n waiting to be told their orders.

"Your Majesty! Your Majesty!" Lilith’s voice was heard to the right.

Sebastian peered down upon Lilith with a terrifying gaze. "I hope you are here to give a kiss goodbye."

"I do not think you should go. This is Lord Hastings you shall be up against. There is no battle his family has lost-"

"He never won against the Valthorns, and Joel was weak," Sebastian replied, annoyed by Lilith’s actions.

"The Valthorns never won against him as well. He has killed other enemies and walked away without bruises. You must stay within the safety of the palace and let the n fight this battle for you. Please," Lilith pleaded, confident Sebastian would die.

Sebastian scoffed. "I had such high hopes for you, only for you to disappoint in the end. It appears I will have to set my sights upon a new queen. Perhaps Freya."

"Freya is missing," Lilith revealed. "You don’t know what has happened in your palace and kingdom. I have been doing my best to aid you, but you won’t listen. I shall never have the power I seek if you keep on like this.’

"Find a new woman to be your queen," Lilith said, letting go of her desire to be queen.

It was risky, but with how Sebastian acted now, he wasn’t going to see the next day.

With Freya missing and the palace in a ss, it wouldn’t be long before Lilith was attacked because Sebastian wasn’t trying to listen to or protect her.

Lilith backed away from Sebastian’s horse and curtsied. "I wish you well with your fight, Your Majesty. I shall depart from the palace."

"I will have you hanged with the traitors when I return," Sebastian sneered.

What gave Lilith the right or power to walk away from him?

"I shall be in my father’s ho. You can go there to kill when you are done," Lilith said, but she had a great feeling Sebastian would not return.

It was why she was so bold to leave him now, whilst knowing the danger of leaving him.

"You will not leave. Guards, arrest her!" Sebastian ordered. "She will be hanged with the traitors."

Lilith didn’t put up a fight when the guards ca to grab her. Being arrested and guarded was better than being killed now. Whoever had taken Freya was still in the palace, and once the enemies flooded the palace, they would see she was no longer on Sebastian’s side.

As Lilith walked away, she observed the faces of the n standing behind Sebastian. They were afraid, hesitant. They had good reason to be since they were going up against the armies of two powerful n.

Why would they have faith in Sebastian, who always threatened to kill them?

Lilith gritted her teeth, annoyed she had put in a lot of work to beco a woman of Sebastian’s liking, only for him to beco too confident once he got his hands on power.

Sebastian tore his attention from Lilith and focused on the battle in town. He couldn’t tell if his side was winning or losing as yet.

"Your Majesty, a report has co. n are flooding the town from all sides, and Norman has turned against you. He fights with Lord Hastings."

"Then kill him too and bring his head to !" Sebastian yelled, annoyed that the army needed to turn to him for every step of the battle.

Sebastian monitored the town, trying to determine when it would be his best mont to strike. He looked back at the n behind him, waiting for their chance to fight.

Did he have enough n?

Norman betraying him would take away from the king’s army.

"Perhaps you should join the n in town-"

Sebastian unseathed his sword and swung it at the knight, offering him advice. He missed, but the guard did not speak up again.

"We move when I say we are to move," Sebastian said, pointing his sword at the guard.

Chatter beca loud behind Sebastian as the n talked amongst themselves. Their behaviour annoyed Sebastian. He was now the king, and he was not to be questioned.

"If they want to fight so badly, then let them. Go take down the enemy. The first ones to bring Lord Hastings and Duke Vales’ heads will be awarded a title and land!" Sebastian yelled, knowing the n couldn’t resist the reward.

There was hesitation at first, but soon, n moved to leave the palace.

Sebastian grinned. He would always know how to motivate the n.

Sebastian’s confidence didn’t last long as an announcent soon ca.

"Duke Hastings is storming the palace!"

Sebastian looked back at the town and this ti, noticed a large group of n charging the palace. He had only looked away for a mont, so when did they have the chance to break past the n he sent to the town?

Sebastian pulled on the reins of his horse and turned around to retreat further into the palace. "Protect the palace! Protect your king!" He yelled as he retreated to safety.

Sebastian’s private group of n followed him into the palace, leaving the n to put up a defence.

Dante led his n up to the palace. His sword was in his right hand, dripping blood, and his armour was stained with blood. He was tired, but he did not slow down. He was close to ending this fight, so it wouldn’t take many more days.

As long as Sebastian fell, Dante could leave this fight in the hands of Norman and Kaden.

When Dante reached the gates, he stopped as another group of the palace army stood in his way. He examined the faces of the n present. None of them wished to die.

"Lower your weapons, and you shall return to your families. You will not die today as long as you surrender!" Dante yelled, giving the n the chance to decide their fates. "Do not die for a man who has abandoned you."

The n talked amongst themselves, waiting for soone to be bold enough to make the first move.

"Is he here?" Kaden’s voice ca from behind Dante.

Seeing the duke was also still alive and well, a sword fell, followed by another.
