Chapter 88: Chapter 87 History Book

The book scribes team’s lifestyle profession of record keepers requires reading more to improve their skill points,

a task that other players find quite boring and of little use.

However, the Spirits have done an excellent job at balancing the professions, with each combat role having its own advantages, and the lifestyle professions having their own joys.

It all depends on whether or not the players can experience that joy.

Shi Qi was one who had experienced the joy of the record keeper lifestyle profession, and just the fact that other players had a low level of Spirit language and couldn’t even get through the first chapter of a book was enough to make him… feel a sense of superiority as a record keeper.

Not all books in Spirits are just props to explain the ga background; so are magic books and books related to hidden quests.

...

Shi Qi believed that within this prop book he held nad ‘Queen i’s Private Diary’… there must be a major hidden quest.

As soon as he returned to the Tower of Trial’s realm, he began to translate Queen i’s diary.

Queen i’s diary had a total of one hundred twenty-seven pages. As Shi Qi opened the diary, a translation window popped up; he could understand the first thirty pages all at once, and then directly copy and paste the content to the forum.

From the following pages, Shi Qi had to use the unique ‘Study’ mini-ga that was specific to the record keepers to start translating, which was a bit like a word ga. Shi Qi could now play it very proficiently.

He didn’t translate quickly because he was live streaming, and he had to show every page of content to the viewers in his stream.

‘Is this the queen’s diary? Feels just like the ones my sister writes.’

‘The content of this diary isn’t interesting. Live streaming it is not as good as joining the pros to fight Queen i.’

‘If it’s uninteresting then don’t watch, but don’t you all want to know what Queen i’s character design and background story are like?’

‘Can’t the character design be seen in the modeling and CG? These diary entries are trivial matters, without any background story in them.’

The comnts flying past in the live stream were also being watched by Shi Qi, with most of the viewers having never played Spirits but were continuously following it through various ans.

Most Spirits live streams nowadays were about the Divine Essence battles, so Queen i was actually more popular than the puppet sister in these viewers’ eyes.

But they were right, Queen i’s diary consisted mostly of trivial daily matters.

Shi Qi’s job, and what he enjoyed doing, was compiling the key content from these trivial daily events and posting them on the forums for other players to understand the crucial backstory of Queen i.

Most people in the stream preferred to switch to channels where they could watch Queen i’s fighting prowess up close, so the popularity of the stream gradually declined until Shi Qi turned the page, and an ancient-looking letter fell out of the book.

“A letter? Could it be a hidden quest?”

Shi Qi excitedly picked up the letter and began inspecting its properties using a detection spell.

‘An unsent letter of help, Description: This item contains a powerful Otherworld aura that needs to be purified before it can be read.’

The fact that the letter was imbued with an Otherworld aura did not surprise Shi Qi; just like the gear from the Divine Essence battles of the Tower of Trial needed to be purified by the fairy rchant.

After the opening of the Divine Essence instance, an NPC nad the Ti rchant Trao appeared at its entrance. He could help players purify Otherworld auras, while players could exchange the dals and rit items they’d won in the Divine Essence battles with him.

Seeing the letter, Shi Qi closed his notebook and headed towards the distant Ti rchant Trao with the letter in hand.

There weren’t many players around Ti rchant Trao; to browse an NPC’s shop, a player didn’t need to stand in front of it all the ti—just opening the shop interface within five ters of the NPC, players could browse the shop in any position they wanted.

So around Ti rchant Trao, there was a group of players sitting or lying down browsing the dal shop, but only a few stood directly in front of him.

Shi Qi ran up to Ti rchant Trao, the rchant’s gaze turned towards Shi Qi, and a series of windows also popped up in front of Shi Qi.

“I sense an ancient aura on you, like the sobs of soone in utter despair…”

Ti rchant Trao was shrouded in a piece of ragged cloth; his background was also very mysterious—according to the official introduction, the Knight gear players could exchange from him with enough dals all ca from a distant past.

“I rember the first ti I interacted with this NPC, the dialogue wasn’t this. Could it be because of this letter?” Shi Qi glanced at the dialogue options that had popped up in front of him.

1. Browse the dal shop.

2. Purify an item containing Otherworld aura.

3. Leave.

Beyond that, there were no other options. This NPC had no quests, serving purely as an exchange point for Divine Essence battle equipnt.

Shi Qi chose the second option, and then another window popped up in front of him. He placed the ‘unsent letter of help’ into this window.

“Ah… a letter from the past, a key to this war, a turning point for a shattered world, I see a second possibility in the long flow of ti.”

As the Ti rchant spoke these words, Shi Qi quickly took a screenshot to record them, for another player might not pay attention to such trivial NPC dialogue.

But Shi Qi knew that in the ga Spirits, most dialogue had aning and could potentially contain a hidden quest.

This letter was clearly a key item to trigger a hidden quest!

“I will need so ti to decipher this letter, Spirit… Please wait patiently.”

The mont the Ti rchant’s voice faded, a tir appeared next to the item purification window, showing seven hours and twenty-one minutes.

“Seven hours to purify a letter?”

Shi Qi was now consud with curiosity about the contents of the letter. He had previously had the Divine Essence artifacts of the Tower of Trial purified within ten seconds!

A letter taking seven hours to purify? Could it be that the letter’s properties were even more formidable than those of a level fifty epic gear?

But Shi Qi no longer had the ability to take back the letter; it was already in the process of purification, and the tir of seven hours and twenty-one minutes was ticking down second by second.

“Well, I can use this ti to catch up on my writing.”

Shi Qi was not one to rush. He shifted his mood, sat down on the ground, and opened the docunt function in the Tian Gong gadget.

He entered a title directly into the post.

‘Chronicles of Spirits: The Legend of Queen i—What kind of story lies behind the most popular aloof queen boss in Spirits?’
