Chapter 515: Chapter 504: Update Plan Preparation (First update, 4000 words!)

Hai Lan had vaguely understood Mr. Silver’s plan, but that content wasn’t sothing Jiang Qiao needed to interfere with.

What he needed to do now was to prepare for the level 65 update and edit the corresponding update CG.

The new level cap inevitably would introduce a plethora of new things, such as new equipnt, new instances, new systems, and new chanisms.

However, Jiang Qiao wasn’t in a rush this ti, as the two major projects, Holy Spirit City and the Path to Ascension, were enough to keep players engaged from level 65 to level 70.

What Jiang Qiao needed to do was daily updates, new equipnt, new fashion in the ga shop, and so enhancents and additions to other ga systems.

The Divine Fragnt that rcenary Alma provided to Jiang Qiao had also granted thirty thousand new gaming qualifications to Jiang Qiao, but the subsequent updates… Jiang Qiao still had to update according to the current situation.

And now, Jiang Qiao was upgrading his own server… Hai Lan.

“How many ‘Divine Fragnts’ have you lost exactly?”

Jiang Qiao’s hands were hovering over five Divine Fragnts, among which two were dimd and drained of Divine Power. Holy Spirit City had been operating for a year and a half, and the ga’s map had expanded tenfold compared to when it first launched.

The five Divine Fragnts of Hai Lan could gradually be pieced together into a quarter of a sphere.

“Maybe… twenty-five, thirty?” Hai Lan counted her fingers, her expression seeming puzzled.

Jiang Qiao, speechless, placed his hand on Hai Lan’s head… then said, “Sit down.”

“Why?” Hai Lan looked up at Jiang Qiao’s hand on her forehead and asked.

“Just obey… sit down, that’s all.”

Jiang Qiao’s hand slid to Hai Lan’s shoulder, and his other hand also rested on her other shoulder, pressing her down onto the sofa with a push.

As Hai Lan lost balance and fell onto the sofa, Jiang Qiao placed his fingertips on her forehead, activating the creator mode at that mont. Jiang Qiao’s pupils turned golden as he began to retrieve the mories stored within the three Divine Fragnts of Hai Lan.

Divine Fragnts were also fragnts of worlds created by Hai Lan in the past.

Each Divine Fragnt contained different elents, possibly the lost royal city of a queen like i, or perhaps a legendary topography.

In short, anything that could beco part of a Divine Fragnt when the world was still intact was definitely a well-known region, stamped in the collective mory of countless beings of that world.

Jiang Qiao was retrieving precisely this mory. The content of the mory was vast, and the three complete Divine Fragnts provided Jiang Qiao with plenty of detailed information.

First of all, the past world of the Devouring God was a Transcendent civilization, with a level equivalent to dieval tis. They relied not on technology, but on the special characteristics of the Devouring God race to freely dominate the star maps, sowhat like the current Legion of Obliteration.

Any plane targeted by the previous Devouring God could not escape the fate of being devoured. Among the nations of this civilization, Queen i’s country was relatively mild.

Yet after the fall of the Devouring God, not a single person, not a single country in that world could escape destruction.

“Was there no subordinate god?”

The pale gold in Jiang Qiao’s pupils gradually faded. The mory within the Divine Fragnt showed Jiang Qiao a significant difference between the past Hai Lan and the present one.

The previous Devouring God felt to Jiang Qiao like an emotionless, cold-blooded dominatrix. This one…

“I don’t think the past would have had any subordinate gods; those gods seed like they’d run away upon sight.” Hai Lan rubbed the part of her forehead that Jiang Qiao had pressed and turned red as she spoke.

“But now we need the power of those wild divine spirits to repair these two Divine Fragnts.”

Jiang Qiao’s left hand hovered three Divine Fragnts glowing with pale blue Divine Power, while the other hand hovered two dimd, powerless Divine Fragnts.

Divine Fragnts were absolutely essential for enhancing the power of all spirits, and the two Divine Fragnts given to Jiang Qiao by rcenary Alma didn’t contain any living being but instead housed a very special altar-like architectural relic.

Jiang Qiao searched Hai Lan’s mory but couldn’t figure out what use the relic had; currently, more than the relic, the recruitnt of wild divinities was worrying Jiang Qiao.

At present, Holy Spirit City had forty-four registered gods residing, but there were only three permanent divine spirits: the Lake God, the God of Casting, and the Goddess of Beauty. These three gods could be said to be Hai Lan’s ‘subordinate gods’ since all had signed a magical contract of servitude with Hai Lan.

Jiang Qiao could find detailed information about them in the book of the system, while other gods chose to stay in Holy Spirit City because Spirit City could provide them with a lot of Divine Power Crystals.

But it still wasn’t enough. Jiang Qiao needed to capture, entice, kidnap – by any ans necessary – at least one hundred fifty-six more high-ranking deities to reside in Holy Spirit City to make use of the two depleted Divine Fragnts.

Currently, Jiang Qiao could learn from rcenary Alma… there were many wild divinities at the Order Sanctuary, but they all served the Order Sanctuary, and in terms of living conditions, the Order Sanctuary was far superior to Holy Spirit City.

Even the unique entertainnt and food of Blue Star were just a novelty and fun for those visitors; it’s like a city is great for a visit but living there is another matter altogether.

So now, Jiang Qiao lacked a thod, a way to poach divinities nestled in the creator’s sanctuary and bring them to Spirit City.

This was what Jiang Qiao needed to consider for the new update.

The invasion of the creator’s sanctuary had already been delayed thanks to Zhao Mingwei, Black Ash, and Caral, who had fought for the governor’s qualifications. This allowed Jiang Qiao so leeway to negotiate with the creator’s sanctuary, but that was about it.

Now, the most important thing was still to increase the level cap and the server population.

Jiang Qiao was pondering whether to find a way to raid the Order Sanctuary when Black Ash Knight sent a ssage to Jiang Qiao saying, ‘I might have a way.’

Jiang Qiao shared his current troubles and the challenges facing Spirit City with Queen i and the Five Knights, including Black Ash Knight.

As the only Knight among Queen i’s Knights who had served as a rcenary at the Order Sanctuary… Black Ash Knight might possess more intelligence than anyone else present.

“Would you like to join ?” Jiang Qiao opened the teleportation portal to the instance lord’s residence and asked Hai Lan, who had just finished fixing her hair.

Hai Lan said nothing and imdiately transford into her ghost form, following Jiang Qiao.

In the instance lord’s residence, Black Ash Knight again reverted to his coal-black form, munching on a pancake while waiting for Jiang Qiao’s arrival.

What concerned Jiang Qiao was that the Mistress of Biland Island was standing next to the Black Ash Knight. She and the Black Ash Knight had a certain relationship, though it was not a very good one.

“Agent, have you heard why there are so many deities in the Order Sanctuary?” Black Ash Knight asked directly as soon as he saw Jiang Qiao.

“Because they produce mother crystals and divine power crystals?”

If Jiang Qiao rembered correctly, the Order Sanctuary corresponded to the catastrophe of Chaos Island, which included the races of Biland Island and Black Tide Island, whose creatures were condensed with high-energy essence… mother crystals.

“No, on the contrary, they collect divine power crystals from those visiting gods and in exchange, give those gods another kind of item.”

As he spoke, Black Ash Knight suddenly stretched his small hand into his spherical body and then tore a heart-shaped orb emitting pink light from within his body.

Heart’s Intent Value.

Jiang Qiao knew what this thing was, a commodity that Holy Spirits collect as a routine, the ga’s primary rare currency, Heart’s Intent Value.

This item could only be obtained by pleasing NPCs.

“Heart’s Intent Value?” Jiang Qiao was puzzled about how Black Ash Knight could separate his own Heart’s Intent Value, which, according to Jiang Qiao’s understanding, should only be produced when NPCs experienced pleasure.

“Yes, the emotions I experience while eating pancakes. During my transformation, this Mistress granted the ability to separate my emotions,” said the Black Ash Knight, glancing at the silent Mistress, and then he tossed the little heart to Jiang Qiao.

“Do you an that the Order Sanctuary uses this item to trade divine power crystals with gods from various parts of the star map and also persuades them to join the Order Sanctuary?”

No matter how Jiang Qiao looked at this little heart, it seed no different.

“It’s similar, the catastrophe managed by the Order Sanctuary is chaos. Chaos Island has the ability to replicate living beings, including emotions, consciousness, and so deeper elents. To my knowledge, the Order Sanctuary has dosticated three whole Chaos Islands for the production of this item similar to Heart’s Intent Value, but much more powerful.”

As Black Ash Knight uttered the word ‘dosticated’, the Mistress’s expression grew unpleasant. After all, she herself was Chaos incarnate, and hearing that her own kind was being raised like livestock by the Order Sanctuary did not please her.

But on further thought, Chaos Island might be one of the weakest cataclysms on the star map, its only fighting force being the Magic Thieves that followed them, and the dangerous Crystal Plague.

However, the Crystal Plague seed not to pose a problem in front of the Order Sanctuary, whereas for the alliances of gods across different planes, it was indeed a terrifying disaster.

“And then? What do the gods do with these heartfelt values?”

Jiang Qiao had initially set up the system of heartfelt values to conquer Biland Island, but now the existence of the system had turned into a re gaplay.

“To please their own believers,” Black Ash Knight continued to inform Jiang Qiao of so unknown matters, “The competition among the gods is brutal, and the brutality lies in the rivalry for believers. So gods use various ans to increase their own believers. Empowering believers is the most basic thod, but it’s so crude that it disperses a god’s own power.”

Jiang Qiao had heard about this as well. The concept of hierarchy among the spirits in the City of Gods was very strict. Gods like the Lake God, the lowest class of deities with only five or six thousand pitiful followers, were basically the ones bullied by other superior gods.

That’s why she sought other thods to align with Holy Spirit to trade for Divine Power Crystals, the most direct way to enhance her own power.

But a god’s strength still cos from having many believers who worship them.

“These hearts, filled with a large amount of positive emotions, are the best ans to attract believers,” Black Ash Knight said as he pulled out a small heart from his own body, “Those aligned with the Order Sanctuary regularly receive one or two enhanced versions of these small hearts? That’s probably a good way to describe it. This small heart can make his believers feel content, joyful, and happy for a short ti, and that’s exactly what the believers want.”

Jiang Qiao roughly understood the operational mode of the Order Sanctuary and… the role of the small heart for the gods.

Believers worship a god primarily as a spiritual support, and perhaps seeking power is a reason too, but satisfying them spiritually is undoubtedly a better tactic.

The Order Sanctuary draws emotions from the residents of the Chaotic Islands they dosticate, turning it into potions or elixirs for those deities.

“Can’t those gods use so sort of spirit magic or hypnotic thods to make their believers happy themselves?” Jiang Qiao asked.

“A god’s power is not omnipotent, though so powerful superior gods do possess many abilities, but…”

“Alright, no need to say more. I know there’s a pitiful little guy like the Lake God.”

Jiang Qiao pinched the second small heart thrown by the Black Ash Knight, feeling that the ’emotions’ stored inside were so abundant it was sowhat terrifying, possibly tens of tis more than those from the NPCs of Biland Island.

“Are you this happy eating a pancake?” Jiang Qiao was instantly shocked. If the emotions inside this small heart were to materialize inside an ordinary person, that person would probably have laughed themselves into unconsciousness.

“I suppose that’s because Black Ash is a part of your divine nature,” the mother finally spoke, “Your Devouring God has devoured countless souls and their existences, and this is also why our Magic Thief can’t steal so of your overly negative skills.”

Jiang Qiao rembered the first ti she t Denghis Xisi, when his apprentices copied the skill Ghost Cry and suddenly exploded to death.

“Let summarize your idea. You an… to install a small heart system for the Holy Spirits as well? And then use their small hearts to attract those lesser gods with few believers?” Jiang Qiao roughly guessed what Black Ash Knight’s plan was.

“The Order Sanctuary cultivates millions of residents on three Chaotic Islands, all living in a wonderful illusion created by the Order Sanctuary. They are the ‘raw materials’ for producing ‘goods,’ and perhaps our Holy Spirits could also produce similar goods.”

“That’s an interesting idea, but I think it could be implented. Combining it with kidnapping and bribing with Divine Power Crystals could be very effective. I will plan it out a bit more.”

Jiang Qiao roughly had an idea what should be updated in the level 65 version.
