Chapter 485: Chapter 470 Fureya Cup (1st Update)

In Gabby Wiz’s Fureya room.

Jiang Qiao stood in the room, which wasn’t particularly luxurious, and seed to still hear the bard’s music and the soft singing of his Fureya.

The real Gabby Wiz had been confird brain-dead ten minutes ago, and his Fureya had also forever closed her eyes after the Soul Fire of the Holy Spirit World dissipated.

But within the ga, his character lay quietly in the arms of Fureya, as if he had just fallen asleep.

“Sweet dreams, Holy Spirit,”

Jiang Qiao didn’t touch anything in the room, and after leaving these words, he walked out of the room.

The death of Gabby Wiz created a massive stir in the gaming circles around the world. After all, he was a world-renowned ga developer; even those who didn’t play gas could learn of his death through the internet.

However, most people online were just following the trend, feeling that when soone died, it was the thing to do to post a few tweets in moriam or to follow the crowd in so way.

The way Jiang Qiao could pay tribute was by preserving his and his Fureya’s room forever and creating two NPCs based on him and his Fureya.

One was called Gabby, a bard… He and his Fureya would sit in a wooden shed cart, possibly appearing anywhere on the main map of the Holy Spirit World.

These two NPCs held hidden quests that spoke of their past, but more often, they would stay in one place for a little while, and if a player encountered them, Gabby would play an unknown tune for the Holy Spirit, while his Fureya would hum along to an equally unknown song.

The two of them would travel together to the ends of the Holy Spirit World and then start over from the endpoint, wandering forever in a never-ending cycle.

In Gabby’s will, he told Jiang Qiao not to reveal his in-ga ID to the outside world because he had friends in the Holy Spirit, and he didn’t want his friends to be disturbed because of his real identity.

Therefore, Jiang Qiao could only commorate the Holy Spirit who had once briefly existed in this world in this way.

It was a hasty story, so rushed that Jiang Qiao could hardly find enough words to describe Gabby Wiz’s life in the Holy Spirit World.

But the legacy Gabby Wiz left behind was bound to cause an uproar in the real world, a storm of blood and violence that would spread to the world of the Holy Spirit.

What Jiang Qiao could do now was to quickly establish the rules for the first Holy Spirit Tournant, starting with the inheritance left by Gabby, which was to be invested entirely in the Holy Spirit Fund.

That was his initial thought. In their communication, Jiang Qiao was moved by the Holy Spirit Fund’s ‘officials not making a penny, everything goes to the players’ type of crazy idea, but perhaps Gabby himself had also noticed sothing during his ti playing the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, after so discussion, Jiang Qiao proposed to award Gabby Wiz’s inheritance annually to the most outstanding players and groups in various fields of the Holy Spirit World. He agreed to Jiang Qiao’s request but also made another stipulation—that NPCs should also be eligible to compete.

So after a series of discussions, the first Fureya Cup of the Holy Spirit Tournant was born, or perhaps the Fureya Award.

The award is a bit like the Nobel Prize, based on the legacy left by Gabby Wiz and managed by the Holy Spirit Fund, with five categories in total: Best Individual Award, Best Team Award, Best Collector, Best Builder, and Best Support Award.

It’s a bit mundane, but Jiang Qiao was just using a simple and understandable term; it wouldn’t be a problem to wrap it up with so cool nas later.

The first award is self-explanatory… the reward for individual competition, which Jiang Qiao decided to give directly as a bonus prize.

The second award is probably of the most interest to the outside world and is the closest to a professional tournant because it requires a team to compete. It is also the core of the Holy Spirit Pro Tournant. The champion, runner-up, and third-place team will receive the controlling interest of the neighboring dispute.

The next three awards are designed for the bigwigs of the lifestyle occupations, with the Best Collector Award focusing on players such as fishern, miners, lumberjacks, herbalists… and so on.

The Best Builder Award is targeting players like architects, Alchemy Engineers, potion brewers, blacksmiths… and others in similar trades.

The Best Support Award is for those players who specialize in buffing and healing others, but can hardly deal any damage themselves and are often abused in the arena team matches by unfriendly assassins with cries of ‘Eat my fist!’

These last three awards also co with bonus prize money.

So how exactly is the competition held? The answer, of course, is the Path to Ascension.

The existence of the Path to Ascension provides Jiang Qiao with a natural set of competition rules and a fair and impartial referee.

However, Jiang Qiao still needed to study for a while to understand the specific competition format, as many chanisms within the Path to Ascension were not entirely clear to him.

During the challenge to beco a Governor, Thorne once ntioned to Jiang Qiao that ‘the Governor’s challenge is not difficult, but there is a limited number of slots. Exactly twelve, no more, no less, and… there’s a high chance of encountering other Challengers, and even the possibility of Guardian difficulty, if soone is interested.’

Jiang Qiao had asked what would happen if the twelve slots were filled and soone still wanted to advance, then the Challenger would have to face the current Governor, and even if the slots weren’t filled, the current Governor could also appear as a Guardian within the Path to Ascension.

The worst part was the possibility of encountering other Challengers, a chanism known as ‘Invasion.’

Given all this, Jiang Qiao established the following qualification rules for the inaugural Holy Spirit World League’s most important ‘team match’.

Firstly, registration required, with the minimum requirent being that one must have secured the Guardian qualification in the Path to Ascension, and register a team of five on the Holy Spirit official website, including the option of one or two substitutes!

Next, the content of the competition, which involved taking on proxy challenges for the Guardian difficulty of five-person team dungeons, with a successful challenge earning one point, and a failed challenge earning none.

In order to limit the damage that die-hard gars might inflict on their livers and to ensure players could reasonably schedule their rest, Jiang Qiao also confined the competition to a set tifra.

The qualifying rounds were only open from Friday to Sunday each week, with available tis from noon until eight in the evening, over a duration of three months.

After three months, the twelve teams with the highest scores would advance to… the Governor Challenge Match.

Taking into account all of the above, this might seem like a rather uninspiring PVE competition, but due to the Path to Ascension’s ‘Invasion’ chanic, a match could turn into PVPVE, aning two teams battling each other while also confronting the Guardians within the Path to Ascension.

After completing the set of rules, Jiang Qiao launched the promotion page for the Holy Spirit World League—Fureya Cup on the official website, along with the corresponding registration page.

Having finished all these tasks, Jiang Qiao began to look through various online ssages, and just as he anticipated, rather than focusing on Gabby’s death, more people were concerned about why his legacy was left to Holy Spirit players?

Besides a portion of players who had not obtained the eligibility to play Holy Spirit expressing sour grapes, the sponsors who had supported the Conflict League and the company’s shareholders declared that this will was invalid.

But such protests were aningless because the Holy Spirit Fund was a legitimate trust organization and most of the assets ntioned in Gabby’s will were under the custody of the Holy Spirit Fund.

Winning the Holy Spirit World League would an inheriting the shares of Conflict, and even though it was only for a year, a year was enough to do a lot of things. Not only were players excited, but upon realizing this, the capital investors behind the scenes began to take action as well.

However, the world of Holy Spirit was not one where these capitalists could dominate; this domain was ruled by the players.
