Chapter 480: Chapter 465: You Haven’t Realized the Seriousness of the Situation (2nd Update)

Skagryn, many years ago, was an extrely important energy source gathering plane for the Creator’s Sanctuary.

The creatures of this plane solidified within them a type of crystal that contained imnse energy… the Mother Crystal.

The Mother Crystal was considered to be a high-energy aggregate just like the Divine Power Crystal, only that the Mother Crystal could be used to grow various strange and bizarre tals, while the Divine Power Crystal was a more pure energy aggregate.

But as far as serving as batteries go, both crystals perford the sa function.

Today’s Skagryn has beco one of the main bases of the Void Swarm, but in the Path to Ascension, Skagryn still maintains its original state.

The Path to Ascension recorded a minor war that occurred on Skagryn, a defensive battle known as absolutely unwinnable.

A squad from the Creator’s Sanctuary, with only forty-one remaining mbers, managed to repel the incoming Void Swarm army and defended the energy core of the fortress.

Afterward, the mories branded in the minds of these forty-one people were transford into an ‘instance’ in the Path to Ascension… a legion seeking to advance to the Governor rank.

But even with knowledge of this battle’s history, restoring this legendary battle proved extrely difficult.

Today, Rosh stood on the ground of the Skagryn fortress, looking up at the walls around her, towering up to four ters high as cold, bone-chilling snow grains fell from the sky.

The average temperature of this planetary plane known as Skagryn was minus thirty-two degrees, with constant snowfall; during this period, the energy shield inside the fortress had completely failed.

The cold wind swept directly into the fortress, and even though Rosh had the bloodline of the God of Blazing Fla, wearing only a thin shirt, her body temperature rapidly decreased under the assault of the cold wind.

What should she do?

Rosh cast her gaze around the nearly desolate fortress, with scarce functional weapons remaining inside.

Now that the shackles on Rosh had disappeared, her hands were empty, and even the lowest-level Void Swarm creatures with fla attributes could finish her off.

There were still two minutes left for preparation before the battle officially began…

At this mont, Rosh glanced back at the fully ard Hunter soldiers behind her; they did not rush to kill Rosh.

Was there still a possibility for negotiation?

Rosh rembered that a small portion of the Hunters had a relatively good relationship with her, and as she contemplated whether to negotiate with them…

“Caught a strange guy! Where did he co from?”

“What strange guy?”

Rosh’s train of thought was quickly interrupted by another group of Hunters, as one of them suddenly grabbed a figure extrely familiar to Rosh and threw him in front of the group of Hunters.

It was Yin Hui… Yin Hui got captured again!

The ropes now binding Yin Hui had changed from the original coarse hemp ropes to specialized restraints used by the Creator’s Sanctuary, designed for natural disasters.

But fundantally, both hands were still bound tightly…

Rosh, seeing Yin Hui suddenly appear here, held back from exclaiming in surprise.

“We et again.”

But when Yin Hui saw Rosh, he directly called out a greeting, causing all the Hunters, already in a highly strung state, to turn their gazes towards Rosh.

“He’s not part of the Path to Ascension?” In an instant, all these Hunters realized this.

“Why are you here?”

Rosh could no longer care about responding to the soldiers, and directly questioned why Yin Hui had mistakenly entered her Path to Ascension trial.

“Let’s not worry about that for now. I ca to ask you sothing, which of these Hunters can be trusted? There is only one minute left before the attack begins, and we don’t have the luxury of delay,” Yin Hui completely lacked the awareness that he had over fifty weapons pointed at his head.

“What did you say?”

The Hunter who had caught Yin Hui grew sowhat agitated and grabbed Yin Hui’s collar.

“Stop! Tai Rui!” Rosh shouted out the Hunter’s na, telling him not to be so violent.

“You really think you’re the captain?” The Hunter questioned Rosh, but suddenly soone behind him was pointed at with a gun by another Hunter.

“Captain… I’m telling you to stop, obey the command.”

In this squad of Hunters, only three complied with Rosh’s commands; the Hunters from the Sustainable Sanctuary were also divided into two factions, each aligning with a Governor.

These three Hunters who chose to follow Rosh’s orders were probably from the faction of Governor Alma, but they were now faced with the barrels of the other Hunters’ guns.

“My command is the only command,” said the Hunter who had grabbed Yin Hui by the collar.

But before Rosh could speak, Yin Hui let out an exclamation of “Aiyah”…

“I originally thought distinguishing between you would take a little ti, but now it’s quite clear, so let’s not waste words…” Yin Hui’s initially playful tone gradually turned icy, and finally, he moved his lips and uttered two words, “Do it!”

The instant those two words were spoken, the Hunters seed to realize sothing, but it was already too late.

The enormous sound of gunfire tore through the silence of the sky, a fatal bullet severing the curtain of snow in mid-air… then it grazed past Yin Hui’s ear, slicing through his silvery-gray hair, accompanied by the sound of a mask shattering and bones breaking.

The bullet hit its mark with precision, striking the Hunter before Yin Hui between the eyes! The Hunter stepped back, his hand losing strength and releasing Yin Hui’s collar, before falling to the ground. His final view was of Yin Hui’s pale silver pupils and the sky stained with fresh blood.

“Ambush!”

The mont their temporary leader was attacked and killed, the Hunter squad demonstrated their excellent tactical training. However, by the ti they pointed their guns in all directions, it was already too late.

A predatory tiger sprang forth from hiding, along with quantum bombs raining down from the sky and hundreds of bullets, each marked with a skull, joined by a silver-white streak of a shot that pierced through the center of the whole squad.

The elite strategists of the Vibrating Nucleus showed their textbook-style ambush in that mont.

Control squads led by mages and Gun Masters released their area control abilities in one fell swoop, trapping the Hunters with acid rain and molten ground, blocking their paths and movent.

Afterward, the assault team and the snipers were in charge of sweeping away all of the opposing Hunters!

The Hunters who followed Rosh hadn’t intended to fight; their mission was simply to kill Rosh when the ti was up.

Nor did they expect that a group of outsiders would burst into the sacred Path to Ascension!

Despite the sudden attack, a few Hunters managed to react, quickly breaking away from the encirclent of the Vibrating Nucleus’ elite and finding cover to aim their guns at Rosh.

Their task was to kill Rosh after the mission countdown ended; now they didn’t need to care about those unexpected holy spirits, just kill Rosh.

But before the lucky escaping Hunters had a chance to pull the trigger, Wan Xiang, already in ambush high above, had pulled the trigger first. The exploding bullet from Death Ode once again penetrated a Hunter’s mask.

Yet this Hunter withstood the shot, but what faced the one who survived it was a spectral tiger and dragon snapping at his shadow.

More accurately, it was Zhao Mingwei’s hand reaching out…

Zhao Mingwei grabbed the Hunter by his mask, his imnse strength pinning the Hunter to the ground. The Charged Thought Cannon released directly in the palm of Zhao Mingwei’s hand, exploding less than one milliter from the Hunter’s cheek.

Light and arcs burst forth from Zhao Mingwei’s palm, but he still didn’t die.

The health points of these Hunters ranged from one hundred thousand to two million, fluctuating greatly due to their various races.

But having played the ga for so long, Zhao Mingwei knew that sotis killing humanoid monsters didn’t require checking health points; you just needed to destroy their fatal parts.

The fatal part of this humanoid monster was his brain.

“Sleep,” Zhao Mingwei whispered.

After the Charged Thought Cannon exploded right next to its face, Zhao Mingwei placed his hand against the Hunter’s forehead, then drove his Spiral Telekinesis Field directly into the Hunter’s body.

This was a technique that would have no effect on players because players were beings of energy, without the concept of flesh and blood, but it was lethal for these living NPCs.

Rampant telekinetic energy nearly tore every organ in the Hunter’s body. In the end, the Hunter lay peacefully on the ground, lifeless.

Zhao Mingwei would only resort to such a lethal move against the soldiers of the Annihilation Legion, but in the Path to Ascension, the concept of death did not exist. Lifeforms that died in the Path to Ascension would be reborn outside. For Zhao Mingwei to first stun his opponent before killing was already the greatest rcy.

When Zhao Mingwei had dealt with his assigned three Hunters, he stood up and looked around to see that others from the Vibrating Nucleus had also finished off their targets one after another.

Bodies lay everywhere within the fortress for a mont, all turning into dissipating light.

The ga Spirit had recently updated a special setting for kill and wound effects, which can be purchased additionally in the store.

For instance, there were effects like realistic blood plasma, as well as more fanciful effects like rainbows and candies.

Zhao Mingwei didn’t use those… The kill effect he was using now was the candy effect, so the ground was now covered with various odd candy marks.

After killing about forty Hunters, what remained were only Rosh and those three Hunters still loyally at his side.

Those three Hunters were clearly in a highly strung state of mind, suddenly faced with a group of people who had killed all their companions… It was sure to cause extre tension.

This all seed like a scene straight out of a horror movie.

“Who are you?” Finally, one of the Hunters spoke up loudly.

“Don’t be afraid, we are professional Spirit account boosters,” Yin Hui finally got a chance to properly speak with his client. He approached Rosh and said, “Welco back, player Rosh.”
