Chapter 461: Chapter 446: The Helplessness of Adults (First Update)
Uptown Blossom Plaza…
Caral’s Moonlight Sword drew a fatal arc… With one strike, Thorne’s wooden stick flew into the sky, but at the sa ti, Thorne’s palm transford into a sword, piercing through Caral’s chest.
It was the seven hundred and twenty-fourth challenge against Thorne, failed… Challenge ti: ten minutes and twenty-one seconds.
Caral’s figure turned into specks of light and dissipated on the platform.
He hadn’t joined Cola Madness in attending the Spirit Conference, he hadn’t even gone out of the club’s doors.
Ever since his loss to Juan Canyun at the World Championship, Caral had been imrsing himself crazily in Spirit, battling in the ladder of the arena. He was still the top of the server, but the dal of Unrivaled National Hero had already been taken by Zhao Mingwei.
“Not bad.” Thorne lightly touched his brow with his fingertips, a small wound appeared there, and blood slid down his nose.
The brow is the Swordsman’s vital point, the fact that Caral’s sword reached Thorne’s brow already signified his improvent.
“That’s just ‘not bad’?” Caral sat down beneath the platform; the setbacks he’d experienced recently were just too nurous. Aside from being defeated by Thorne, he was also beaten by an outsider NPC, the Eternal Hilze’er, in the Spirit Challenge Match.
Although after the match, Caral saw in the replays that his defeat ca from his opponent using a move that exceeded the ga system’s record… but a loss is a loss.
“What do you think, then? There are countless strong individuals on the Star Chart… Do you really believe that defeating ans you are the best in the world?” Thorne spoke as he welcod the second challenger. “Besides, you rely too much on your own gaming skills… Spirit.”
“Gaming skills?” Caral paused slightly when he heard Thorne utter these words.
He looked at the Moonlight Sword in his hand; from the beginning to the end, Caral had treated Spirit as a ga, a ga all about data.
Aside from battling crazily in the arena to climb the ranks, Caral’s thod to beco stronger was equipnt crafting, endlessly enhancing equipnt stats by various ans and using different gear sets for different battles.
Just for fighting Thorne, Caral had a whole seven sets in his bag!
As a ga player, an absolute hardcore player, Caral was impeccable, but as a Swordsman?
“This body of Spirit holds too much potential, why don’t you try to unearth it?” Thorne looked at Caral lost in thought, but unfortunately, as Thorne finished speaking, the tremors of the earth and explosions outside Blossom Plaza shattered all the glass in the plaza.
Currently, there are only two areas in the world: Uptown and Jiang City, so the two areas are connected.
The destruction caused by the Colossi of the Legion of Oblivion that appeared in the Wu District of Jiang City had already affected the Uptown area.
“Abyss Hunt?” Caral actually wasn’t interested when he saw this ssage pop up.
In his eyes, the Abyss Hunt was just an ordinary instance for producing Special Equipnt. Caral’s equipnt was already at graduation level; a high-level player like him no longer needed to grind instances for equipnt.
But in the Spirit Quarrel Group chat, Cola Madness had already started forming a group to enter the Abyss Hunt instance, and Bubble was frantically @ntioning asking, ‘Is Caral around?’
When the boss gave an order… Caral, the working bee, had no choice but to follow along and head into the instance.
However, as he was putting away his Moonlight Sword and preparing to rush to the frontline battlefield, he saw a familiar figure entering the Blossom Plaza.
Silver Boss…
“Thorne!” The mont Silver Boss walked into Blossom Plaza, he shouted Thorne’s na loudly; at that ti, there were only five players in the plaza.
As ti went on, the players challenging Thorne were essentially only the top 500 ladder behemoths, and with the opening of the Abyss Hunt, Thorne’s platform had beco even more deserted.
So the loud shout from Silver didn’t catch anyone’s attention.
“Is there sothing wrong, Holy Spirit?” Thorne once again slew a challenger when Silver arrived at the edge of the arena, scanning the crowd as if searching for sothing.
“Did you see an Eternal nad Rosh?” Silver, unable to spot Rosh near the bustling square, directly questioned Thorne.
“Rosh? Never seen her,” Thorne replied.
“You know Rosh?”
Silver instantly detected sothing unusual in Thorne’s tone, which usually sounded like he was half-asleep no matter when he spoke.
Yet, the mont Silver ntioned Rosh, Thorne’s voice underwent a subtle change, one that he quickly masked.
“I know her, a very troubleso character,” Thorne generously admitted to knowing Rosh.
“Only troubleso?”
Although Silver had limited interactions with Thorne, Silver knew that Thorne considered no Holy Spirit worth his attention; he was a Swordsman prouder than anyone else. Therefore, there was no reason for him to describe an Eternal, who was only on par with Caral or perhaps even weaker, as troubleso.
“The information you want isn’t with ; pressing further is just a waste of ti,” Thorne said as another challenger stepped into the arena.
“Need help?”
Caral rarely saw Silver so out of sorts. Cola Frenzy and Nuclear Pop frequently had training matches, and both guilds got along very well. In Caral’s past experiences, Silver had always been overly optimistic.
“Cola Frenzy could use your help,” Silver had already posted a reward for finding Rosh on the Holy Spirit forum.
He didn’t utilize Nuclear Pop’s combat force to deliberately search for Rosh because the front lines were tense against the Annihilation Legion, and it made no sense to divert too many player resources to look for a missing NPC.
“Just help your Guild Master; if you encounter an NPC nad Rosh on the way, let know or give her a hand,” Silver said.
Caral nodded slightly and was about to leave when suddenly, Silver’s in-ga avatar froze in place.
Glancing at the friends list, Caral saw that Silver had been forcibly logged out… Worried, Caral sent a ssage to the guild leader’s bubble.
‘Hotpot Prince? He might have been caught by the sponsor, huh? That I can’t fix! Co quickly, Caral! These Golems are really tough!’
Caral couldn’t rescue Silver in the real world; with no other option, he grabbed his Moonlight Sword and charged towards the battlefield.
anwhile, Silver was indeed caught.
His VR headset was forcibly removed, and as his surroundings shifted from the vibrant square of the upper city to a secluded corner of the technology museum at Wu University, just as Silver was about to explode and demand “Who did this?”…
A barrage of caras and incessant flashes in front of him made him swallow back his complaints.
A group of reporters had already surrounded him, standing before them was the chairman of the Strife Alliance, whom Silver rembered should be nad Yuan Shu, along with a few representatives of the sponsor daddies.
He was caught.
Without any panic, Silver, with a comrcial smile plastered on his face, stepped out from the VR equipnt.
