Chapter 169: Chapter 168 The Beginning of Conflict (Third Update)

“Descendant of the Devouring God, why is there an elf infected with the crystallization disease mingling among you?”

War God Urd stared at Bai Yu, wrapped in the Earth Mother Goddess’s vines on the tree trunk. Although Bai Yu had already been turned into a utility person by Jiang Qiao, he still carried the scent of crystallization disease infection.

“Damn it! He’s the lady boss of our Black Wind Village! Hurry up and release the magical restraints!”

Shen ng glanced at the interface where he had hired Bai Yu, who was losing health at a rate of five hundred points per second. Bai Yu’s total health was only one hundred thousand to begin with, and at this rate, it wouldn’t be long before his health would be completely depleted and he would kick the bucket.

This made Shen ng lose face.

“Black Wind Village?”

Urd was a bit confused when he heard this odd na. In his mory, these people were supposed to be the holy spirits under the Devouring God, but this self-proclaid title sounded like sothing bandits would use? Translated, it ant the fortress of the black wind, which didn’t sound like a good organization at all.

Moreover, these holy spirits had suddenly surrounded them, which seed quite ill-intentioned.

Because of this, War God Urd focused his gaze on Jiang Qiao, who had already given instructions to Queen i during this ti.

Miss Cat, played by Queen i, disappeared from the spot and reappeared above the branch where Bai Yu was restrained.

Queen i swung her longsword, cutting off the vines of the Earth Mother Goddess that were wrapped around Bai Yu.

No sooner had Bai Yu been freed from his bindings than he picked up his longbow like a madman, intending to continue attacking the Earth Mother Goddess, but Queen i directly knocked him on the head with the hilt of her sword.

A damage of -1234 popped up above Bai Yu’s head, and the next second, he went into a coma.

“Why is Miss Cat also bullying our second-in-command?”

“Brother ng, we’re not going to have to beat up Miss Cat too, are we?”

“Perfect, we can capture her and make her the new lady boss!”

Bai Yu is the second lady, not the second-in-command!

Shen ng really wanted to tell his stream viewers this. Soon after Miss Cat had knocked out Bai Yu, several vines attempted to wrap around Bai Yu and strangle him.

But they were all severally cut off by Queen i.

“Descendant of the Devouring God, if you want to personally purify this crystallization disease sufferer, please feel free.”

Seeing Queen i take action, War God Urd also signaled the Earth Mother Goddess not to continue attempting to kill the elf.

Queen i grabbed Bai Yu by the collar on the trunk and directly jumped to Shen ng’s side with him, tossing the comatose Bai Yu next to Shen ng’s mount.

“May I ask, descendant of the Devouring God, what do you an by this?” Urd’s face carried a smile, but it was already filled with a faint hostility.

The expression on the three-colored cat hood atop Queen i’s head changed to (.•ˇˍˇ•.), and her figure stood in front of Shen ng and the many players of Black Wind Village.

“The task you assigned us was to purify the crystallization of this island. As for the process and thod of purification… these are none of your concern.”

Queen i’s statent was recited according to the script given by Jiang Qiao, but it seed that the Earth Mother Goddess had a special obsession with Bai Yu.

The mont Queen i’s words fell, the ground once again sprouted a multitude of vines that shot towards Bai Yu behind her.

Queen i swung her longsword, and a light from the sword arc flashed. Cold blood spread from the blade, leaving deep crimson sword marks on the ground five ters away.

All the rising vines were severally cut by Queen i.

“Miss Cat seems to be on our side, huh.”

“Big Dream, do we charge in or not?” The Swordsman Mo Dao whispered to Chen ng, clearly hinting at a hidden quest—a quest that could only be triggered by having the NPC Bai Yu in their team, it’s just that no prompt had appeared.

“Charge in, my ass. Haven’t you noticed that even if we switch to PK mode, we can’t target those two NPCs? They are under system protection, just like the NPCs in Lionheart City.”

Chen ng also really wanted to charge in. She wanted to snatch the charming and adorable Miss Cat and take her ho, but the problem was that neither Miss Cat nor the two newly appeared NPCs could be attacked.

“I understand.” The avatar of the War God Urd felt the hostile glares of the surrounding spirits. If he continued, he might very well end up entering an instance.

The crystallization on Biland Island was still very severe and required the power of the Devouring God to purify, so now was not the ti to be enemies with the Devouring God.

“My followers will start hunting down those Magic Thieves and all those infected with the crystal disease on the island, so if you wish to protect that elf and keep her safe, please don’t let her stray too far from your base…”

After leaving these words, the figure of War God Urd and the Earth Mother Goddess disappeared in front of all the players.

“Here’s the question, when do these two NPCs jump into an instance?”

“Just display their health bars directly, why do they need to enter an instance?”

Queen i quietly listened to the players’ discussions around her, feeling sowhat apprehensive. She sent a ssage to Jiang Qiao.

‘Is this really okay?’

‘Of course it’s fine… We ca here to strip Biland Island of its resources, specifically to hunt those lord-level monsters. The Magic Thieves are just a side quest. Whether the players want to save the Magic Thieves or join War God Urd in annihilating them, it’s up to the players’ own choices.’

Jiang Qiao didn’t think there was anything inappropriate about this. After all, helping those with the crystal disease without stopping players from grinding and leveling up was just an interesting choice during gaplay. Jiang Qiao didn’t plan to interfere with this choice.

‘Rather than that, i, I think you should start thinking about how to escape now.’ Jiang Qiao sent another ssage.

‘Escape?’

Queen i seed to realize sothing. When she looked back, Chen ng had already dismounted and was getting uncomfortably close to her.

“Miss Cat, may I have a look under your headgear?” Chen ng said in a low voice.

It might have been an illusion, but Queen i felt a heavy panting in Chen ng’s voice as she spoke.

The mont Queen i swung her sword, Chen ng thought of Queen i’s true form, so when Chen ng reached towards her, Queen i’s calico cat headgear expression instantly turned into (ºДº*).

“Miss Cat has run away!”

“Quick, chase her down!”

Queen i, unable to harm players, had no choice but to backflip onto a tree branch and then sprinted toward the starting base. The people of Black Wind Village, of course, could not tolerate letting a wild Miss Cat escape, so a crowd rushed toward the starting base thunderously.

“Am I not utterly useless?” Jiang Qiao, left all alone, watched the group depart, but he glanced at Queen i’s live streaming page, where everyone was spamming ‘Don’t run, Miss Cat… It’s fun to be the bandit chief’s wife!’

Jiang Qiao wondered what the Yellow Hornet Knights and Lion Heart Knights would think upon seeing this string of bullet comnts, but when he logged out of Queen i’s stream and instinctually checked what Add Milk No Extra Charge was up to, the title of Add Milk No Extra Charge’s live stream nearly made Jiang Qiao spit again.

“Finally sneaked into the real lair of the Magic Thieves! I’m about to start live streaming the looting of the Magic Thieves’ den!”

Are you the expert they talk about when referring to photo opportunities?

While other players were busy establishing their bases, Add Milk No Extra Charge had once again started a new instance.
