Chapter 147: Chapter 146: Island Tycoon (2nd Update)

Jiang Qiao and Hai Lan did not wait for the ship to arrive at the temporary port on Biland Island.

They directly descended onto the ship from the sky in the form of flying.

Although it was three o’clock in the morning, there were still hundreds of players busily establishing their bases on Biland Island. Even if a player discovered the ship and posted a screenshot of it on the forum,

it would definitely lead to conclusions like “I know! What’s this hidden quest?” being deduced, followed by a crowd flocking to the port to greet everyone on the ship.

Jiang Qiao might have to cooperate by releasing so hidden quests later, but for now… the ship was already near Biland Island, and likely so players had spotted the vessel sailing under the cover of night.

“Who’s there?”

...

The sailors on board noticed Jiang Qiao and Hai Lan descending from the sky. Jiang Qiao released the wind spirit he had been holding. Elental Summoners don’t have flying skills and, while wind spirits can fly, Jiang Qiao had banned their ability to carry people for the sake of occupational balance.

But now they were beyond the ga, in the real world.

“We’re friends of Lyla Ferisi, go call her,” Jiang Qiao said.

“I’m right here.”

Lyla erged from the captain’s cabin, now dressed not in military uniform but in plain civilian clothes.

What caught Jiang Qiao’s attention was the absence of Lyla’s jewelry, rings, and earrings.

Could it be that she had sold all these pieces to buy vegetables?

“Please co in, let’s talk inside,” Lyla said, gesturing towards the captain’s cabin.

Jiang Qiao and Hai Lan walked into the captain’s cabin together. This ship was not the warship that had brought Lyla here before, but a rchant ship instead.

Lyla had sohow bypassed the surveillance of the Solar Empire and made her way to the vicinity of Biland Island. The sailors on board were as tense as if surrounded by sea monsters and pirates.

After all, the waters around the island were indeed full of sea monsters.

The crystalline disease had already spread in the water, and realizing this, Jiang Qiao… knew that eliminating the crystalline disease might only begin with purifying Biland Island.

What was worse…

“I guess there are quite a few in your country who want to steal the power of Biland Island?” Jiang Qiao glanced at the furnishings in the captain’s cabin, noting a map of the Solar Empire and Biland Island on the table, with Lyla sketching sothing on it with a pen.

“…Yes, the Magic Thieves were created by them,” Lyla said.

“You’ve gathered this information so quickly? I thought you’d have to witness so truths and go through a breakdown before barely escaping with your life to help us get supplies,”

Actually, Jiang Qiao had already imagined a whole host of scenarios for Lyla’s return to the Solar Empire. In theory, Lyla could be the script for a sixty-four-episode drama filled with shattered beliefs, betrayal, friendship, and love—all mixed together, the kind with a viewership rating of 2.4.

Yep… pretty lodramatic.

“I did indeed get chased down, but… your Knight helped out,” Lyla took out the red crystal Jiang Qiao had given her, her voice carrying a trace of fear as she ntioned the Wasp Knight.

“Oh, and the old man elent in the ring, I guess I’m your golden finger,” Jiang Qiao said a few more things Lyla did not understand.

“I’ve been trying to contact those forces opposed to the crystalline experints, and there’s so progress already,” Lyla said hastily.

“Stop, I’m not interested in the life and death of your country, including power struggles or the adolescent notion that ‘only by relying on the power of the crystals can this country be saved.’ You’re a rchant, a rchant who brings supplies to . I’m only concerned about what vegetables you’ve brought today.”

Jiang Qiao didn’t really want to get involved in the struggles of this world because… it was rather pointless.

It was like no one would care about the war between iron and copper veins within a mine; as a miner, you just needed to dig all the ore out.

The only thing in this world that Jiang Qiao cared about was whether there might be any descendants of Queen i, residents from Hai Lan’s original world, or Divine Fragnts.

“The supplies are all in the ship’s hold. I bought a lot of food and seeds for plants, and also three Warm Water Cows, ten Fla-Eyed Ducks, and ten Thorny Chickens. I don’t know how to raise them, and so seem like they’re about to die,” Lyla said, looking embarrassed, and turned her pleading eyes to Jiang Qiao and Hai Lan.

“Don’t look at ; I don’t know how to raise cows or chickens either. She, on the other hand, knows a hundred ways to eat a cow.”

Jiang Qiao really hadn’t expected Lyla to literally move an entire farm over, but now the players at the base had started playing gas like Mine Story and Factory Tycoon. Would any players want to play Farm Story?

Chicken, cows, sheep, creatures like these were rely for amusent in the ga, or they could be food for Miss Fureya.

And they were very difficult to raise, but… wait a minute…

“What kind of duck, cow, and chicken did you say?” Jiang Qiao suddenly rembered the prefixes that seed very powerful when Lyla ntioned those ingredients.

“Warm Water Cows, Fla-Eyed Ducks, and Thorny Chickens. These are all livestock with a low content of magic power,” Lyla explained.

“How are these creatures different from those without any magic power?” Jiang Qiao asked.

“Harder to raise? Fla-Eyed Ducks can spit tiny flas, and the first ti you eat them, you might feel your veins swell up because of the magic power, but holy spirits shouldn’t.”

Lyla recalled the earlier scenes where she ‘confronted’ players on the island, and her serious expression almost cracked and broke.

“Only in a world of magic would you get chickens like these. Are there any of higher quality?” Jiang Qiao thought for a mont and decided to integrate the ranching system as well, whether players would be interested or not was up to them.

But these enchanted chickens and ducks had a lot of potential for evolution. If soone wanted to catch them as pets… Jiang Qiao thought it would be more practical to catch the monsters on Biland Island instead.

But the dishes made from them would be enchanted!

“Yes, there are many, but those are too expensive,” Lyla sighed.

“I’ll find a way to fund you, but when you’re pursuing your revenge, or doing whatever your main quest, just rember that this here is also a main quest,” Jiang Qiao said.

Jiang Qiao opened his backpack, pondering what he could sell in this world. According to the usual trope, it should be those special HP potions.

But those potions only worked on holy spirits and NPCs within holy spirits.

“Mr. Representative, there’s one more thing.” Lyla seed to struggle internally before she spoke to Jiang Qiao, “Your knights saved a few poor souls when they destroyed the Crystal Altar at Osprey Port.”

“You an for to save them?”

Lyla’s lips pressed together as she spoke to Jiang Qiao; her pride seed to prevent her from making any additional requests to Jiang Qiao. But Lyla’s kindness did not allow her to turn a blind eye to those in need.

“I’m short on a few NPCs anyway. Let’s see if we can make them into tool people,” Jiang Qiao muttered under his breath, and Lyla successfully eavesdropped on him.

“Tool people?” Why did Lyla think that description sounded a bit scary?

“It’s nothing, it’s nothing. Take to see those wounded,” Jiang Qiao quickly said, his earlier murmur was just a joke.

It was indeed just a joke. As for why the Wasp Knight hadn’t reported this to Jiang Qiao, well, that knight probably didn’t pay those people any mind; who the enemy was, was what mattered most to her.
