For a mont, Lucan rely stood there as flas flickering weakly around his blade.

Then, to everyone's surprise, the flas around his body intensified—suddenly taking on a deep crimson red, as if his very lifeblood were being thrown into the fire.

A faint crackling echoed in the air around Lucan. Straining against his own limits, he spat a mouthful of blood onto the ground, the droplets igniting in wisps of scarlet fla.

As the essence of his life force rged with his sword aura, Lucan's presence expanded ominously, and his gaze beca wild, almost feral.

After Lucan's stats doubled as he burned his blood essence, bringing them close to Dante's overall stats.

Across from Lucan, Dante raised an eyebrow as he felt the potent wave of energy surging from Lucan. A chilly smile spread across his face. "You really want to push yourself that far, huh?" he muttered, half to himself. "Fine by ."

With his blood essence ablaze, Lucan charged forward in a blur of searing light. Despite Dante's earlier dominance, Lucan's sudden burst of speed and strength forced him to block in earnest. Their blades clashed in a dazzling spray of sparks as dark energy t a scorching fla.

Dante slid backward as his boots carved shallow grooves in the ground. He'd barely steadied his stance before Lucan continued his assault.

"Molten Cyclone!" Lucan roared, spinning on his heel. A vortex of infernal flas swirled around him, expanding outwards in a spiral of crimson fire.

Dante sprang away, letting a thin smile curl at his lips. Yet unlike before, where he effortlessly evaded, this ti the heat grazed him.

The edge of his cloak caught alight, forcing him to snuff out the embers with a quick snap of dark energy.

Lucan pressed on. He charged at Dante with a rapid flurry of overhead slashes, every strike trailing tongues of livid fla that left scorch marks on the ground.

For a brief mont, Dante's features were set in concentration. He used [Shadowld] and [Shadow Step] skills to slip around Lucan's onslaught, but each feint demanded precise timing. The difference in Lucan's power was plain as he was no longer a re annoyance.

Lucan then ignited a swirling corona of flas around the length of his blade as he used his [Firestorm Blade] skill.

Whipping his sword in a diagonal arc, he unleashed a tide of blazing energy that rippled outward, forcing Dante to counter with a [Dark Slash] skill.

Fla and shadow collided head-on, bursting into a shower of sparks and black embers that fell on both fighters.

Lucan seized this opportunity to dart through the dying sparks. His sword flashed forward in a ruthless thrust aid at Dante's body.

The tip nearly connected with Dante's side, but Dante twisted at the last instant, turning a fatal blow into a glancing slash across his ribs. A stray line of blood traced Dante's black tunic as he retreated.

Surprise flickered across Lucan's face. He had actually drawn blood from this wraith-like foe. For a heartbeat, hope flared within him as he thought to himself–maybe he could win.

Dante touched the cut on his ribs, inspecting the blood on his fingertips. "Impressive," he remarked quietly.

His smirk widened, and the air around him darkened as though in response to his mood. "That's not bad at all."

Lucan sucked in a terrified breath, realizing he needed to take advantage of the situation before his blood essence ran out. The searing agony in his chest and the lightheadedness at the fringe of his vision alerted him that ti was running out.

Lucan suddenly flung his blade above. The crimson glow that surrounded it grew stronger, transitioning from a flickering aura to a solid column of fla rising far into the sky.

A deafening roar reverberated through the battlefield, and a looming pressure descended, as though the air were on the verge of combustion.

"FLA TYRANT'S WRATH!" Lucan shouted.

This was the pinnacle of his sword-arts, a technique he had never mastered without consequence to himself. But now, with his blood essence fueling him, he was prepared to pay the cost.

Up above, the flas shaped themselves into what looked like the maw of a colossal fire dragon. Its jaws parted, ready to spew an inferno that could reduce entire platoons to ashes.

Every observer felt the horrifying magnitude of Lucan's power; even Garran appeared nervous because he had experienced the might of this move and knew that it wasn't an attack that could be taken lightly as he had to beco serious when he confronted it previously.

Cain, sitting on his sofa, observed calmly, his lips curving slightly in amusent. "That's quite the last stand," he murmured.

Lucan swung his sword down, and the fire dragon descended from the sky, unleashing all the destructive force of his ultimate skill toward Dante.

Just as the flaming dragon's jaws were about to engulf him, Dante exhaled as he let the dormant power within him surge forward.

A dark, demonic aura burst into being around him. Flickers of crimson fire danced across his body as he finally used his first tailed Heavenly Demonic Fox bloodline for the first ti, doubling his stats.
