SSS Ranked Summoning: I'm An Extra With The Strongest Harem System Chapter 58: Through The Flicker of Light
The bright flash of light hit his eyes, causing a sharp sting that made him squint almost imdiately.
But this wasn’t like the usual blinding lights he’d seen before. No, this one was different—almost... familiar. It felt like déjà vu, the kind that gnawed at your mind, pulling you into mories that weren’t quite yours.
Sothing about it felt like it belonged to soone else, or rather, to his forr self.
He blinked, trying to make sense of it, but the flicker ca again—faster, more intense. A vision. The sa vision, over and over. It felt like ti was collapsing in on him.
What is this? His thoughts scread as he tried to comprehend what he was seeing.
The bludgeon. The hamr. It was a vision that clung to his mind like a dark, unresolved mory. The handle slick with fresh, thick blood, dripping slowly, pooling onto the ground. The tallic scent hit his senses, sharp and suffocating, a cruel reminder of sothing terrible. The hamr swung, its tip stained with crimson, the blood spreading outward in slow, deliberate arcs, staining the world around it.
Another flicker.
His mind scrambled to grasp the fleeting image. A leg—hanging unnaturally in mid-air, twisted at an impossible angle. He caught sight of it from the front, the pale skin stark against the shadows. A girl? No—wait. The uncertainty gnawed at him, the fleeting glimpse slipping away just as quickly as it ca.
His heart thundered in his chest, his pulse racing with the weight of what he had seen.
Then ca the final vision. This ti, it wasn’t the sa. Sothing had shifted. This vision was different.
’What... am I seeing?’
Before him stood Mikey—or rather, the version of him that could be. His future self. The figure was taller, more imposing, with long hair that cascaded down in a way that was surprisingly well-kept, but his face—his face—was sothing else entirely. There was a harshness to it, a cruel twist in his features that made his expression almost unrecognizable. It was darker, colder, a look that seed to pull the warmth from the room, leaving nothing but a suffocating chill in its place.
The silent presence of his future self weighed heavily in the air. No words were exchanged, but the very sight of him was enough to make the atmosphere feel thick, oppressive, as if the room itself was holding its breath. His gaze was intense, filled with sothing sharp and dangerous. The kind of aura that pulsed around him, dark and foreboding, as if every step he took left a shadow in its wake.
’Is that what I’ll beco?’
He opened his mouth to say sothing, anything at all, but before any words could escape, another flash of bright light struck his vision. His body jerked, the world going white, and then, it was all gone. His eyelids fluttered open, slow and heavy.
The disorientation was intense as he tried to make sense of where he was.
A dim light greeted him. The room was poorly lit, with shadows dancing across the walls. The faint sound of murmurs echoed in the distance, but the atmosphere was thick with an eerie stillness. His gaze shifted, trying to focus on his surroundings.
’ Bars. Prison.’
He was in a prison cell, no, a prison block. The walls were cold and gray, the air stagnant. A few guards stood near the entrance, all dressed in the sa white uniforms of the tropolitan enforcers. He blinked, trying to piece things together.
’That’s odd...Why am I here? What happened?’
Then, cutting through the thick silence, a soft cough echoed from within the cell. Mikey’s gaze snapped toward the sound, his eyes quickly scanning the shadows beyond the bars, searching for the source.
’What the fuck...?’
He had definitely heard it. His mind raced as he tried to make sense of it.
’A prisoner? ohh right, noone in the future can see in future, so being in a prison cell isn’t really that dangerous.’
Still, the silence that followed was heavy, as if the world itself had paused.
And then, suddenly, a hand shot out from between the bars. The movent was so fast that Mikey barely had ti to react.
His heart leaped into his throat as the hand clawed at him, fingers scraping the air, reaching for him.
He stumbled backward, his body hitting the cold floor with a thud. His chest tightened as fear surged through him, his breath coming in quick gasps.
"What the Fuck?!"
His wide eyes focused, and that’s when he saw it. The figure standing before him. His own face.
His future self, but twisted, unrecognizable. The figure’s eyes were cold, wild—just like in the vision. He was dressed in a brown prison uniform, the fabric rough against his skin.
His hands were stretched out, clawing at the air as if trying to reach through the bars.
Mikey’s heart pounded in his chest. His mouth went dry as he stared at the figure before him, the realization creeping in.
’This can’t be...’
It was him.
"I—" Mikey stamred, struggling to find his words. His mouth hung open in shock.
The future version of him let out a laugh. It started soft, but quickly grew louder, more manic. His knees buckled slightly as he doubled over, laughter echoing off the walls of the cell. It was a laugh filled with cruel amusent, as if he had been waiting for this mont for a long ti.
"Oh my God, I got you." he laughed, his voice rough, laced with glee.
"I fucking got you."
Mikey’s eyes narrowed, his confusion deepening. His future self wiped away the tears that had begun to fall from his eyes, shaking his head as he laughed harder.
"They didn’t give you the heads up, did they?" The older Mikey’s voice was low, almost mocking.
"Pfftt....It works every ti. Every. Fucking. Ti."
Mikey sat there, still trying to make sense of what was happening, his mind reeling. His future self on the other hand, took a step back, raising his hands in the air as if celebrating so private victory.
"Welco to prison, newbie." his future self said with a smirk.
"You’re going to love spending the rest of your life making sure I don’t try to escape."
Still, Mikey stared at him, his mind struggling to grasp the situation. His mouth was dry, and he could barely find his voice.
’Am I hearing this right?’
"Ummm...." Mikey finally managed to mutter, his voice shaky.
"Are you... are you talking to ?"
"Of course, I’m fucking talking to you." the older Mikey snapped, his expression darkening for a mont.
Then, after a few more monts of Mikey’s older self chuckling had passed, then ca the undodgeable mont - He blinked, as if the realization had just hit him.
His older self straightened up, his eyes widening.
"Wait... wait a second. Wait one fucking second.... You..." His hand trembled slightly as he took a step closer, squinting at Mikey, his face suddenly filled with confusion.
"You are... ?" he asked, voice tinged with disbelief.
Mikey’s mind was a whirlwind of thoughts.
"Yeah... I am." His words ca out slow, almost as if he couldn’t quite believe it himself.
"Holy shit," the older Mikey muttered, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"You really are ."
Mikey couldn’t help but let out a nervous laugh.
"Yeah, I guess so," he said, his mind still spinning.
The future Mikey looked him up and down, his gaze sharp as if trying to figure sothing out.
Mikey’s future self stared at him, eyes widening in disbelief, then after a short pause, broke the silence with a loud exclamation.
"Holy shit." He ran a hand through his long hair, shaking his head with a mix of amusent and frustration.
"God, I was ugly back then. Thank God for puberty... at least it did sothing for ."
Mikey blinked, processing the mont. His future self was, well, him, just a much older, much more polished version. Still, the similarities were striking—aside from the hair, of course. The longer hair, as his future self would probably say.
’Huh? Did he just call ugy?’ Mikey thought, his mind racing.
’There’s literally no difference between our faces, aside from the hair.’
"Well, isn’t this fucking great?" Mikey’s older self cut in as he muttered this with a grin.
"I bet you’re surprised to see . I thought you’d be scared, though. But you’re not. Good for you, kid."
The older Mikey paused, almost as if rembering sothing.
"You know, I wasn’t afraid back in your ti, but..." He threw himself onto the bed in the corner of the cell, his tone shifting to sothing more casual.
"It’s nice to talk to soone who isn’t a murderer or a rapist or both...you know?"
Mikey opened his mouth to speak, but his future self’s words echoed in his mind. He froze, the weight of them sinking in. His brow furrowed, and before he could stop himself, he blurted out, his voice a little shaky,
"What do you an you weren’t afraid back in your turn? What... what does that even an?"
He stumbled over the words, the confusion and curiosity fighting for dominance. His future self just looked at him, his expression unreadable.
His older self on the other hand, only paused for a short mont before he muttered all so casually.
"Huhh...ohh...You don’t get it, do you?" his future self asked again, this ti more seriously.
"Everything we’re doing now... it’s already happened. Every action we take, every decision we make... it’s already been written...." He paused his speech for a short mont before he added his finally comnt.
"This future right now...is your inevitable fate. You’re gonna be a monster, Mikey..."
