’What did you just fucking say to ?’ Son muttered, his voice laced with disbelief.

Mikey took a step forward, his body tensing as he spoke. His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, but regardless of that, his body and tongue moved on their own.

He muttered under his breath, his eyes scanning his surroundings.

"Well, calling it an insult would be an understatent." he continued, his voice laced with a mix of amusent and challenge.

"I was mainly just telling you the truth."

’Fuck. Fuck . What the fuck is going on? What the hell is going on? ’

Mikey’s mind scread as he realized the situation was spiraling out of his control. He still had to maintain his composure.

He chuckled dryly and muttered.

"I an, you call yourself a gangster, right? But all I see is any pussy student..." He paused deliberately, allowing the words to hang in the air.

"...who’s too afraid to take on a peep-squeak on your own that you have to throw in a surprise attack and corner him with your own n? Yeah. So boxing champion you were."

Upon muttering this, a chillinh silence hung thick in the air, completely unreadable.

Son’s expression flickered for a mont. His eyes flickered toward his gang mbers before returning to Mikey, his jaw clenching.

"You..."

Mikey grinned, displaying utter confidence, despite his battered nature.

"Hey, all I’m doing is speaking the truth. But if you really want—"

Right then, before he could finish his sentence, everything shifted in an instant. He didn’t know how it happened. One mont, Son was about twelve steps away from him. And the next, he was right in front of him.

It all happened so quick that he could have sworn that Son had teleported.

Mikey barely registered what was happening when Son’s fist ca crashing down toward his face. His reaction was sluggish, his mind unable to comprehend the sheer speed of the attack.

’Huh?’

That was the only thought that flashed through his mind before impact. Sun’s fist charged at him with full thrust, undodgeable, unavoidable—

Pow!

Mikey barely managed to raise his hand to block, but the force behind Son’s punch was overwhelming. Even with the block, the impact sent Mikey sprawling backward. He hit the ground hard, rolling several ters before coming to a painful stop.

A pained grunt escaped his lips as he gritted his teeth, clutching his arm as a sharp pain shot through him.

’Fuck. Did he fracture my arm with a single hit?’

His breath ca out in ragged gasps as he slowly lifted his gaze. And then his eyes were t with Son’s.

Son stood over him, glaring down with fury and hate burning in his eyes. His foot was poised, ready to strike again and end Mikey in a single go.

"Say those words one more ti." Sun growled, his voice filled with venom.

"and I will murder you right here and now"

Mikey froze.

In truth, fear gripped him deep inside, but he had yet to master the art of deceptive reasoning. Kneeling defenseless on the ground, all he had left were his own reassuring thoughts

’ I’m gonna die! I’m gonna fucking die!!’

Mikey’s eyes darted downward, as he found himself searching desperately for a reply to give, but still, there was nothing.

’What the fuck?’

The attack had been too fast for anyone to react. In fact, it alll happened so fast that even Son’s underlings stared in shock, their faces frozen in disbelief.

In a gentle casual motion, Mikey slowly lifted his head, a smirk forming despite the pain.

"This might sound a bit too prideful to say, but incase you didn’t notice, the only reason you hit the first ti... is because I let you."

Son’s expression darkened, his eyes narrowing as his glare deepened. Mikey pushed himself up, his muscles screaming in protest. He let out a painful grunt as he rose to his feet.

’Why am I still talking? My god, I’m going to die. There’s no doubt about it. I’m going to fucking die.’

But then, he did sothing completely insane. He opened his mouth again.

"Son Parker, you are not stronger than ."

The words left his lips before his brain could even process them, almost leaving him in full cardiac arrest.

’ Oh, that settles it. I am so fucking dead.’

The entire room fell into stunned silence. The gang mbers were aghast, and Son’s face remained unreadable for a mont before he took a step forward.

And then, in a flash, he hurled a fist at Mikey, aiming for a knockout—but just before impact...

"I want to make a wager with you." Mikey uttered.

Upon hearing this, Son halted his attack, atleast for that mont.

"A wager?"

"Yes, a wager. If I win, you forget all about the Seven grand...and if you win...well, let’s just say..."

Mikey’s mind scread at him, yelling at him to make a final run for it. But instead of backtracking, he doubled down.

"...Double or nothing."

Right in that mont, Son’s fury imdiately faded away.

Mikey saw his eyes widen slightly, the disbelief clear on his face.

"Double or nothing?" Son repeated, his tone dripping with skepticism.

"You an... 14 grand?"

"How the hell are you supposed to pay 14 grand when you can’t even co up with 7 grand?" Sun added as a scoff escaped his lips.

Mikey swallowed hard, but he still forced out the words.

"I won’t have to pay... because I’m going to win."

Then, there was a brief between the two of them pause before Sun let out a weary chuckle. A slow, amused shake of his head followed.

"You really do have balls, don’t you? Talking like that in front of ?" Son smirked.

"Alright, then. Spit it out. What’s the damn deal?"

’Stop. Soone stop . Please. I’ll do anything. I’ll never use the ranking system again. I’ll go straight. I’ll beco a monk. Just STOP from talking.’ Mikey begged inwardly.

But it was too late.

The words left his lips before he could stop them.

"I challenge you to a fight."

Son’s gaze locked onto him. A long pause followed as if he were searching for any sign of a bluff. But there was none. Mikey wasn’t bluffing as much as he inwardly hoped he was.

"A fight?" Sun echoed, stepping closer. His size, his height, his sheer presence lood over Mikey like an immovable force.

"You want to fight ?"

Mikey forced himself to nod.

"Yeah, well, no. Well, yes and no. If it was a regular fight, I’d obviously lose, so why’d I bet on that."

He grinned, despite the insanity of his own actions.

"But let’s make it more interesting. The rules are simple. If you knock out, you win. But if I land even one clean hit on you, no matter where... I win."

Son blinked, his gaze still locked on him.

"That’s bullshit. Why the fuck would I agree to that?"

A valid statent question, however, Mikey already had that covered.

"Because you’ve fought plenty of people before, really good fighters. And based on your record, well you’ve really taken a clean hit, isn’t that so? So what’s so bad about taking a wager like this?"

There was a short pending silence between then as Son carefully considered his words, his jaw working as he processed the challenge.

And then, finally, he smirked.

"That might be true... but I’ve got nothing to prove against you. So why should I waste my ti?"

Mikey’s grin widened.

"Because it’s an easy win."

"You really think you can land a hit on ?" Son muttered as he took a step closer, his presence towering over Mikey like a shadow cast by a mountain. His voice was calm, yet laced with amusent.

Mikey could see the sheer difference in size, height, and strength between them with just a single glance. It was enough to make anyone with common sense step back. And yet, he stood his ground, his jaw tightening as he stood his ground.

A brief silence followed. As Son studied him, then suddenly, he threw his head back and let out a loud, full-bodied laugh.

His laughter was so hard his knees nearly buckled, one hand gripping his knee while the other ran over his face.

After a mont, he straightened, shaking his head in disbelief.

" He really believes he can land a hit."

Mikey didn’t answer. Rather, he just gave a confident, almost cocky grin. On the outside, he looked composed. But on the inside? He was already regretting every word.

Sun’s gaze flickered to the Iron Vipers, who were already cackling and jeering, then back to Mikey.

"Tell you what, I’ll give you a month." he said.

"Get as fit as you can. Train, lift weights, do whatever you want. And then we’ll have our match-"

But before he could finish, Mikey cut him off.

" Four days..." Mikey’s voice was firm.

"All I need is four days."

Son’s expression shifted slightly, sothing like mild intrigue flickering behind his eyes. And then, he smirked.

"Fine, then." He exhaled through his nose, amusent lacing his tone.

"Sunday morning, at the pond. You and Lil Dicky. Let’s see if you’ve got what it takes it to land a hit."

The Vipers howled with laughter, their voices echoing throughout the alley. But Mikey? He just clenched his fists, his smile unwavering as the turmoil in his mind rose more and more by the minute, because sohow, deceptive reasoning had fixed him a match with the dreaded Son Parker!
