Today, everyone in the Orange Zone died.
In an instant. With a snap of a finger.
They turned into demons, rampaging through the streets in search of the aning behind their lives.
And among them walked Zhuan Ren — a wide grin stretching across his face and madness dancing in his eyes.
"My children. The ti has co to build our world."
The situation was dire. I could feel Mujin’s piercing gaze analyzing .
What would I do? Was this part of my plan? What about Seojun?
I climbed onto my owl. It spread its wings wide, and we soared toward the Association headquarters.
But I knew.
Mujin wouldn’t let go so easily.
anwhile.
Jisun was racing down the staircase.
"All S-Ranks, defend the main entrance! Mordred slipped out of view. I couldn’t catch him—he fell off the roof!"
The first Mordred had already broken into the Association’s first floor, tearing through everyone in his path as he sprinted toward the elevator.
Just as Reina, Shingen, and the others arrived—
"He’s here!"
Mordred flipped them the finger, and the elevator doors shut in their faces.
Leaning against the wall, he listened to calming elevator music.
His destination: the lowest floor, where Haebin was being held.
Then, Mordred removed his mask.
Underneath it was Seojun.
"Just a little more, Haebin..."
Suddenly, the harsh grinding of tal filled his ears. The sound grew louder, more violent. The elevator began to shake.
"W-what the hell?!"
It was Jisun—who had decided to take the stairs the fast way by crashing down floor after floor, controlling his descent with his twin spears.
Eventually, Seojun reached the prison level. A squad of ard guards awaited him, but he transford into his demonic form and barreled through them.
"I don’t have ti for you!"
He stord into the corridor—and froze.
The prison was built like a spiral, its halls looping back on themselves. Ten levels deep... and every cell was empty.
"Where are you..."
Then he rembered what I had told him earlier:
"I saw Haebin. He’s safe. But they’re keeping him sowhere hidden, where no one would think to look. The path... leads through secret chambers."
As he moved deeper, Seojun noticed a single tal door far removed from the rest. It looked completely out of place.
[ERROR. Access requires a level-5 keycard.]
The Death Icon shattered it with ease. Just as he was about to step through—
A loud crash echoed behind him. Dust choked the air.
And then... he appeared.
The last person a demon would want to confront.
The King of Humans.
"Where do you think you’re going, freak?"
"..."
Seojun was in trouble.
Why hadn’t the other Hunters joined him?
Because an ergency order had been issued:
"The second Mordred is flying straight toward our HQ!"
The Association’s security locked every cara on the target.
Soaring on the owl, the second Mordred pulled off his mask.
It was—
"...Lee Kihyun?!"
All S-Rank Hunters imdiately mobilized to guard the entrance.
"Looks like we got ourselves a big one!" Chanwook grinned, summoning his armor and wings. "They put all of us against one guy? Damn, no wonder he’s humanity’s highest-level threat."
They were all waiting for . Sweat stread down so of their faces. For the newbies, this would be their first encounter with a Duke-class demon.
And I flew straight toward them.
Turning back, I noticed Mujin and Altair had disappeared from the rooftop.
Suddenly, I felt sothing fast sweep past .
Mujin lunged from the side, his blade slashing.
My owl reacted instantly—we dodged and flew even faster.
Behind , Mujin laughed.
"Didn’t notice? God is watching."
He pointed to the sky.
And I felt a shiver crawl down my spine.
I looked up.
And there were no clouds.
There was no sky.
There was only an eye. Gaping. Pulsing. Suspended like a cosmic ulcer carved into the fabric of existence. It was both organic and alien, beating like the heart of a forgotten god.
And in front of it, I felt completely exposed—not just physically, but ntally. Stripped bare.
And it was watching .
But it was more than that. The Eye wasn’t really there. I only saw its presence in my mind.
So this... this was what it ant to feel the hierarchy of demons.
"Astaroth... is that you?"
When I looked down again, the eye was gone.
Altair sprinted with everything he had.
He shattered rooftiles, leapt across buildings—anything to close the gap.
But in the Green Zone, there weren’t many low buildings. Eventually, he had to run down the streets.
The garrison fired at him. Police tried to intercept. Soldiers attempted to box him in.
But Altair had one target.
.
...What a hard-bitten bastard.
Then, just as he ca close enough—
He hurled his katana.
The weapon tore through my owl. I crashed to the ground. My blood reford into my palm.
Looks like I won’t avoid a fight...
But Mujin wasn’t here. If I acted fast, I could deal with Altair.
If he lets .
Altair took his stance, body fortified head to toe. As Veidris’s heir, his defense was second to none.
From the panicked crowd, a girl stepped forward.
Wearing a blue bomber jacket and a short skirt... with a white tiger cub by her side?
She lowered her hood and approached .
I summoned my Kenketsu, reinforcing my body.
"You’re Kihyun, right?" she bit into a chocolate bar. "That scent... it’s you. I think we t at the shore."
...She was right. Black hair. Blue eyes. I rembered now.
She’d said sothing about Yeonghee.
"I’m Aruya," she introduced herself. "You’re in a hurry? Don’t worry. You can go. I’ll deal with this masked weirdo."
Altair narrowed his eyes.
I was stunned by her confidence. She looked like an ordinary schoolgirl.
Aruya summoned a katana from her palm.
"Yuma. Let’s go."
Yuma’s body began to pulse. His white fur glowed. Muscles swelled.
And in the blink of an eye—what stood before wasn’t a cub, but a five-ter predator.
...Such a refined blood manipulation. She had mastered her craft to perfection!
"But you owe . I’m looking for soone. A bastard. You’ll help find him."
She ans... Dmitriy Volkov? Interesting turn of events.
I nodded and ran.
"Your move, Darkmaine!"
From my blood, a dark stallion took shape. I mounted it and galloped away.
Altair looked stunned.
"Where the hell did he learn that technique?"
Aruya smirked.
"So I’m not the only one, huh. Well then... Yuma, we’ve got ourselves a fun new toy. Let’s beat the arrogance out of him and find that damn Volkov."
The tiger roared.
And without hesitation, the battle began.
