So being a servant to us, is a privilege, and the only privilege you can get other than death."
Dave’s response was imdiate and scathing. "That’s ao stupid," he said, letting out a deep, frustrated sigh. He shook his head, his eyes rolling in exasperation. "From what I know, the world will soon perish, yet, you guys think it’s a blessing from the gods." He turned around, his right arm resting on his hip, as he let out another sharp sigh.
"The gods are up there watching, but they can’t do anything to stop this calamity that is slowly destroying our world," Dave said, his voice heavy with annoyance. "Yet, you guys keep on thinking you’re doing the right thing? That you’re balancing the world? A perished world?" His words dripped with sarcasm, and the n’s expressions faltered, their minds struggling to understand what Dave was talking about.
What god? Which world was perishing? They stood there frozen, their faces a picture of confusion as they watched Dave speak. They exchanged bewildered glances, clearly at loss for what he was talking about.
It was only then that one of them had finally broken the silence. His voice was filled with irritation. "What the heck is this fella rambling about?"
Another man sneered, his expression twisted in disgust. "I think it’s high ti we feed him to the beasts, I don’t think he’ll worth being a servant to us. I hate those that talk a lot, they bring bad luck." The other two n nodded in agreent, their faces set in cruel smiles.
Without warning, the three n began to control the beasts in front of them, their eyes flashing with malevolent intent. "Attack!" they commanded, their voices rising in unison. The five beasts responded instantly, charging towards Dave with deadly precision. Their massive bodies pounded the ground, their fangs bared in snarling snouts.
But just as they were about to reach Dave, sothing strange happened. The beasts halted in their tracks, their purrs growing softer as they closed their mouths and stopped their attack. Then, in a bizarre reversal, they turned around and bared their fangs at the three n.
The n’s faces turned white with panic. "Wh...what is happening?!" one of them stamred, his voice trembling with fear. "The beasts, they aren’t attacking him, they’re about to attack us!"
The realization dawned on them, and their eyes widened in horror as they realized they were no longer in control of the beasts.
"Ahh, please don’t co near us! Please stop them!" They all shouted. They started taking different steps backwards, their eyes wide with fear as they clung onto each other.
Dave’s voice dripped with sarcasm as he spoke, "What happened? Why are you guys so scared?" He raised an eyebrow, with a mocking tone. "Are you not the ones that said you would dominate the world? Why are you shouting now?"
At that mont, Dave had stopped the beasts from moving forward, and instead he had walked forward. It was then that the n could eventually speak up.
"H-how are you able to ta our beasts?" One of them said, stamring.
Another man’s voice trembled as he added, "I think he can ta beasts like us too."
A third man’s face turned pale, his eyes darting between Dave and the beasts. "But that’s not supposed to happen even if he can ta beasts. You can’t ta a beast that another beast tar already tad."
The others realized just how true his words were, and then a question had raised in their minds. "Just who was this person?!"
As they stared at Dave, their minds racing, they suddenly flashed back to all his previous words. His words about the world’s destruction, and his constant ntion of gods. A realization dawned on them, and they asked in unison, "Are you perhaps a god? The one who gave us our powers?!"
Dave’s response was a soft, low chuckle. "Yes, I am a god, and I’m going to show you just what a god like is capable of doing." As he spoke, the air seed to shimr and ripple.
Interdiate beasts, previously slain by Dave, began to materialize out of thin air. They ca out of his void space and started dropping to the ground. Instantly, their eyes had fluttered open, as they rose to their feet, a low growl escaping their lips as they gazed at the prey before them.
As Dave rode on the massive Berad Beast, with the wind whipping through his hair, and the streetlights shining all around him through the dark, empty streets. He gazed ahead, his eyes fixed on the horizon.
The system’s map imposed over his vision, indicating that he was drawing closer to the location of the two won. He noticed, with a hint of surprise in his face, that the pace of those who had taken his two wives had been remarkably swift, covering a significant amount of ground during his short conversation with the three n.
The landscape shifted, and the buildings grew taller and closer together. The Berad Beast’s paws pounded the paved street as they entered the city, and Dave’s gaze was drawn to a large billboard standing sentinel at the entrance. "Welco to the City of Whales," it read, the letters bold and faded. Dave’s eyes lingered on the sign before moving on to take in the sights of the city.
His expression remained calm, as his eyes continually scanned the cityscape with interest. "Let’s see why a lot of people are trying so hard to get into the city," he murmured to himself, his voice lost to the srizing sight of the city.
The City of Whales was a marvel unlike anything Dave had seen before. Towering skyscrapers stretched toward the sky, their peaks shrouded in mist. The buildings seed to be a mix of residential and comrcial areas, though the teor’s impact was evident in the damage and debris that scattered everywhere.
Many of the tall buildings showed signs of structural compromise, with most of their windows shattered, and their walls cracked as well.
As Dave guided the Berad Beast through the city streets, the three n tied behind him stumbled and staggered, their faces set in grim determination. The undead beasts followed closely, their eyes still fixed on their quarry.
The contrast between Dave’s town and the city was stark. In his town, houses stood nestled among lush gardens, their white picket fences swaying gently in the breeze. Each ho had its own personal garage, a cozy space for the family’s vehicle. But here, in the city, the landscape was dominated by towering buildings and sleek hotels, their steel and glass exteriors glinting in the dark.
As Dave rode the Berad Beast through the city streets, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia for the peaceful atmosphere of his town. Despite the challenges they faced, his town still had a certain charm to it. And thanks to the small establishnts that dotted its landscape. The occasional casino or motel added a touch of vibrancy, making his town a place where people could find so respite.
But the city was a different story altogether. The streets were a whirlwind of activity, with beasts erging from alleys and side streets like specters. The trio’s desperate screams and shouts had drawn them in, and now they were closing in on their location.
Dave’s eyes scanned the horizon, his grip on the Berad Beast tightening as he guided it through the streets. Just like in the other parts of the world, the street was flooded with the rotting fleshes of beasts and humans. Also, laying around the floor were parts of different buildings which had been damaged by beasts and the teor.
The beasts moved with a fluidity that was both srizing and terrifying. They seed to own the city, as they roam around, their movents unhindered by the presence of humans. And in this city, it seed that only the strongest survived.
The weak were preyed upon, their fate sealed in re seconds. And unless you are well prepared, you will end up becoming a food to these beasts. It was just as Jackie said, the cities were the most dangerous of all places you can choose to want to hide.
Due to the population of the humans present there, more teor fell into the cities than in other areas. And also, because of this, many humans had ended up losing their lives on the first day of the apocalypse.
A large wave of beasts overwheld everyone, killing them with brutality before they could even think of defending themselves. Because of this, human had to use their initiative just so they could survive.
It wasn’t up to a week when they discovered many things. Those with abilities realized that they have powers. Those with super strength and superspeed also ca to the discovery. And now, everyone was doing their best to survive the apocalypse.
As Dave rode the Berad Beast through the street, beasts of various shapes and sizes erged from the city’s alleys and side streets. But upon catching sight of the undead army marching behind Dave, they swiftly retreated, their movents fluid and fearful. It was clear they had no desire to beco prey for the larger, more formidable beasts.
