’Aw–awaken one of the four dormant treasures?’ Modret’s voice was filled with shock.

The fairy floated directly in front of Modret, and he could see the solemnness in her eyes.

{Yes. That is the only way.}

He wasn’t concerned with how the fairy knew he possessed four terrifying treasures. What shocked him first was realizing that he actually possessed them.

Over ti, Modret had gradually forgotten about the treasures, thinking Noctis had scamd him. But now, he was overjoyed at the thought.

Calming himself, he asked, ’There should be a reason you didn’t want to tell about this, right?’

The fairy nodded.

{This treasure, if my guess isn’t wrong, can traverse through ti and space. As long as there is sufficient energy, it can even take you back in ti, to the future, and to any place you want to go. It’s just that it has a fatal flaw.}

Hearing the information about the treasure, Modret’s heart trembled in shock.

’Taking back to the past and to the future? Then, can I also discover what happened to the humans of the previous era? And... can I also go to the future, see the fate of this world, and work towards changing it?’

Modret didn’t expect that he would possess such a horrifying treasure.

’No wonder Noctis said my luck exploded and he had to seal my mory of the treasure. I can imagine that if "they" knew I possessed this treasure, they could use it to head into the future, see the outco, return to the past, and wipe out any chance of the gods surviving.’

Then again, Modret was curious about sothing...

Why wasn’t Noctis using all these terrifying treasures himself?

’Could it be just as he said — that he’s a god and can’t use the powers of other gods? If that’s the case, could it be because I’m not a god yet that I can use any god’s treasures?’

Modret was already feeling a headache when the fairy called out.

{Get a grip. A celestial that’s three major ranks above you will be here within a few minutes — you have to get the treasure now!}

’Oh...’ Modret’s heart skipped a beat. ’How do I do that?’

{Reach into your mind. In the endless fog of your soul, you should see four starlights. Pick the fifth one. The treasure was the fifth you chose from Noctis.}

’I see...’

Modret nodded, then tried to sense the state of his soul.

The soul was an extrely abstract concept — sothing he couldn’t completely understand. However, upon reaching his thoughts inwardly, Modret realized he had appeared in a peculiar space.

Everywhere around him was golden, and in the skies shone four bright white lights filled with a strange, mysterious aura.

Modret’s eyes sharpened, and his joy was hard to suppress. ’My babies...’

He felt the urge to reach out to every one of them.

{FOCUS, MODRET!}

The fairy’s slightly annoyed voice echoed in his thoughts.

Modret shook off his distractions, then focused on the treasures ahead of him intently.

’How do I do this? Is it the second one from the left or right I select? And they’re in the skies — how do I grab them?’

{The second one from the left. And just reach out toward it. It will naturally be drawn to your thoughts.}

Modret heard an exasperated sigh after the fairy’s first words.

Shrugging lightly, he reached out toward the second treasure and waited.

Nothing happened for a few breaths. Then, as though a cot were streaking through the skies, the treasure ca crashing down into his palm.

Modret could feel all sorts of sensations — warmth, coldness, decay, and the faint distortion of space.

{We don’t have much ti left. Shift your thoughts into the relic. It should have gathered enough space essence to send you anywhere on this barren planet.}

Modret felt the hastiness in the fairy’s voice, and he quickly communicated his thoughts to the treasure.

Everywhere was silent for a few monts before the treasure finally released a silvery glow that enveloped his soul, then spread outward to his body — and also to Axel’s.

Instantly, both of them vanished from the endless abyss.

Left in the floating void, the fairy’s face turned pale as countless strands of her hair fell into the darkness.

The faint shimr of blue light engulfing her had dimd considerably.

She panted and took a long while to finally calm herself, muttering quietly to herself,

{Unlike the other tis where I’ve used my divine luck essence to suppress the difficulty of an Abyssal Sage Mode world, this ti I am truly exhausted. Thankfully, he is safe...}

The fairy’s figure grew paler and paler until it disappeared into countless starlights.

The endless abyss remained silent for a very long ti before a sigh echoed from its depths...

...

After the blinding silver light engulfed him, Modret opened his eyes when he felt it recede.

"What?" he couldn’t help but exclaim, realizing he was standing in front of the inn. Beside him was Axel, who looked similarly dazed.

However, Axel could tell that Modret had sothing to do with their escape.

Modret glanced around, a few workers were still trying to build a car, while occasional discussions rang out from the crowd.

Subconsciously, he stepped inside the inn, the ringing sound of the doorbell alerting everyone of their presence.

At the counter, the little girl with a stern expression watched as her sister prepared dishes before collecting them and rushing toward a table of old n who were muttering among themselves.

Celine scrutinized the n as her sister went to serve them, ensuring they did nothing to the little girl.

’Thankfully, we didn’t go back in ti...’ Modret sighed in relief and called internally, ’Fairy... fairy...’

Everywhere remained silent. He frowned briefly, then placed it at the back of his mind.

’Perhaps she thinks I want to ask her about the ancient era...’

He and Axel walked toward an empty seat and sat down before making their order when the little girl approached.

After seven days of starving, despite having an awakened body, they were already extrely hungry.

’Peace at last... hopefully...’ Modret thought as he placed a piece of at in his mouth.
