Flick!
The shimring runes flickered into existence, before .
Arcane Relic: [Forgotten Blade].
Relic Rank: Ascendant
Relic Tier: IIII
Relic Description: [ She once gave HIM all, until she lost it all.
Forged from the agony of a broken bond, and the coldness of betrayal, the forgotten blade's edge, hungers for the betrayal of kin.]
"Interesting."
I squinted my brows at the description.
Chuckling darkly in obvious amusent, I couldn't help but wonder who the callous man that the spell referred to as "HIM" was?
As for why I was every, little bit, curious?
It definitely wasn't because of the tragic love story. Well, a little bit of that. But more of the fact that the "HIM" used by the spell in the connotation of the man, was a sort of honorific.
As in, not a god level honorific, but for a being of higher status. Hence, I was pretty much curious about said being.
However, on second thought, I exhaled lightly.
"Whoever it is, has nothing to do with ."
As for why I suddenly had a change of thought? The answer was rather obvious.
Poking my nose into the affairs of such a being was a recipe for disaster. And I, on the other hand, was rather less inclined to face such fate.
...The mory's rank, however, did disturb a little. After all, from the spell's point of view, I was considered a dormant human. And considering the fact that there were several ranks to everything in the Arcane Spell.
From dormant, to awakened, to ascendant, transcendent, supre, holy, monarch, and so much more. Of course, that's with the exclusion of dark creatures and other special or rare creatures who follow the profane ranking system, and hence were ranked as:
Dormant, Awakened, Fallen, Corrupted, Great, Profane Monarch, and so much more, that I really hoped I never had to worry about any ti soon.
...Hence, receiving an Arcane relic of the ascendant rank, as good as it sounds, trust , wasn't really such a good thing.
Especially when considering the fact that, the expenditure of soul or arcane essence, wasn't sothing I was capable of handling. At most, I would be able to use it once or twice. And, that was after pushing myself beyond my limits.
I grimaced in dark annoyance.
Or, was it the fact that from the spell's point of view, this was the sa as possessing a weapon two ranks above . In such a case, the weapon was no longer helpful, and instead, was rather... useless.
Don't even get started on the fact that the Arcane weapon was of tier four! Fucking tier four! Wasn't that the sa thing as handling a sword to a toddler? What use could I make of it?
Sighing in exasperation, I suppressed the anger and rage boiling within .
After all, as bad as things seed to be, was actually, I still had the weapon given to by the blind girl.
I could use that for the anti.
"At least, until I am strong enough to make use of the damn blade."
'Yes. That will do.'
I nodded.
With a deep exhalation, I shrugged it off, focusing once again, on the set of runic descriptions.
Arcane Enchantnts: [Betrayal's reach], [Cold Reaper], [Last Vow].
Slightly tilting my head, I willed the spell to bring out the enchantnts descriptions.
[Betrayal's Reach].
Enchantnt Description: [The forgotten blade can elongate up to three to four ters in length, transforming into a spear-like form, for a limited ti.
The transformation is swift, but costs a certain amount of essence and stamina, depending on its wielder.]
"Not bad."
I smiled in satisfaction.
This was made just for . The treachery and the cunningness within it.
...They were all just to my taste.
I could already imagine the various scenarios where this enchantnt could be of handy help. From surprise attacks to mid-range thrusts. The plethora of moves it gave, were pretty much endless.
I nodded, clearly pleased with the enchantnt description.
[Cold Reaper].
To be honest, this was a rather cool na. But hopefully, the qualities it possesses were just as useful.
Enchantnt Description: [With each blood drawn, the target's body temperature and stamina drops, stacking slowly. After several consecutive hits, the target may beco sluggish or slightly numb.]
"Not bad," I grinned. "Not bad at all..."
With such an enchantnt, fighting in prolonged battles against a powerful enemy, increased my chances of coming out victorious. Not that I wanted to face such a powerful opponent. I was pretty much okay with preying on the weak.
At least, that way, I can keep my life. But, either way, the enchantnt was still pretty much useful.
With a light sigh, I went through the last description.
Last Vow. Enchantnt Description: [Only when she gave it all, did he beco whole.
When the wielder is in critical danger, or on the verge of death, the blade unleashes a desperate counter. However,
Upon the Last Vow, the forgotten blade shall be broken. Just like he did... her.]
Is it just or does the spell seem to be sympathizing with this woman. The thought alone gave the chills.
However, the fate of poke nosing into the spell's affairs, that was even if my hypothesis was right, was more dreadful to think about. Hence, I did what a wise man would do in such a situation.
I did like I knew nothing about it. And simply moved on with my thought process.
...I was pretty much satisfied with the arcane weapon. Especially with the last enchantnt. With it, I could at the very least, ensure that I live to see the next day.
Though, I doubted I ever wanted to encounter a scenario that would force into such a situation. And, who was to even know, if upon the Last Vow, the weapon could really save from said dire situation?
With a dark grimace, I decided not to think too much about it.
What other choice did I have?
If there was anything this cursed and wretched land had taught , it was that one had no control of the horrors and the nurous harrowing scenarios that could be thrown at them. The only thing one could do, was plan and take things into one's hand or... well, hope for the best.
Even if the latter was wishful thinking.
With an exasperated sigh, I turned to face the shimring void. And with a final exhalation, I closed my eyes, allowing the weariness of the day to take over.
...Tomorrow, another cruel fate awaits.
