Daniel trudged back to his dorm on Platform Alpha, the satisfying weight of his new A-Grade Soft Blade Boxing Gloves still making his hands tingle with anticipation.

The Freshn Impact Challenge was slated for the next morning, and despite his already earth-shattering power demonstration in the simulator, he felt an itch to truly calibrate his newfound S-Grade abilities.

His S-Grade Solar Flare Fist Art was a pocket nova, and the S-Grade Earthquake Colossus Form promised nigh-unkillable resilience.

His B-Grade Weapon Exchange Coupon weighed heavily on his mind, a constant reminder of its intended purpose.

At the Exchange Post, Daniel's Priority Access Card once again parted the envious throngs of recruits like a hot knife through butter.

The terminal humd, recognizing its most statistically terrifying custor.

He swiped the coupon, then the terminal displayed a dazzling array of B-Grade equipnt, armor, weapons, even jewelry.

He scrolled past bulky chest plates, too restrictive for his acrobatic style and glowing rings that seed more suited for dramatic pronouncents than actual combat.

Then, his eyes locked onto a pair of thin, almost delicate-looking gloves under "Specialized Combat Gear."

[Soft Blade Gloves]

Grade: B

Effect: Attack 100. Thin, soft, don't affect movent. Tough, can block sharp weapons barehanded.

Daniel leaned in. Gloves again? He already had his A-Grade Kinetic Void Gauntlets which were phenonal force-multipliers.

But these... these were different.

They promised precision, an edge, quite literally, without the bulk.

They wouldn't hinder his C-grade bow or the subtle gestures required for his more eccentric skills.

That just sounded cool. Plus, they looked deceptively lethal.

He confird the choice. The coupon dematerialized, and a sleek case appeared.

Daniel opened the case. The Soft Blade Gloves were indeed soft, matte black, and fit like a whisper against his skin.

He slipped them on. No restriction. He could probably knit a sweater in these, if he knew how.

Now for the SSS-Talent magic. Focusing on the B-Grade gloves, Daniel let the familiar, powerful hum of [Soul Assimilation] build within him, a controlled storm eager to reshape reality.

Assimilate. Enhance. Evolve.

The gloves pulsed, not with light, but with a deepening shadow, as if absorbing the very concept of sharpness.

His Nexus Interface chid softly, a herald of upgrades.

[Soul Assimilation successful on B-Grade Equipnt: Soft Blade Gloves.]

[Item Reforged and Amplified by SSS-Grade Talent Synergy!]

[Item Evolved: Soft Blade Gloves (B-Grade) have beco Phantom Edge Striking Wraps (A-Grade)!]

Daniel flexed his hands. A-Grade!

The gloves felt like they were barely there, yet a new, almost imperceptible layer of danger clung to them.

[Equipnt: Phantom Edge Striking Wraps (Pair)]

Grade: A

Effect: Attack 300 (per wrap, when striking with edge of hand/fingers).

Infused with micro-serrated energy filants, the ultra-thin, ultra-durable material offers unmatched dexterity and precise tactile feedback.

Can deflect bladed weapons and deflect minor energy attacks. Blade-edges can be subtly extended/retracted with ntal command for enhanced cutting/piercing.

Attack 300! Daniel grinned. While his Kinetic Void Gauntlets were for raw kinetic amplification, these Phantom Edge Wraps were for precision lethality.

They wouldn't replace the gauntlets but complent them, perhaps worn underneath for an extra layer of surprise sharpness, or used when he needed a more delicate, yet still deadly, touch.

Satisfied with his hand-wearables reaching peak A-Grade deadliness, Daniel decided it was ti for the main event: body tempering.

He had been saving the precious, faintly glowing dicinal herbs, rewards from Phase Two's utter domination, for this.

So were for brewing an internal elixir, others for an external soak. He'd start from the inside out.

He selected a cluster of vibrant, sun-kissed leaves and a gnarled, energy-rich root.

Using [Soul Assimilation] with a precious charge (19/25 remaining), he refined their essence, stripping away impurities and amplifying their potency.

The herbs practically vibrated in his hand. He then followed the simple brewing instructions on his Nexus, creating a small, steaming cup of what looked like liquid gold and slled like a celestial forest.

"Bottoms up," he muttered, downing the elixir in one go.

A wave of intense heat spread from his core outwards, followed by a deep, bone-settling strength. His muscles felt like they were being forged anew, denser, more resilient.

[dicinal Elixir Consud (Enhanced by Soul Assimilation)!]

[Strength 31!]

[Vitality 42!]

Daniel let out a long breath, feeling the power settle. His Strength was now well over 180, his Vitality cresting 150.

Now for the external tempering. He grabbed the bundle of glistering, moon-petal-like stalks and broad.

The ones ant for a long, hot soak. This would work on his skin, sinew, and the very surface of his bones.

He headed to his dorm's tiny bathroom, anticipating a relaxing, power-infusing bath.

The dorm was a cramped two-person affair, a necessity given Platform Alpha's limited real estate for the hundreds of recruits.

He hadn't t his roommate yet; he had been too busy breaking records and generally being a statistical anomaly.

He pushed open the bathroom door. A wall of dense, hot steam billowed out, fogging his vision instantly.

The sound of running water reverberated.

"Seriously?" Daniel muttered. "Roomie left the shower on full blast and turned the place into a sauna without cracking a window? Amateur."

Then he froze. Through a montary parting in the steam, he saw a figure.

A decidedly curvy, feminine figure, silhouetted behind the frosted glass of the shower stall, moving gracefully under the spray.

A soft, lodious humming drifted through the steam.

Daniel's brain perford an ergency shutdown and reboot.

Girl. Roommate. Shower. Naked. Oh, Crap!

His face flushed a shade of red that would make a supernova blush.

He took an instinctive step back, ready to perform a tactical retreat worthy of his [Ghoststeps ] skill.

But the precious, SSS-enhanced herbs were still clutched in his hand, and he really needed that body-tempering bath.

His S-Grade Earthquake Colossus Form would appreciate the extra resilience.

He cleared his throat, the sound unnaturally loud in the steamy confines.

"Uh, HEY!" he called out, his voice cracking slightly.

He made a point of staring intently at a particularly uninteresting spot on the tiled floor.

"Didn't, uh, realize anyone was in here! My bad! Just... just needed the tub for so... so very important herb-soaking. dicinal!

For, uh, peak combat readiness! Not trying to barge in or anything creepy, promise!" He cringed internally.

The humming stopped. The water shut off with a sharp squeak. An agonizing mont of silence hung in the steam-choked air.

Then, the frosted glass door slid open with a soft hiss.

A young woman stepped out, wrapped sowhat hastily in a large, fluffy white towel.

Water droplets clung to her long, dark hair, which was plastered to her shoulders and back, revealing the elegant curve of her neck.

Her skin, where visible, was flushed from the steam, smooth and flawless. She had sharp, intelligent grey eyes, which were currently narrowed in a mixture of surprise and distinct annoyance.

Her expression was anything but amused; it was cold, appraising, and held a spark of sothing dangerous.

She was, even in her current state of disarray and irritation, breathtakingly beautiful, with a figure that the towel did a rather poor job of concealing.

This was Ayra Sand.

She tilted her head, her calm grey eyes scanning Daniel, assessing his ssy appearance, the bundle of glowing herbs in his hand, and his flushed complexion.

Her gaze lingered on the herbs for a mont, a flash of recognition in their depths before returning to his face, sharp and accusatory.

"And just who," she asked, her voice low and dangerously calm, "do you think you are, barging into a lady's private ablutions clutching... weeds?"

Daniel swallowed hard. This was not going how he'd envisioned his relaxing, power-boosting bath.

This was rapidly escalating into an international incident, or at least an inter-dormitory one.

He had a sinking feeling that "peak combat readiness" was about to be tested much sooner than he had planned, and not against an Impact Pillar.

The lady looked like she could, and very much wanted to, use him as an impact pillar.

Her eyes, those calm grey pools, now held a distinct chill. She shifted her weight, a subtle movent, but one that spoke of coiled power, of trained reflexes.

"I believe," Ayra Sand stated, her voice dropping another degree, each word precise and cutting through the air like a shard of ice, "an explanation is in order.

And it had better be a very good one." She took a small, almost imperceptible step forward, the towel tightening around her.

The aura she projected was not that of a startled student, but of a predator whose territory had just been invaded.

Daniel suddenly felt a very strong urge to check if his new A-Grade Phantom Edge Striking Wraps could, in fact, deflect righteous indignation. He doubted it.

The temperature in the tiny bathroom seed to drop, despite the lingering steam.

This was definitely not going to end with a polite apology and a shared cup of herbal tea.
