At the western rear end of the battlefield, Jake gazed at the looming abomination before him with a frown.

"You all have to escape now. This opponent is way beyond your grades!" he instructed his squad mbers,

who imdiately followed the order — fleeing without even glancing back.

"Tsk! Ingrates," Jake cursed. They didn’t even act reluctant about leaving their squad captain behind, fleeing on command as though they had been waiting for that very instruction.

Shaking his head, he gazed at the now-near creature of corruption.

It had the form of an arachnid — the lower body being a spider and the upper part the bare body of a woman.

The spider lower half was built like a tank, its carapace thick and glinting green like tal. Her upper human physique had long flowing hair of dirty black and pale white skin. Her face was revolting — a mouth eerily stretched wide, touching her ears. Within it, a set of intersecting bone-crunching teeth, and a constant stream of drool flowed from the extre corners of her mouth.

[Warning! Sixth Finger of Gluttony — rvada Detected!]

Jake’s nose crumpled at the rotting stench of the Finger of Gluttony.

"Vile creature. I give you the honor of ending your own misery!" Jake spat scornfully. He disdained to get his hands dirty.

"Kakakakakah! You sure speak big for an insect!" rvada laughed uproariously, toxic drool splattering all over the blackened earth as a sizzling sound rang out.

"Oh, insect?" Jake’s gaze blazed with a regal gold cadence. He might have been stripped of his divinity, but his Lord was gracious enough to leave him with a spark.

Though not much, with his innate familiarity with the usage of divinity, a spark was more than enough to vanquish the likes of rvada.

"If you were actually here in your true form, you would have been qualified to say those words. But you co before with a piddling fragnted avatar and still think so highly of your chances?" Jake scoffed as the spark of divinity lded with his broiling Genesis Ether.

rvada’s pupils constricted from shock. "H-how?" She was stunned twofold — one, by the dangerous force of divinity she could feel from Jake. Though faint, it was divinity nonetheless.

And two, to think that a gremlin from a fledgling Ether Plane could tell her situation with a careless glance... This guy wasn’t so simple.

Her deanor changed from carelessly lax to warily pensive. She couldn’t afford to underestimate this guy.

Jake, sensing her change in attitude, smirked. "That’s more like it..."

A long, slick weapon appeared in his grasp — the Remington M700 Hell Render, a sinister long-range sniper.

Divine-mixed Genesis Ether trickled from his fingers into the weapon. Divine energy was always known for restructuring or altering reality.

His aim was to hopefully use his faint divinity to boost the damage capacity of the sniper. As for range? It wasn’t a problem — with his skill Space Fold, he could transfer a projectile through space faster by folding it.

But to his surprise, his energy didn’t enhance the weapon — instead it cased it to morph into another form. Dark crust encased the surface as a billowing haze of ash thrumd constantly from its body. From the muzzle, a flaming red glow blazed as though it was stomaching a furnace within its slender fra, threatening to erupt at any mont.

Suddenly, the weapon linked to his mind, conveying two special abilities it held.

"Well, well, well... things just got easier," Jake chuckled as he read through the info.

[Hell Strike: A bullet baptized by the flaming depths of hell itself, unleashed carrying the undying ember of hell flas.

Soul Rendering: A bullet that surpasses the taphysical and transcends to deal damage to the soul itself.]

He was the second person in Roy’s army to unlock a gun’s true Ether form.

Behind him, a static blue orb levitated, flickering with streams of multicolored lights. This was the physical manifestation of his SSS-grade skill — Oracle.

A mysterious skill whose uses were as nurous as they were mysterious. Even its verified description couldn’t do it justice.

A faint ripple exuded from the orb as Jake’s pupils simred with energy. He began seeing the raw outline of reality itself. In this state, he was able to see movents before they were even made.

rvada squinted as she sensed the existential threat perating the air.

She frowned. This wasn’t how they told her things would go. She was told this was a blackwater fledgling realm — one where just her fragnt avatar could dominate, and she could devour the helpless denizens to her satisfaction.

But now? The urge to flee filled her figure. But under that cold, taunting gaze of Jake, she dared not turn her back to him.

She screeched frightfully as all eight sharp ends of her legs rattled before suddenly bursting into motion.

Her figure streaked through the wind as she rushed to crush the source of her uneasiness.

"Tch! I must be the unluckiest among all the others to end up facing such a dangerous twat!" With how low this plane was, she doubted there could be any other like Jake.

He had to be the sole one — and she was just unlucky to have t him.

She arrived before Jake and, without hesitation, her claws unleashed a rapid, maddened barrage against his figure.

But when her claws t her so-called foe, there was no resistance. The feel of at tearing and bone-crushing sensation was absent.

The figure she was assaulting rippled and slowly faded — and then it dawned on her. "Mirror image!"

Bang!

A resounding shot rang from behind as an ethereal bullet pierced into her head, silently leaving no blood or injury behind.

But on a spiritual level, devastating damage was wrought in her soul. Fine cracks traveled through it...

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Her head swung backward as she scread in pain. The pain of the soul was on a whole other level indeed.

And so her eyes dimd as her soul was imdiately extinguished — her wails dying with her.

Her fra remained whole and frozen, a single sign of damage nowhere to be found.

From behind, Jake’s figure could be seen still in a stance of taking aim, the ash haze around his Remington undulating more actively.

[Congratulations! You have fulfilled your end of accomplishnt: Vanquish Sixth Finger of Gluttony — rvada!]

He let out a mouthful of steamy breath as he gazed at his sniper fondly. "Indeed, Master’s gifts are never so simple."

Unknown to Jake, he had just had the easiest clash against a Finger of Gluttony. Not only that — this was just the beginning of his journey as the One Shot King.
