When Ainsworth heard the Principal's flowery speech, he couldn't help but look at him with scrutiny, 'For a rough man like the Principal, he sure does spout a lot of bullshit. I really can't judge him by his looks alone. Otherwise, he looked like a typical battle junkie.'
Nevertheless, Ainsworth stood up from his seat and headed to the stage, where he was viewed by countless students and school staff.
They looked at him with excitent, as if anticipating that he would create a miracle.
'Sigh, this is the problem with being the top-ranking student. Soone not used to this would feel like their every move is being watched. It also doesn't help that Edenbridge High is one of the world's top awakener schools.'
'The problem with being in this position is that even if I succeeded, at most, they'd believe that I'm displaying the capabilities that I should achieve. But if I do manage to fail, even if it's not a failure by normal definitions, they'd criticize my so-called failure.'
'Just like if the Rank 1 student beca Rank 2. That in itself is not a failure by normal standards, but those students and school staff would deem it as a failure as the Rank 1 is no longer performing the capabilities they should fulfill.'
However, despite this, Ainsworth was unfazed by the attention and expectations imposed upon him.
Compared to what Elyndra was facing, where she was not only the Rank 2 but also the Crown Princess of the Valtoria Empire and had to represent the royal family, his situation was nothing in comparison to that.
Soon enough, Ainsworth arrived at the center of the stage, standing beside the awakening stone monolith.
All eyes were on him, like a huge mountain he had to taphorically carry. It also doesn't help that every move of his was being stread live on television, and people all over the world were watching him.
After taking a deep breath, Ainsworth placed his hand on the awakening stone monolith, a blue-colored stone with a crystal-like texture.
When he placed his hand, the awakening stone monolith soon shone with bright blue light until it displayed his class in it with golden-colored text:
[A-rank Adventurer]
When a close-up of the awakening stone monolith was displayed on the screen for the students and school staff to see, as well as broadcast live, the crowd was in an uproar!
"Damn! Isn't he the Rank 3 student? Even the Rank 69 student awakened an S-rank Class!"
"A-rank Adventurer? Despite being A-rank, that class is quite powerful as it allowed an awakener to learn all class skills and equip all types of equipnt regardless of class. However, it's more of a late ga class due to how it would take twice the effort to achieve progress in developing abilities compared to those classes who specialized in it."
"I didn't expect the Rank 3 to awaken an A-rank class."
While the school staff were silent and the students were mostly comnting and criticizing, the sa wasn't the case for the braindead young master and his two lackeys.
After realizing that Ainsworth ssed up in his awakening ceremony, Caspian imdiately mocked him, "Heh! The Rank 3 awakened a re A-rank class! My SS-rank Fire Knight class can easily squash an A-rank Adventurer like an ant!"
Lackey 1 bootlicked, "Young master should have been the Rank 3! I now doubt that the Rank 3 cheated to get his current rank."
Lackey 2 added, "True, true! If he hadn't cheated, young master would have been the Rank 3, not that cheater Ainsworth!"
When Caspian and his two lackeys were mocking Ainsworth, the crowd went silent and no longer comnted on Ainsworth.
The school staff were already silent as usual. On the other hand, the students didn't want to comnt on Ainsworth after Caspian and his two lackeys' mockery so that they wouldn't be lumped on the sa side as them.
Contrary to what might one expect, even if Ainsworth only awakened an A-rank class, most of them weren't even worthy to mock Ainsworth as the class they had awakened was either equal to his, or lower.
As for those who could, they thought about it and decided it wasn't worth it to offend Ainsworth. If they were to offend Ainsworth, they would offend Dante and Rian as well.
Dante had quite a powerful military background and his awakening of the SSS-rank Immovable Shield class had already made him an existence they couldn't afford to provoke.
Since mocking Ainsworth wouldn't do them any good, they just shut up and minded their own business.
After all, they, the students of Edenbridge High, weren't idiots. Caspian had a beef with Ainsworth while they didn't.
Because of that, there was a deafening silence that perated the Awakening Facility, with Caspian soon snorting, "What a bunch of wimps."
Not wanting to get Caspian the upper hand, Dante spoke up, "What do you, a re SS-rank Awakener, get to act like hot shit? Even I, an SSS-rank Awakener, didn't comnt anything. When was it your turn to do so?"
Rian nodded, "That guy's delusional. Even among SS-rank Classes, my SS-rank Hero of Light class is superior to his SS-rank Fire Knight class."
"And he seed to have not paid attention in class, as classes can be increased in rank using the Class Rank Upgrade Crystal."
Rian wasn't lying since that was common knowledge among awakeners.
A re F-rank Farr could even beco an SSS-rank Farr with the use of Class Rank Upgrade Crystals.
Of course, even among classes of the sa rank, there still existed quality in class. Such as even if an F-rank Farr class beca an A-rank Farr class, it's still far inferior to Ainsworth's awakened A-rank Adventurer class.
However, Class Rank Upgrade Crystals were a valuable yet scarce resource. It could only be obtained in special rewards in Otherworld Missions.
When Caspian heard Rian's words, Caspian wasn't convinced and he further mocked, "Heh, you must be the delusional one. If that pleb Ainsworth can cough up Class Rank Upgrade Crystals and surpass my SS-rank Fire Knight class, I'll do a handstand and eat shit on this live broadcast!"
