[Awakener Ainsworth, please rescue SSS-rank Awakener Lucien Arkvale as soon as possible! He has been complaining to for a long ti about the lack of reinforcents from SSS-rank Awakeners!]
[You clearly have already arrived, and therefore, reinforcents have already arrived. Yet, he kept complaining about regarding leaving him to his death. It’s wronging this honest and upright Earth Will. So, can you please make a move now and save Lucien? His death will be a loss for humanity.]
Faced with the Earth Will’s Voice of The World, Ainsworth remained indifferent, rely replying, "Can’t you see I’m about to assassinate these three ignorant idiots? If I save Lucien now, all the waiting and concealnt I did will be all for naught."
"With your insight, you should know that there hasn’t been a good opening for to intervene since the start of their battle. Although Varnak’s incompetence has been fully displayed, his two teammates aren’t the sa as him, as that dragon and skeleton are too steady and cautious."
"If I show the intent to attack now, I’ll be discovered by them as my concealnt wouldn’t work anymore. It’s already brazen and bold of to enter their perception range this near, and attacking now will be a death wish."
To further convince the Voice of The World, Ainsworth raised both of his hands and sighed helplessly, "And don’t you know my current power? I’m only a weak SS-rank Awakener."
"You don’t expect to intervene in the battle between four SSS-rank powerhouses? And besides, you ntioned that what Lucien is looking for is reinforcents from other SSS-rank Awakeners. It’s clearly above my pay grade, unless..."
Ainsworth dragged out what he wanted to say, but ultimately didn’t say anything. However, the Earth Will knew what he ant.
It was nothing more than: Unless, you pay more!
Knowing Ainsworth’s intentions as well as the dangers of saving Lucien from two Demon Kings and one Monster King, the Earth Will reflected on itself and responded with sincerity.
-Ding!
[Awakener Ainsworth Arthurford has received a Rescue Mission!]
[Rescue Mission: Rescue Lucien Arkvale (SSS )]
[Objective: Lucien Arkvale’s character, morality, and power has already been evaluated by the Earth Will and have deed it that his death will be a loss for humanity. You are the only one available who can intervene in ti and rescue him from his impending doom.
You can rescue him using any thod. What matters is the result, as the end will justify the ans in this Rescue Mission.]
[Reward: 100 Million Awakener Points, SSS- Stat Crystal x1, SSS-rank Power Experience Card (Duration: 10 minutes) x1]
[Ti Limit: Before it has been determined that Lucien can no longer be rescued, as he either dies or is already beyond saving.]
The objective of the SSS-grade Rescue Mission sounded simple and even had a lot of leeway. However, it didn’t change the fact that it required intervening in a battle between 4 SSS-rank powerhouses.
Such an extrely difficult mission objective ant that it could only be accomplished by a handful of people within the Awakener Association. It just so happened that those who were qualified to accept this rescue mission were busy or had been intercepted by other Demon Kings, leaving an SS-rank Awakener like Ainsworth to be the only man for the job.
If it were to only rescue Lucien, Ainsworth still had confidence he could fulfill such a simple mission objective, so he no longer lingered on that part and shifted his attention to the mission rewards.
When Ainsworth saw the mission rewards, he ignored the Awakener Points, and he couldn’t help but stare at the SSS- Stat Crystal written on the screen.
’Fuck, is this okay? That’s an SSS- Grade Stat Crystal. If I obtain it, I can undoubtedly beco an SSS-rank Awakener! If that happens, I’ll be the fourteenth SSS-rank Awakener on Earth, assuming that there hadn’t been any hidden SSS-rank Awakeners on Earth aside from the publicized thirteen.’
While Ainsworth was fantasizing about his success if he beca an SSS-rank Awakener, he couldn’t help but wonder, ’This really is weird, I’ve only completed one Otherworld Mission and haven’t even been registered in the Awakener Association as a legitimate Awakener.’
’Yet, at this rate, my starting Awakener rank will be SSS-rank.’
He couldn’t help but muse, ’My life has been very eventful since my transmigration that it can be written into a fantasy wish-fulfillnt web novel. If my life is a novel and there’s an author, wouldn’t the Author be flad by his readers for being unrestrained in giving power-ups for the protagonist?’
’After all, at this rate, I might beco a God in the next Otherworld Mission. But in most novels I read, authors who write overpowered protagonists would then regret it and then abruptly nerf the protagonist to balance the story out.’
Recalling the novels he read in his past life, Ainsworth noticed that his situation was quite similar to those of OP web novel protagonists, aside from the blatant nerfing in the later stages of the novel.
However, he knew that reality was different from those novels. Using the protagonists from those novels as an example, Ainsworth knew how to avoid his power from being nerfed.
’Well, speaking of which, I might not be nerfed, but my sister Kyla had indeed experienced such a thing. After all, in novels where the protagonist has a powerful eye as his golden finger, they’ll then encounter a forced event where they’d be blinded or sothing.’
’In other words, as long as I don’t beco ntally retarded and seek death, or encounter the Mysterious Eye Organization this early, I should be fine.’
After comforting himself, Ainsworth shifted his attention to Lucien, who was already in a very perilous situation.
He didn’t have to accept the Rescue Mission since there wasn’t an option to accept or reject it. Of course, it was completely optional, and even if Lucien died and he failed, there wouldn’t be any mission penalty.
The other two rewards, naly the 100 Million Awakener Points and SSS-rank Power Experience Card, didn’t attract his attention much compared to the SSS- Stat Crystal, but they were still undeniable high-quality rewards.
Knowing that Lucien’s life was already paid for by the Earth Will, Ainsworth focused his attention on preventing Lucien from dying, waiting for an opening like a hunter stalking its prey.
When Ainsworth noticed that Lucien was casting a Forbidden Magic Spell, he continued waiting.
After Absolute Zero was cast and Xalvureth, Varnak, and the SSS-rank Ancient Space Dragon were rendered motionless, Ainsworth imdiately thought, ’Now’s the ti!’
