Chapter 85: A Racial Skill

"Add 15 points to Strength, 15 to Agility, and 16 to Spirit."

He ordered.

[NEW STATS]

[Strength: 205]

[Agility: 215]

[Spirit: 156]

[Combat Power: 446]

[Attribute Points: 0]

With that done, White moved on.

[SKILLS AND ABILITIES]

[ALL SKILLS LOCKED!]

"Tsk, won’t even let me upgrade them?"

[New Ability Category Available]

[ 1 New Racial Ability Available]

Of course, he had gotten something called a racial ability as the reward for the geic fusion.

He wasn’t that much excited about it, as he didn’t fancy having some supernatural part in him.

But right now, it was the only skill that was available to him, prompting him to check it out.

[RACIAL ABILITY]

[Skill Name: Predatory Mark]

[Skill Source: Werewolf Genome (Heart Transplant)]

[Skill Level: 1]

[Description: Marks a target as prey, granting tracking awareness and increased combat efficiency against them.]

[Current Effects:

[Hunter’s Awareness: The marked target cannot fully escape detection. Their presence is faintly perceived regardless of obstacles.

[Execution Instinct (Minor): When the target shows signs of weakness, hesitation, or fear, the user experiences a brief spike in speed and precision.]

[Current Limitations:

Only one target can be marked at a time.

The mark requires direct intent and focus to activate.

Enhanced effects are unstable and short-lived.

Stronger targets can resist or reduce the influence of the mark.

[Note: This ability improves significantly with level. Higher levels may enhance tracking accuracy, duration, and lethality of execution phases.]

_______

The sight of the skill made White freeze for a moment.

He could remember a memory of him that had been hazy before, leading him to grip his head tight as everything rapidly pieced together.

This skill... it was exactly what that White werewolf had used against him.

White had seen his blue eyes first focused on him, and when he had turned back and run, the creature had instantly caught up to him.

Reading this, it made it appear as if its speed was bolstered by his own fear.

’Was it using this skill?’ he mused to himself.

He had expected something like enhanced senses, which were what werewolves were known for, or a transformation like growing claws or fur, but this skill was completely unlike anything he expected at all.

It was almost like an ability, and White wasn’t repulsed by having it.

But there were a lot of limitations on the skill, though he didn’t worry too much about that, as he looked at the end of the panel.

[Ability Upgrade Cards Possessed: 3]

Since all of his Limitless Skills were currently inaccessible, he decided to put all of his upgrade cards straight into that.

"Input all 3 Ability Upgrade Cards into Predatory Mark," he ordered.

[Ability Upgrade Complete!]

[Skill Name: Predatory Mark]

[Skill Level: 4]

[Description: Marks a target as prey, granting enhanced tracking awareness and peak combat efficiency against them.]

[CURRENT EFFECTS]

[Hunter’s Awareness: The marked target cannot fully escape detection. Presence is constantly perceived through most obstacles, including concealments.]

[Execution Instinct (Enhanced): Upon detecting hesitation, weakness, or fear in the target, the user experiences a massive spike in speed, precision, and reflexes, allowing near-perfect execution.]

[Predatory Reflexes: Incoming attacks or movement from the marked target are anticipated instinctively, granting preemptive dodges and counters.]

[NEW LEVEL EFFECTS]

Multi-Sense Tracking: The target’s location is actively projected into the user’s mind within a 50-meter radius.

Weakness Amplification: Every flaw or hesitation is exaggerated in perception, enabling precise strikes or disabling maneuvers.

Combat Efficiency Surge: Attack potency, speed, and coordination against the marked target are significantly increased for the duration of the mark.

[CURRENT LIMITATIONS]

Only one target may be marked at a time.

Duration is finite; must be refreshed.

Extremely powerful targets may resist or partially negate the mark.

_______

"Quite the clear upgrade," White mused to himself.

This was one of those skills that he could better understand by trying it out, meaning he needed to go out there and mark something.

Checking the time on the panel: 11:30 PM.

It was currently very late at night.

White looked around him, his eyes drifting to the mattress on the ground.

"No way," he mused to himself, turning his back.

He had been asleep for two weeks anyway.

What would one day of not sleeping do to him?

Besides, there was no way he would be sleeping in that ’thing’ today.

"Perhaps I can use this to get some more points to get into a better apartment."

"Then, I can properly check out the Otherworld Dream manual," he mused to himself, and in the next moment, stepped out of the apartment.

The stone rolled back, and White wasn’t worried about his manuals getting stolen.

The living space here might be shabby, but the security was beyond top-notch.

Only his handprint could roll away that mountain stone.

With that, he confidently moved out onto the mountainous path, his eyes on the panel as he tried to look for an academy mission and narrow down the location of the jungle where he could complete the mission of hunting beasts.

He was on that when,

VROOOOOM!

He felt the air above his head vibrate, and unconsciously his head jerked to the side.

RIIIIIIIIP

The mountainous ground behind him, a meter away, was sliced to nothing as a blade carved a deep hole inside the rock.

White’s eyes narrowed, turning his head up.

He was on a narrow mountain path, and about seven meters up, a total of three figures stood.

One of them had his hand raised at him, the one who had thrown the blade.

White’s expression at the sight of the figure turned cold.

Right now, his cultivation might indeed be locked away, but the truth is, his physical attributes, which he had enhanced through both cultivation and attribute points, were still accessible to him, granting him insane reaction speed.

If he were indeed just a normal student with only 20 points, that blade would have nailed straight into his forehead, killing him in one stroke.

’They really move for the kill, here, huh...’ White mused, cracking his neck and shoulder.

When he opened his eyes, their color had changed to crimson, with a dark slit in the center.

’That makes things easier for me...’

’Activate Predatory Mark.’
