Chapter 69: Mutated Swamp Blastoad
Quick and decisive, the creature actually managed to endure the pain it felt and released an attack on its own toward its opponent.
Desther was a little bit surprised by its action. He did not expect it would retaliate imdiately.
Fortunately, he was never the kind of person that underestimated his opponents.
The mont he saw the attack, he imdiately stepped to the side to dodge it.
Although it may look quick, in Desther’s eyes, it was actually not. With over a hundred Wisdom and Intelligence Attributes, there was no way he would be caught off guard from an attack that ca from a monster with its highest attribute barely surpassing 50.

[ Intelligence Attribute:

[ If Marked Target is eliminated: Free Attribute:
15 (Permanent) ]
[ Theft Mark: 4/5 ]
For an E-nace dungeon, this was actually already a high attribute.
It just so happened that Desther was here; else, those who entered here would surely have a hard ti facing this dungeon boss.
Fortunately for them, they don’t have to face it any more.
The red tongue of the dungeon boss went past him completely.
Desther did not simply dodge. At the sa mont, he also took a single step forward. His body shot like a rocket toward the distant monster, arriving almost instantly in front of it.
In such a close distance, the huge monster had trouble adjusting its body.
It raised its massive arm and was about to swipe those huge claws toward him.
However, Desther was faster and smarter compared to the dungeon boss.
The mont the dungeon boss raised its claws, he imdiately targeted its shoulder with two consecutive Magic Bullets.
The monster’s shoulder instantly lost strength the mont the Magic Bullet struck the joints.
Not even waiting for it to recover, Desther took another step forward, closing in even further.
BOOM!
His fist smashed toward its exposed abdon.
SHRIEEK!
The monster let out a painful scream.
It could be seen how hurt it was from that attack. Forceful enough that it seed like it was hit by a truck, the massive body of the dungeon boss was actually hurled backward due to the imnse force contained with that single punch of Desther.
As its body was forced backward, Desther followed right behind it and released another punch toward its stomach the mont it was about to stop.
Once! Twice! Thrice!
The process repeated ti and ti again.
After hitting the combo ten tis, Desther finally stopped in his tracks as he looked at his arm.
Unknowingly, blood had now coated his entire arm, but not a single part of his body was injured.
Up ahead of him, the dungeon boss barely moved as it lay weakly at the top of a massive root.
Blood flowed out like crazy in all of its orifices.
It tried to get up, but the injury it sustained was no joke.
Every ti Desther struck it with a punch, bones all over its body would always produce cracking sounds.
Seeing that it was still breathing, Desther slowly walked forward and finished it once and for all.
As he looked at it up close, he imdiately detested the idea of eating its at.
Although so monsters were indeed edible, and he himself had even tried so before in order to survive, eating such a grueso-looking monster like this dungeon boss just does not suit his appetite.
’If there’s no other food, though. I think it’s barely passable...’ he thought to himself as he conjured two consecutive Magic Bullets, aiming them at the monster’s head.
Just as he was about to release it, Desther suddenly thought of an idea.
’Could I use Skill Theft on it since it’s essentially just a bigger version of Blastoads?’
As the idea ford inside his head, he imdiately brought up Skill Theft and tried to use it on the dying creature.
Unfortunately, Desther received no reaction.
’I guess I’m just thinking too much.’
Swoosh! Swoosh!
The two Magic Bullets ended the monster’s life.

The mont he killed the dungeon boss, Desther also vaguely felt sothing inside his brain.
Just like how Awakened Professionals could sense the exit gate the mont they killed a monster inside a dungeon, when Dungeon Bosses were killed, there were also certain chances that the killer would instinctively know where the Dungeon Core was.
Since dungeon monsters, and even the dungeon boss, could respawn after a set amount of ti, Awakened Professionals would usually farm the dungeon boss until they could finally sense the location of the dungeon core.
Fortunately, Desther seed to have gotten lucky once again, managing to sense the dungeon core’s location after his first try.
And from the looks of it, the dungeon core was not that far from his current location either.
Before going there, though, he decided to check the other notifications that were released after he killed the dungeon boss first.
[ You have killed the Dungeon Boss: Mutated Swamp Blastoad- Experience Points
69% ]
Since it was a dungeon boss and it was the first ti that it was killed, the experience points gained was pretty massive.
His level imdiately shot to Level 8.
Too bad experience points surplus would reset upon level up, else, his Level would have been Level 8 with 24% instead of Level 8 and 0% progress.
Anyway, Desther did not take it too much. Once he completed the mission, he would also receive another batch of experience points.
Now that he could no longer earn experience points and the dungeon boss was already killed, the only thing left was pretty much the dungeon core that he must get and destroy.
Once he destroys the dungeon core itself, he will receive another set of experience points as well.
Once he breaks that dungeon core, Desther refuses to believe that the mission given by the title would remain elusive and silent.
A few minutes later, Desther stood upon a massive tree with a huge hole in its base trunk.
And inside that trunk, a glowing orb was suspended in midair, defying gravity as it slowly rotated.
Without hesitation, Desther took a step forward and raised his hand to take the dungeon core.
