Chapter 59: The Butterfly And Her Master

10 years old William strolled through the forest, the sun at its highest peak, reflecting on the vibrant colors giving it an enchanting view, the forest in this dinsion was second to none, and its magnificence was an eye-catching sight.

Williams’s crystal green eyes darted to the library in the distance at the top of the mountain, it was a surreal view as he turned his eyes back to the beautiful scenery that lay before him, the birds chirping loudly but more importantly, it was the peace and change he sought, he closed his eyes for a mont and allowed the breeze to caress his skin and his shoulder-length silver hair.

He sighed and opened his eyes before setting the art supplies he ca with, his easel, his canvas, and the variety of colors he would use to express himself, painting was sothing he does when he needed ti to himself, staying in the house of knowledge can only be burdenso, his mind craved sothing different, maybe peace.

He picked his brush and allowed his innermost mind to set free as he tried to recreate the breathtaking scene, it was hours but that didn’t matter to him, it was all about letting his hands do the magic and painting has always co naturally to him, the sa way as breathing... he did his first sketch at the age of two, by randomly sketching Basker and the old man was impressed saying William has a talent.

It was good to have sothing he would consider his own.

It was already sunset and William was almost through with his work which was rely a recreation of the view. Suddenly a random butterfly descended on Williams’s hand he was using to paint, causing him to pause his action.

He narrowed his eyes on the tiny creature that was distracting him from resuming his painting. But soon it descended to the top of his easel and he was finally able to finish his work.

Done, he finally packed his things up but the butterfly remained, William squatted to his things on the ground where the butterfly was.

"You should leave, I’m not staying here any longer," he said to it, although the butterfly cannot speak back to him he knew it could understand him, he took his ti to study it, it had beautiful obsidian wings sparky form the sunlight reflection, it was just as stunning as the view.

He carried his things and walked through the portal that suddenly appeared before him.

William carefully hung his finished painting on the wall. Most of the paintings in the library were his, he has done so much over the years that he lost count.

After placing his work of art properly he took his place to assess its beauty, it was just like the view he saw earlier, identical to it to the point any other audience would think it was a photograph, Now he can see the view without having to go outside.

He only went outside for painting, other than that he does not, the other creatures who inhabit the forest are afraid of him, and at a re glimpse they would hide, the fairies, goblins, unicorns, and other magical creatures of this dinsion.

Perhaps they were scared of him because of his cold and dark aura or because of the ties he has with Basker, whichever it was. He was the only one in this huge place and sotis there was a space in his heart he cannot fathom perhaps the need for company, yes there was Basker but the old man was mostly asleep, Basker was getting weak each ti so there was no much ti spent with him except when teaching him about the ways of the library.

Maybe when he finds his fairy the loneliness will ease, Basker told him when he is age 13 he would start searching, for a fairy who was fated to reunite him with parents he never knew of, it was a tricky purpose, one he was blindly subjected to and nothing else.

He blinked out of his thoughts when an obsidian butterfly descended on his painting.

"You," he said. It was that sa butterfly and it has followed him all the way here? How strange.

From that mont on wherever he was the butterfly would follow, his studies, his library, his chambers, and quite uncultured... his bath.

"Do you not have anywhere else to be?"

Still no answer from the strange creature that was fixated on him.

Not until one day when William ca to know the lifespan of a butterfly, they lived only two weeks and the obsidian butterfly spent those exact two weeks with him.

William watched with his crystal green eyes at the butterfly that rested weakly on his palm, not as vibrant as it was.

"How foolish of you, you have spent your entire lifespan following

around" he was quite curious and confused. "Tell

how you feel right now? You are about to die in my palm and I don’t care"

It waved its wings weakly nurous tis, over ti William has co to understand it as words.

"You do not regret it?" the answer he got and then a thought crossed his mind. "Tell , little thing, do you still wish to follow

around?"

Two waves. ans yes.

"If that is what you wish"

Without admitting it the loneliness in William’s heart has slowly erased for even though he thought the butterfly was a nuisance it still kept him company, it was a different feeling.

"I’m not doing this because I care, I’m doing this because of your good nature," he said leaning close to it, he has learned of a spell known as ’The Blessing’, one that was created by a famous dark warlock known as ’Magnus’.

He placed a kiss on the butterfly and his spell ca into effect, dark aura masked around the butterfly and it slowly grew in size into a girl his age, and William was now pressing his lips on her forehead before he pulled away and stared at the naked girl staring at him blankly.

"Your na shall be Elvenia"

Her eyes shocked at his words and a bright smile filled her lips, staring at the demi-god who gave her a new purpose and life.
