Chapter 147: Giggles

A/N: Song For The Background ~ Flight Of The Inner Bird By Yekezkel Raz

☆Soft Giggles☆

At the sudden foreign sound, I flicked my eyes open, forgetting what I was about to do instantly. For the re sound of giggle echoed around the lobby. I looked around in an attempt to find it but I couldn’t.

Where is it coming from?

Suddenly I felt soone pass , running into my peripheral vision and I stilled when I saw bouncing amber hair, waving back and forth, long and reaching her tiny feet, her hold on her gown raising as she ran in slow motion. I was instantly captivated by this little creature, I did not know why but I wanted to keep hearing her giggles, and so I took a step forward, swiftly following the giggling girl.

It felt like she was calling , although it sounded like she was having a heartfelt run, she was happy as if soone was chasing her in a ga, but when I looked behind

I saw no one.

Who was ant to be chasing her?

I followed her all the way from the lobby into the garden as she kept running, I was unable to keep up for I was still running and so I raised my gown and chased after her, her giggles becoming the loudest and before I knew it I found myself smiling, I did not know why but that single sound from her was just so uplifting, it was childlike, full of happiness, happiness that weighed in my very heart and it felt like it would explode.

But my smile suddenly fell when she was nowhere to be seen, I didn’t know why but I beca worried, looking around the woods of tall trees in a spin.

Where is she?

I caught the sound but I still couldn’t spot her, it echoed in the whole area and the birds were taking flight away from the trees, distracting .

☆Soft Giggles☆

It ca again and I made sure to focus and that was when I saw her again, her little bare feet running, and I dash after her, panting, with a smile on my lips, taking hitching breath like I could actually feel the fatigue of the run getting to , even though this was just in my subconsciousness.

It felt liberating as I ran, it got my heart speeding so fast and I wanted so badly to catch her, her soft giggles were an endorsent to my ears, almost like I derived happiness just from hearing her laughter.

Instantly I ca to a stop because I spotted her a few distances away from , but she was no longer running, just standing with her back facing . The wind gushed in as my heart pounded because that was when she gradually turned to , the wind carrying her long amber hair in slow motion, and she fully faced

with a swirl jumping up and down like she was excited.

My heart instantly stopped when I took in her features

Even as she prided herself in jumping, I took in everything, she’s beautiful, stunning, petite, and extraordinary, skin so light like the snow itself, freckles plastered on her face adding to her cuteness, her smile so wide showing her teeth and her eyes, gods her eyes!

The softest mixture of green and vermillion, the vermillion color so prominent and the green swirled within them like magic, crystal looking and breathtaking. She is magic, she is a pure definition of magic.

I gasped awakening... as reality finally ca back to , and for a minute my brain hit a jam and I was unable to rember anything.

"Thank the gods, you’re awake!" Aldon said shooting from his seat and it ca back to

like a nightmare, the sensation of his hand wrapped around my neck, and how I silently begged him to stop but he didn’t, he kept going until he strangled

to death.

In panic and pure fear, I shifted away from his touch when he reached for , almost like he was a disease.

"Co on Aveline," he said softly and sat on the bed and watched

with worried eyes. "I won’t hurt you"

His voice was soothing, totally different from the emotionless one I heard the mont he had his hand on . The look in his silver eyes was like a wave of horror but now he looked at

like he always did, in love and adoration.

Did I hallucinate the whole thing?

"Aveline"

I darted my trembling gaze at him. "I was worried" he took my hand and I wanted to yank it away but his grip was too tight, if he could have our hands rged together he would.

"Look..." he began and I saw pain and regret in his eyes. "I’m sorry for the way I acted, I cherish your life more than mine, you know that" he stroked his thumb on my hand and chills kept finding their way to my body.

"I did that so that you would understand why death cannot take you, you needed to know"

I didn’t hallucinate any of it.

"Y-You strangled

to d-death" I couldn’t even speak properly because I was too shaky.

He smiled. "But you ca back to " he cupped my cheek and I wanted to vanish away from his hold. "You will always co back to , you and I are destined for each other, chosen by fate itself" he suddenly pulled

into a tight embrace and terror shook through

and yet he held

like it was the last thing on earth.

"My Star, you’re my absoluteness" he ran his hand up and down my head, it should be a soothing action but with every movent, it felt like my skin would jump away from my body.

He pulled away and our faces were inches apart, he closed the distance but I knew he would kiss

so I turned my head but his grip on my chin caused

to whimper as he forced my lips to his.

Silent tears stread down my cheeks, and his mouth road on mine hungrily, but I felt nothing, just cold and stiff.

He pulled away. "You shouldn’t push

away Aveline, we’re bound together" he stroked my cheeks. "And I will have you completely because it is ant to be" he smiles.

"Our Union Ceremony will happen tomorrow and our eternity will begin, do you not want that Aveline? You have always wanted that"

I only nod, unable to find my voice, afraid of what he might do, because his eyes held sothing heavy, sothing I haven’t seen until now.

His smile broadened and he wiped my tears before letting

go, "Sleep my love, you must be exhausted, we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow" he placed a quick kiss on my lips before leaving.
