Chapter 135: Monts That Should Last Forever

"Wiliam!" I gasped, holding onto him tightly. I heard him chuckle.

"It is not funny!" I wrapped my arms around his waist.

"Relax Ava... you won’t fall I won’t let you, you’re safe with "

I didn’t listen, squeezing my eyes shut and hoping this will end quickly, I’m not a fan of height. His hand firm on my waist caused

to open my eyes and t with him scanning through the top shelves with his hand.

I didn’t focus on the height anymore but instead, I focused my eyes on him, watching as his brow ford into a serious action as he searched for the manuscript.

A smile found lips, I could watch him all day, every day, and forever, as long as I got to gaze upon his handso features and his wonderful silver hair I loved to run my hands through.

After he took what he needed, he suggested we explore the top of the shelves closer to the ceiling that showed the night skies. I disagreed at first but he assured

nothing will happen. So I trusted his words as the platform moved and I got to see parts of the library I haven’t seen before from this height.

And it was extrely breathtaking... the wonders this library held never ceases to amaze , it was even bigger in this angle, the shelves spawn for miles and I wonder how he single handedly monitored all knowledge and catalogs. William is an amazing man.

We didn’t take too long and we were back to the ground. I sighed in relief, there was no way I was going on a trip to the top shelves ever again, no matter how convincing he will sound next ti. I admit it was a wonderful experience, but my anxiety all through didn’t help.

William watches

with a smile on his lips, leaning his back against the shelf and opening the book he took.

"You’re still shaking"

How won’t I? I cleared my throat looking to the side with my flushed cheeks as he scanned through the manuscript. I yawned. I was so tired but I didn’t want to retire, I had to stay awake because I knew Willaim still had much to do.

"Avoiding , Aveline?" I gasped turning to the side, that voice... It was Aldon’s. I turned to William but my blood chilled, he was gone, vanished.

"W-William!" I panicked. There was no way I had fallen asleep, I was clearly still awake so how?

"Aveline"

I gasped, turning and finding Aldon before

with a worried expression. "Why do you avoid , when you call for ?"

I backed away from him hoping to create so space.

"Are you scared of ? I have done anything to cause you harm?"

I shook my head. "No," I said. "But I’m scared you might, with your words and your actions"

"Aveline, I have always cared for you and I always will, whatever I tell you is nothing but the truth"

"Then you do know ... the ti I was here in this dinsion?" I asked.

He sighed heavily. "You will not hear it from , but see it for yourself, you’re my destiny just as much as I am to you. After the voices of your people co what is lost and also what is to be gained" he took a step closer to

and I made no move to back away from him, I couldn’t I was suddenly propelled by his silver eyes.

"You’re running out of ti, Aveline"

"W-What do you an?"

He cupped my cheeks.

"The longer you stay here the more hurting it will be"

The mont he said those words I felt an uncontrollable pain in my shoulder, my birthmark was burning.

"Aveline"

I looked over at him with pained eyes. "I’m sorry if you feel I want to take you away, but you will see for yourself, why you cannot belong here, and why you’re not ant for this world but mine"

I gasped awake and t with green eyes watching .

It was a dream, a dream that happened with William here.

"Ava"

I trembled and hugged him tightly, he remained still as I wrapped my arms around him and buried my face in his chest.

"Are you alright?" he asked but I didn’t want to pull away or talk and thankfully he asked nothing else and I just remained in his arms with him wrapped around . I felt safe, but it didn’t once ease , I kept pondering about everything Aldon told .

’I’m sorry if you feel I want to take you away, but you will see for yourself, why you cannot belong here, and why you’re not ant for this world but mine...’

It has been 2 weeks since Ava awoke and held him through the night, but ever since that day Ava has acted okay, she slept okay and smiled more. But that doesn’t an William didn’t have a hunch that sothing was wrong, sothing is bothering her and he needs to find out what. Maybe he was even hallucinating the whole thing because Ava was more jovial than ever with not a single thing out of place.

She read more, spent ti with him and everything was just okay? But he couldn’t shrug the feeling of sothing being off, it was faint but yet it remained there and each ti he asked her if she was alright or if there was sothing she wanted to tell him, she would simply smile and shake her head without the faintest doubt.

So at night when she spent he would monitor her but nothing was still out of place, it was safe to say everything was okay for now.

But... he couldn’t get her question out of his head.

’If I truly was an Elf... will they co for ?’

Her question that night still haunted him and gave him a feeling his body couldn’t handle, it either caused him to be disturbed or stirred fear within him. William Basker Darkmore was afraid, yes... he was afraid that she would one day disappear, it caused his very hands to shake.

That’s why he didn’t pause in his search for a way to summon Basker’s remaining spirit tethered to the Library and find out about his missing mories, he was still in the dark about this and he didn’t like it... the closer he gets the more he would find out his reason for leaving Ava in the mortal Realm, how foolish he was for doing such.

But he has a hunch, a hunch that maybe he did that to protect her from sothing, but from what?

’Her entirety has always been mine... long before you were even born!’

The migraine ca again when the words echoed in his ears, he was forced to hold his head at the sharp pain and a frown pressed against his features and he squeezed his eyes shut and growled.

That voice... Was it a split mory again? Just like when he heard Basker’s in a mory he didn’t have, could this be one too? He stared down at his hand against the table, it was trembling at its own accord.

His body... his body was trying to resist sothing, it was trying to fight sothing or maybe warn him of sothing.

But what?

His body has never acted this way before.

"Master" He looked up and found Severus dropping so books on his table. "Is everything alright Master? You look like you’re in pain"

"I’m fine" Willaim waved it off. "Where is Ava?"

"She is with Elvenia and Sophia," he says with a smile on his lips. "My lady appears to have taken an interest in farming, she spends her ti there mostly helping Elvenia harvest"

"I see," William said as a small smile found his lips. "Handle the rest," he said, suddenly rising to his feet. Severus bowed in response as William walked out of the library.

William strode all his way to the back of the building where the glass house was, and from a distance he watched his wife work with Elvenia but she was laughing at sothing and it was such a beautiful sound, one he would never get used to.

She looks happy. Elvenia mumbled sothing but he could tell she was trying to hold in her laugh. Elvenia and Ava have gotten quite close, he knew Elvenia to be a type who doesn’t easily approve of anything or anyone, but it seems like with Ava so things may just change.

She studied as she washed her hands and took off her apron, saying sothing to Elvenia before stepping out.

And then their eyes connected, her smile beca broader and she slowly walked to him, William didn’t take his eyes off her even for a second.

"You have taken an interest in farming, wife?"

She blushed. "It appears to be sothing I’m good at, at least Elvenia doesn’t scold

for doing sothing wrong" she giggled and he just wanted to stand there and watch her talk and her soft giggles that followed, he could watch her forever.

"William?"

"Hmm?"

There was a worried look on her face. "You spaced out are you-" she couldn’t finish because her sudden intake of breath was unstable, what happened next was like a bad dream unfolding before him. Ava suddenly fainted but he caught her in his arms before she hit the ground.

"Ava!" he panicked, holding her limp body, her body beyond hot. His eyes raked her entire body as his mind shut off any process, all he could feel and think was fright until he ntally regained his movents.

He quickly grabbed her wrist to check her pulse but he froze because when he attempted to hold her wrist, it simply just passed through like she was invisible.
