Nicklaus was seated on his throne, his expression unreadable, his eyes completely dark with no life in them, he has been like this ever since she disappeared, the weather has been the coldest since then but it wasn’t compared to his heart or the way he felt, he felt lost, he felt empty, a deep hollow feeling, when he heard what happened from Alaric it was like his world stopped moving.
Celeste says it might have been her fox blood that caused such to happen and for that, they have been on the lookout for her ever since he didn’t know how long she has disappeared but it felt like centuries to him. He knew deep down that the incident couldn’t possibly be because of her Fox blood.
His fist clenched hard, it would have been no other than her mother, she must have found out she was within the Vampire Realm and sorted a way to get to her. ’Damn woman, you always strive to keep them apart’ he thought as his fangs descended, his bloodthirst getting heavier and the air chilling, parts of the throne room turning ice and breaking apart.
"Hello Magnus" at the sound of the sudden voice his dark eyes moved and found a woman standing before him, it was no other than the Mother goddess in her spirit form.
"I heard you broke through your curse," Edwina said with a smirk, her golden eyes shining.

In a snap, before she could blink, Nicklaus was before her and she gasped, he grabbed her neck, eagerly choking the life out of her.
"You made a big mistake sending your soul here," Nicklaus said with a growl, if only this was her real body he would have gladly separated her head from her body, a most satisfying feeling he could ever feel.
She vanished from his hold and then appeared behind him. "As animalistic as you’re," she remarked
Nicklaus turned, the black veins covering his features, he was angry, his blood boiled in her presence, and he was itching for the kill. "Where is she?!" he demanded as the halls bood just by the sound of his demonic voice.
"I will not let you lay another finger on her" Elwina snapped at him, her angry eyes on him.
Nicklaus growled deeply, the re sound shocking the entire hall.
"I spent centuries trying to keep you away from her, I do not mind doing so for eternity" she spat, the anger evident in her tone.
"What have you done with her?!"
"I heard you plan to invade by Realm, you made a big mistake doing that and now you will pay", she took a step closer to him, staring at him eye to eye. Nicklaus’ patience was slipping.
"You will never see her again, she will never co to you again, as long as I deem so that will never happen again"
Nicklaus’ jaw tightened. "What have you done?!", trust this monstrosity of a woman to have sothing up her sleeve, she must have done sothing and he knew it.
"I will make sure to rember what happened, I will be sure of it, as you’re aware I’m the only one who knows what really happened 2 thousand years ago, the truth of my daughter’s death," she said with clenched teeth. "You may have thought you could keep it hidden from the world but not from !"
Nicklaus lost it but she vanished before he could fend out his anger, that very mont the thunder struck heavily although it didn’t an rain. Nicklaus stood still where he was like a wall, but his eyes trembled, what was she talking about? The truth? What is the truth? And then his fist clenched hard, due to his claws present, it drew blood.
Instantly the doors of the throne hall barge open as Mint rushed in.
"My liege, the Empress has returned!" he announced.
Nicklaus’ body went ridge, his eyes fell wide as he turned, and then in a blur, he vanished, in a snap, he was at the entrance of the palace sauntering to where Celeste and Alaric stood.
"Where is she?!" he demands, he felt like he might lose it if he didn’t see her.
Celeste turned to Nicklaus with sad eyes. "She...", she began with a gulp, not knowing how to put it but seeing Nicklaus and how ssed up he looked due to her absence she knew she had to say sothing. "She was here in her fox form but then suddenly she ran away I don’t-" before she could finish her words Nicklaus was gone in a blur.
Alaric was about moving but Celeste held his arm stopping him. "He’s the only one that can go to her"
"You don’t understand sister, sothing doesn’t feel right"
"Whatever do you an?"
"I saw it in her eyes" he faces Celeste. "I could feel it"
"What did you feel, Alaric?!"

I panted as I zapped through the forest, I was confused and my senses were in turmoil, what I just experienced seconds ago traumatizing , I couldn’t think straight. I ca to a halt close to a stream, I tried to catch my breath, I made sad fox noises, my body trembling, my heart slamming loudly in my chest.
MATE!
STOP IT! I snapped at my beast, there was sothing wrong and I knew it, the mate my Fox yarn for was not mine and my body was reacting to soone I didn’t have feelings for, how could it be? what happened to ? I shook my head trying to think and then my mind trailed to when I broke free of my mother’s spell when she was trying to crack my head.
☆☆☆
"I will not let you go back to that monster, never!" she yelled.
My furious fox eyes on her, burning, why? Why was she doing this to ? Why was she trying to always keep away from Nicklaus, why does she hate him so much.
"I do not mind cursing you again"
I froze at her words, my eyes shaking. "Even if it’s the last thing I do," she says with sad eyes.
☆☆☆
I gasped, before whimpering, I knew then she must have done sothing to , by using her life essence, I read books I know using a spell or curse in exchange for the caster’s life was sothing that can never be broken.
No!
"Yelena", my body stilled when I heard the overly familiar voice, with my teary eyes I turned, seeing Nicklaus as he looked down at with so much intensity, my heart broke, it broke apart to a point I couldn’t breathe, for I knew exactly the curse she laid to , The Curse Of Mismatch. I was lucky enough to read about it, being Mortal I thought it would be best if I read all about the spells and curses and other things that have to do with the magical Realm.
"Yelena," he said my na once again as he ca towards at a slow pace, I could see the sadness, the pain, the longing, and gods how much he misses all within his very orbs, I was the only one who could read him after all. But worse is that I didn’t react to it, I didn’t feel anything, I couldn’t feel the tingling sensation I always felt whenever he was around , I no longer felt love for him anymore, I no longer craved him, I no longer wanted him, my soul was shut away from his.
He leaned down to , one knee on the ground, I made whimpering sounds of sadness, why was this happening? Why can’t fate just leave us be? Why is this happening? Why?
He reached for and his hand caressed my fur. I didn’t even do anything, it was all gone, I no longer saw him, I no longer felt him, he was no longer my destined.
"Lena!"
"Nicklaus!"
At the voices my heart skipped a beat, my golden orbs t Alaric’s, and then the spark that was ant only for Nicklaus fell to him, the love I felt only for Nicklaus was registered to him, but my heart cannot bear it, my heart cannot accept it, for his sake for HIM the only choice I had was to go away. I wish to go away.
Suddenly as my wish ca through a portal opened behind , it ca from and I knew it, it must have answered my wishes about needing to go away.
I took one last long look at Nicklaus who didn’t leave gaze with mine, even for a second, I saw the confusion in his orbs. He must have felt I wasn’t drawn to him anymore, he must have felt how different things were now.
Goodbye Nicklaus. I was gone at the speed of lightning without looking back at the portal and I vanished.
This was the only way... to avoid my curse and for the only man, I will ever love.
