When she arrived at the hotel, Diamond spotted Lady Aumbrey waiting for her in the lobby.
Lady Aumbrey was dressed beautifully in an erald green gown and a black fur coat.
Seeing that fur coat, she was reminded that the other owed her a milky fur coat. Was she going to part with it or she was just pulling her leg?
"There you are, darling!" Lady Aumbrey called out with a smile, walking towards her as if they were friends who had known each other for centuries.
Diamond returned the smile. She couldn’t let the other down, could she?
"You look amazing!" Diamond praised as soon as the two of them were hugging.
And as they parted, Lady Aumbrey’s eyes sized her from head to toe with a smile before responding, "And so do you!"
Diamond really loved being complinted, so she bead at the other once she heard that.
"It’s nice seeing you again, you know?" Diamond sincerely said.
As soone eager to learn what kind of conspiracies the other had in store for her, it would be a lie if she were to say otherwise.
Lady Aumbrey laughed heartily as she led Diamond towards the elevator before answering, "The feeling is the sa. How was your day?"
"Oh, my day?! It went pretty well. Went to do so skating today!" she replied truthfully, her eyes sparkling as she recalled the fun she had during the day.
Lady Aumbrey smiled as she continued to walk forward. She had seen the whole broadcast, so she knew that Diamond wasn’t lying, though she wasn’t planning on letting her know.
The two talked about the day, especially the skating, until they reached the private room where they would be having dinner.
Once they were seated, Diamond looked around and, not finding Helen, she wondered where the daughter went.
Lady Aumbrey, seeing Diamond looking for her daughter, apologetically said, "Helen won’t be joining us tonight. She has an errand to run."
Diamond found it a pity when she heard that. It would have been nice seeing Helen changing face color shades whenever she said sothing.
She could tell that Helen didn’t particularly like her, though she wasn’t sure why the other felt that way.
It wasn’t like she owed them sothing, right?
"It’s a pity, but this is still fine!"
Lady Aumbrey smiled, agreeing to Diamond’s words on the surface while inwardly she was glad that her daughter wasn’t there. Having a one-on-one with Diamond would help her check closely what she ca here for in the first place.
With them settled, the food was ordered and while they waited for it to be delivered to them; they started talking.
Diamond put her handbag on top of the table as she said, "I brought you a gift. Yesterday you gave your favorite coat, so I wanted to return the favor!" taking out a gift bag from the bag.
Lady Aumbrey was quite curious about what Diamond would take out from her bag, and when she saw the small gift bag, she was a bit taken aback.
Could the return gift of the coat be compared to sothing this small?
However, there was one thing that the years had told her. Don’t judge the book by its cover. It was still too early to judge, so she waited patiently for Diamond to continue.
Diamond set her handbag down and concentrated on the gift on the table.
As she started taking out what was in the gift bag, she spoke, "There is the beauty cream in here. It’s very efficient, good for any skin type and ..." explaining what was what as she took them out.
Lady Aumbrey had co across news regarding this beauty cream on Diamond’s social dia accounts.
It was also because of it that she was here today. It was a good thing that she didn’t have to ask for it from her but got two bottles for free from her. With one bottle, her mission would be considered complete as well.
Inside the gift bag, Diamond also added sothing very special, sothing that she recently got from the system.
"This is a special cigarette which if you smoke you will be able to relieve pain. Just a few puffs will be enough. So, no need to finish it. There aren’t any addictive substances. Just pure dicine," she explained to the older ready as she gave her two from the twenty, she received.
Lady Aumbrey was a bit sceptic when she received that, but since it was a gift, she didn’t show it but accepted the gift with gratitude.
"Thank you. I will use it well!"
Diamond, seeing the other accepting her gifts, was happy.
’With the reciprocation done, she will give the coat she promised, right?’ she shalessly thought to herself as she bead at Lady Aumbrey.
Thankfully, Lady Aumbrey couldn’t read minds. So, she wasn’t aware of what Diamond was thinking about.
With the gifts given and accepted, food was delivered.
As they ate their food, the two ladies didn’t conserve the dinner etiquette at all but chatted rrily, getting to know each other more as they filled their bellies.
"So, what kind of work do you do back ho?" Lady Aumbrey curiously asked.
The information which she had was a bit vague, so she could get so of these answers from the horse’s mouth.
’It’s coming, finally!’ Diamond’s eyes sparkled when she heard that question being asked.
"! I am a jack of all trades. But I can firmly say that I am running a charity foundation, dabble in investing, sell farm produce, sell beauty products and am an online influencer," she responded as she stated the kind of business she had exposed online already.
As for what she hadn’t told others, there was no need for her to spill the beans.
Lady Aumbrey found the information to be exactly as the one she knew, but she had a feeling that Diamond was hiding sothing. However, it wasn’t appropriate to ask that.
"That’s good. For soone your age, you are doing well!"
"Hehe, I am proud of what I have achieved as well. You can’t imagine the pressure."
"It’s tough. We are also there."
"Indeed. So, what do you do as well?"
"I manage a family business. We are winemakers. Before you leave, I will give you a bottle!"
Diamond was shocked when she heard that. It was her first ti eting soone who was into that kind of business. Although she didn’t like drinking that much, it didn’t an that she didn’t like doing so.
There were plentiful wines at ho. She hadn’t started drinking, but the ones she drank were so good that she wanted to drink them again.
Even if she didn’t drink them, didn’t she have people who could drink them?
At the thought of getting another freebie, Diamond looked affectionately at the old lady.
If she doesn’t suck this old lady dry, then she wouldn’t need to be called by her na.
She was going to go all out.
