"My daughter will like you if she sees you!" Rita chuckled softly as she thought of her beautiful daughter.
Diamond grinned at Rita after hearing so much about her daughter. "I bet that we will. From what you have told , I can tell that she is a great person."
"She is and I am very proud of her!" Rita smilingly said, her eyes sparkling at the thought of her daughter.
Seeing that, Diamond couldn’t help but like Rita more. Parents who love their children were the people that she loved the most.
Parents must raise their children until they are old enough to take care of themselves. It was also their duty to make sure that the children grow up in the right direction.
As long as the parents give adequate love, care, and attention to their children, they will grow up well.
However, too much of everything could make the children delinquents and scum of society as well. So, a balance should be struck.
She was raised well, though a bit more spoiled. That spoiling thought made her brain malfunction in many ways that made her feel embarrassed whenever she thought of it.
She didn’t bla her parents for how she turned out when she was at university. After all, her delusional mind and greediness made her commit heinous deeds that nearly destroyed her.
Her parents never taught her that, and that was on her.
So, seeing a parent who loved her children so much while striking that balance, she loved Rita more.
"You should et!"
"Hmm, that will be a great idea. Maybe when she is free, she can drop by Frin or I will co to Ashford. I haven’t been to Ashford before," Diamond suggested as she looked gently at Rita.
Rita clapped her hands together upon hearing that.
"That is a great idea. We will keep on talking and see what we can do."
Diamond was happy about that. She didn’t mind travelling at all, as she would be seeing new places. She couldn’t be locked in one place. She wanted to travel and enjoy what life had brought for her.
The two talked about all sorts of topics until Rita breached a topic that Diamond enjoyed the most.
"So, Diamond, have you ever thought of settling down? At what age would you want to start your family?" Rita asked curiously.
Tis had changed greatly. It wasn’t that era where won were rushed and forced to marry as soon as they were of age.
So career-minded won got married in their late thirties and early forties.
She was married in her early twenties to her childhood sweetheart. So, to her, it didn’t matter when she got married, as the both of them knew each other their whole lives.
"I do believe in marriage, but I think that it’s not really for at this stage. I hate being tied down to a man, dedicate my whole life to him and all that. I want to pursue what I love, travel around the world, and earn more money," Diamond responded with a gentle smile on her face.
Rita, on the other hand, hearing that, was baffled. She wasn’t expecting to receive such a response at all and was wondering why she was like that.
"Once upon a ti, I believed in love. I wanted to love that person dearly, but all I received was heartbreak. I swore off love back then, though I am not sure what the future will hold for ."
Rita was stunned once again. She could tell that Diamond was a girl with a story, and it made her very curious.
However, Diamond had just started and Rita was in for a wild ride.
"Apart from my family, you are the only person that I am telling you this. It’s because I really like you and I want you to know better without any shield or covering."
"I got hurt by soone I loved, so I told myself that if I ever get into a relationship again, I won’t give my heart anymore. Those who love will surround . I will let them shower with love and I will receive it wholeheartedly," Diamond said with a sad smile on her face. "Do you think that I am selfish for doing that?"
Rita didn’t know what to say after hearing that. However, remaining silent wasn’t the answer. So, she rummaged for an answer and found one. "We all have reasons for everything that we do. As long as our conscious is clear, what’s there to fear?"
Diamond smiled brightly upon hearing that.
"That’s true. What’s there to fear indeed?" the more she repeated that statent, the more she loved it.
"So, by being surrounded by those that love you. What do you an, exactly?" Rita asked for clarity.
She didn’t want to guess and think far ahead and judge the little girl without getting the facts straight. So, her best bait was to understand Diamond first before she summarized what was going on for a better judgnt.
Diamond leaned back in her chair as she felt the heavenly replenishing divine art refining the energy in her body.
"Instead of being stuck to one guy, I am more ambitious," with a straight face, Diamond directly gave Rita an unexpected answer.
"Huh!" Rita felt as if her ears were blocked and weren’t working well.
Otherwise, why was she hearing sothing that sounded so absurd, especially from a woman’s point of view?
Diamond laughed softly upon seeing how shocked Rita was.
"I won’t marry one man if I ever get married in the future. I will have many boyfriends or husbands. I will beco the matriarch in my family. I will have them revolve around and not the way around." Diamond didn’t stop but explained further her dream, the one she had envisioned for years.
Rita was dumbstruck as she listened to Diamond excitedly talk about her future.
Appearances were indeed deceiving. Who would have guessed that hiding in the pretty little girl’s mind was sothing so explosive like that?
"You ..... you can’t be serious, right?" Rita asked with disbelief as she looked at the relaxed Diamond.
Diamond helplessly spread her hands with a smile on her face and answered, "Big sister, I never joke when it cos to my life."
"You ... won aren’t supposed to be like this!" Rita felt tired as she said that.
She didn’t know where Diamond got that idea, but it didn’t sound right. Where had she ever seen a woman with many husbands? That was frowned upon and if people were to know about her lifestyle, would everything that she had done be poured down the drain?
Diamond didn’t feel offended by being reprimanded like that by Rita. It was normal for her to act like that.
There weren’t a lot of ambitious won who wanted to walk on the path that she had chosen.
However, there were several hidden ladies out there with several lovers. Wasn’t that the sa as what she was trying to do?
Instead of hiding it like they were doing, she was going to be open about it and let the whole world witness how she would be pampered by n who love her.
"So, what if they aren’t like that? I am my own person and I will live the way that I want. I have the money, the looks, and the connections. So why should I tie myself to one man who can cheat on in the future?"
"But .... Not everyone is like that. You shouldn’t assu that all apples are bad just because of one rotten apple," Rita said persuasively to Diamond, hoping that she would be able to put so sense into her head.
But who was Diamond?
Just because they saw her being flamboyant like this today, they all thought that it was easy for her.
"I don’t really care about that, honestly. My mind is already set and I will follow the path that I have carved. And big sister, if you don’t like this side of , then I guess that our friendship wasn’t really ant to be." Diamond shrugged her shoulders helplessly as she said that.
Although she liked Rita, it wasn’t to the point of letting her dreams go just because she said so.
Besides, her parents were eagerly waiting for their sons-in-law, so why should a stranger who knew nothing about her interfere in her life?
"You .... I need to think clearly." In the end, that’s all Rita could say after seeing how adamant Diamond looked.
Diamond chuckled with disappointnt upon hearing that. Although she was expecting a response like that after she said her last statent, everything felt like a joke.
One mont they were getting along and the next, the room was filled with awkwardness and alienation.
"That’s okay with , and don’t force yourself. People, we are different after all," Diamond said as she straightened her body so that she was seated properly.
Rita, hearing Diamond’s tone, could tell that there was no room for negotiation.
Diamond was the type of person who wouldn’t compromise or take a step backwards to give way to another person.
Once she made up her mind, it was set for life. However, in her point of view, her path looked crooked, and she needed to be advised so that she would beco normal.
However, now wasn’t the right ti to do that, as the mood had already been spoiled. Maybe the next ti they t, she would be able to sit down and convince her.
But before doing that, Rita needed ti for herself to digest the shocking revelation she had received.
There was no way she would want her daughter to be like Diamond in terms of dating life.
What would everyone say if they were to know about it?
