Chapter 76: Chapter 76 The Prevalence of Bad Habits_1
“I thought the injection would take effect imdiately, but it seems it needs a bit of digestion,”
Colin wasn’t too troubled by it; after all, three hours wasn’t an unbearable wait. He looked at his remaining balance of just over ten thousand and seven hundred Points.
With so many Points, he was sowhat at a loss about how to spend them.
“Should I give Li Ming and Tang Ken an F Level Gene Compensation dicine Liquid each? They did quite well acting as tools this ti around. Li Ming assisted
in taking down the Virtue Knight, and Tang Ken later helped stabilize the refugees, which was a big help, although all this crap started because we went to find them…”
Colin thought about it and then shook his head secretly: “Forget it, no rush. It looks like they have G Level temporary permissions and probably don’t even have access to functions like the ‘Interaction Hall’.”
“Even if I bought it for them, they might not be able to use it, and I also don’t know what rewards they got from this mission…”
However, after experiencing the incident together and returning to reality, he found his perception of the two had strengthened. He could roughly sense their Status and was confident he could pull them into the office anyti, just like before.
I’ll wait a bit, pull them into the office, and find an opportunity to understand more.
As for the third Employee, Lin Yilan… there was no sense of her at all—
Could she have actually died in the incident?
“That doesn’t seem quite right either. If she had died, I should’ve been able to sense her death location when I was in World No. 13, just like I could find Tang Ken after he died.”
Colin sat on the edge of the bed, leaning against the headboard, and furrowed his brows.
He rembered that Lin Yilan had initially successfully descended in World No. 13, but the signal was quickly lost and never appeared again; nor did she revive later.
He didn’t know what had happened at that ti.
After pondering for a mont, Colin guessed two possibilities. One was that she had bad luck in the Other World, encountering sothing that not even a “Reset” could save her from. He couldn’t guess exactly what it was but felt that it was a possibility.
The second, which he thought was more likely, was that Lin Yilan had issues with her physical body in reality. After all, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, known as the king of cancers, and her condition was the worst among the three. During the crossing, her fatal illness could have erupted, leading to her direct death.
And Lady Bunny’s offer of three revivals only applied to the Other World, not to reality.
“I’m not sure of the specifics, but both of these guesses involve death. Next ti I encounter Lady Bunny, there’s a good chance I’ll be picking a new person.”
Colin pursed his lips slightly, and even though he couldn’t directly contact Lady Bunny, he had a feeling she would be in touch with him before long.
For now, she was probably still presiding over the war in “World Code-No. 13.”
“Right, it seems this mission hasn’t settled the loot from that ‘Virtue Knight’ monster. I’ll have to ask Lady Bunny about it.”
Colin greatly valued the “invisibility” gadget that could potentially reduce his presence.
If he could continuously lower his presence like that monster did and combine it with his “Ti Stasis,” it would be a killer move!
If the enemy wasn’t at the level of an Evil God, just “invisibly” closing in and striking with a Bone Spur right in the enemy’s flanks.
There probably weren’t many who could withstand such a combo…
“Sigh, I hope the fight ends soon and the equipnt gets distributed…”
Colin exhaled and stopped thinking deeply. He unfolded the parchnt, opened the “Interaction Hall,” and planned to catch up on any major events that might have occurred over the past several days and also see if there were any new equipnt recomndations.
But when he opened the forum, he didn’t find any new posts surging up. His own post for selling equipnt hadn’t received any fresh replies either—it was all the sa old content. Everything seed no different from when he arrived seven days ago…
Uh…
Colin was stunned, then he couldn’t help but laugh wryly, “How could I forget again? Although it’s been seven days from my perspective, only three hours have passed on Earth.”
Next, he opened a chat room he often visited to see what kind of nonsense his colleagues were up to. But as soon as he got in, the chat he saw made everything go dark before his eyes.
“Two-Faced”: Sigh, if nothing unexpected happened, Shunzi has been missing from Sunday until today. He’s probably dead by now.
“Confused Cutie ①Sob Sob⑦”: How would you know?
“Unnad 114514”: @Confused Cutie ①Sob Sob⑦, if you want to know, I can tell you, but I’d suggest we discuss this privately…
“Lifecoach Kawaii-many”: What he said is quite true. The information on Ascension tasks is scarce, but there are so records. They happen once a week. Judging by the ti Shunzi first appeared, the latest he should have had his second Ascension task was yesterday, Sunday. Look, he hasn’t spoken at all since yesterday, but he used to pop up every day before then.
“Heavenly Dumpling”: Here’s to our passed Golden Card—oh, I an, brother Shunzi…
“The Unyielding”: It’s over, please don’t die, Shunzi! What am I going to do without you? Now I can only be trapped in the hospital’s 18th floor until death, boo-hoo-hoo…
“Confused Cutie ①Sob Sob⑦”: Speaking of which, big boss Cute Duo, @Lifecoach Kawaii-many, if Shunzi is dead now, will his equipnt be retracted or drop straight into the Other World?
“Lifecoach Kawaii-many”: Not sure. From the intel I’ve gathered, equipnt below blue grade will be lost, but I’ve heard that starting from purple grade, unless it is taken by soone else, it seems to be retrieved after about ten minutes or so following death, with higher grades being retrieved more quickly.
“Your Pompadour is Huge”: Dude, is your source reliable?
“Lifecoach Kawaii-many”: Very likely! Confident.jpg.
“Fish Pond Master”: Holy shit, guys, if you have lottery tickets, hurry and draw! For Golden Card orange equipnt, do you dare to own one? I’ll start bidding at one hundred million dollars, not enough? Let’s negotiate!
“White Cute Cuddle”: Hahaha, guys, ti for the draw! I’ve been working my butt off for two and a half years and saved up six boxes—let’s start drawing!
“Anonymous1999”: I don’t care about Golden Cards, I want that “Revolver Contrarian”—just the na sounds so cool!
“The Unyielding”: @Unnad123456, I haven’t used my lottery ticket from the last mission yet. Shunzi, if you can hear
from heaven, please bless
to hit the jackpot!
“Lifecoach Kawaii-many”: Hurry up, hurry up! I’m already prepared to be showed off on. If you draw this ti, rember to send
the details of the equipnt privately, so I can see what’s different about the Golden Card orange equipnt.
…
“Hiss, you guys are really… Are you all not even a bit concerned about my well-being?”
Colin was sowhat speechless as he read. He had only been gone for a day or two, and already there were rumors of his death.
They were all fixated on the two pieces of equipnt he had…
Colin could almost feel his colleagues’ excitent through the parchnt.
However…
Seeing how eagerly they jumped to conclusions and cursed him to die, he had to put a stop to this unsavory trend.
After so thought, he typed a ssage in a format familiar to his colleagues, a surefire way to amuse them, and sent it to the chat room.
