Chapter 751: Chapter 536 Terror Strikes!_1
Psychiatric Ward Building No.3 was located towards the back of the entire hospital.
Feeling so indescribable threat, Colin didn’t proceed as he had earlier, forcefully flying across. Instead, he tried to minimize the irritants to this sinister place and followed the floor markings.
‘Could there be sothing deep inside the hospital that’s becoming aware?’ he wondered.
Colin tried to interpret that ominous threat.
He didn’t feel particularly scared, but since his mission was not yet complete, it wasn’t ti to show his hand.
If the situation escalated prematurely, there was a high likelihood that the mission would be jeopardized…
Along the way, aside from the sound of their footsteps and the occasional conversation, there were constant, lingering cries.
The source of these voices couldn’t be pinpointed, as if they ca out of thin air, and inexplicably sent shivers down one’s spine.
“Hiss…”
Orange Cat, walking beside Colin, hugged its arms and looked around the desolate, oppressive space:
“Who the hell created this ghastly place, and for what purpose is it so eerie…”
‘Who made it? You’d likely have to ask Bonfire Company about that,’ Colin thought, but didn’t voice it aloud. Instead, he continued forward, one hand holding onto the “Psychotic” madman and leading the small team.
The dangers on the fourth level weren’t too problematic if one knew how to handle them.
Had it not been for the concern of attracting the attention of sothing much more dangerous, he would have already gone solo on a rampage here.
“Gurgle, gurgle…”
The sound of a tal door sliding open suddenly ca from not far behind them.
“Hiss…” Two employees instantly felt a chill in their hearts and instinctively grasped the weapons in their hands, ready for action.
A nauseating stench of rot slowly wafted from the ajar door…
Yet aside from that, the door was only slightly open, with no creature in sight.
Ashen Holy Body glanced at the lettering on the door that read “Ergency Resuscitation Room”: “It might be one of those cases where a corpse from the resuscitation room becos animated…”
He quickly briefed the team on the situation, which was that, starting on this level, so mysterious corpses might be present in certain wards, including the “Ergency Rooms”.
Once soone passed nearby, there was a chance these creatures would follow…
But they just followed; they wouldn’t do anything else.
“You make it sound like so sort of toad…” Colin muttered.
“Yes, pretty much, but as far as I rember, they are not a threat…” Ashen Holy Body had only gotten halfway through his sentence
when Orange Cat seed to rember sothing and promptly cut him off:
“They are a threat! I rember now, their corresponding locations are similar to those windows that lit up when we first entered on the first level. If you can recall those, we can avoid them…”
“Also, they don’t just follow; they will attack.”
“If anyone in our group becos unconscious, that’s when you’ll see them make their move…”
“So, the trigger for their attacks is soone falling into unconsciousness or sothing similar?” Ashen Holy Body caught on to the key point.
“Right…”
“Wait, that patient Brother Shunzi is dragging…” Ashen Holy Body glanced at the person in Brother Shunzi’s hands.
Orange Cat was taken aback, recalling that the man was currently unconscious. Hesitantly guessing, it said:
“Perhaps it’s because he’s a hospital patient, considered one of their own?”
“Perhaps, but it’s not important…”
Colin ended the conjecture, feeling through Bonfire that behind that tal sliding door, amidst the dense stink, twisted figures seed to be peering at them from the shadows.
From the darkness, the sticky sound of a dense liquid, perhaps blood or so other thick fluid, hitting the floor could be heard.
In his perception, those shadowy figures certainly seed to be only secretly observing them, showing no interest in the “Psychotic” in Colin’s hand.
‘However, speaking of it, if unconsciousness triggers an attack, does sleeping count?’ Colin couldn’t help but wonder if those creatures would co for them when they ventured deeper into the hospital.
If there was a risk, they would need to deal with it.
“Can we kill them?” he asked.
Orange Cat shook its head: “No use, they can’t be destroyed. Even if we kill them, they’ll reappear from where they ca and continue their pursuit until the person wakes up or is completely dead…”
While the two were exchanging thoughts, Colin also noticed another key detail in the dialogue: “Are you saying, after being killed, they will erge again from the sa place?”
“Yes…”
“Then there should be a way to deal with them.”
Colin thought for a mont, took out a piece of Third Level Containnt Subject turned into new energy carbon from his pocket, and casually threw it into the tal door.
“Boom!” In a vibration, the room was montarily engulfed in flas.
“Ahhh!!” The heart-wrenching screams rose but ceased within seconds.
“This fire will last quite a while. If they only resurrect from their original location, then this should resolve this issue… Let’s move. If you see anything problematic along the way, let
know.” After finishing his sentence, Colin resud his march, not wasting another second on these creatures.
“Wow, that’s so assertive action…”
Seeing Brother Shunzi’s tactic, both were clearly taken aback—
What they had been contemplating was how to avoid confrontation, yet Brother Shunzi had simply blocked the spawning points and eliminated them. This was a path they had never considered.
After a mont of reflecting on how the mindset of the powerful differed from their own, they hurried to catch up.
After about ten more minutes of trek, Colin had blocked off several wards, departnts, and even buildings, until at last, they saw the psychiatric ward buildings located further back.
From here on, the once distant and ethereal cries beca more “real”.
