"Wait, what?" Alia was stunned when she heard the question and looked at her two friends. Thinking about the magic beasts outside that they saw before, she froze in fear. "You're kidding, right?"
The two of them looked at Alia with the look that said they were not joking.
Even though Ruby didn't know how strong the magic beasts outside were, she knew that the one with the highest chance to defeat them among them was only Alia.
She had practiced so skills from her brother and her skills seed to be quite decent too.
"No, do you have any weapon?" Ruby asked.
"Weapon?" Alia frowned and then went to her room. She took out a sword, it was a bit short and light but it was still a sword. "My brother customized this for and asked to bring it with wherever I go. I never thought that there'll be a day where I truly need one."
When her brother said that he wanted to customize weapon for them, Alia thought that he was joking. When he asked their preferences and so on, Alia still answered them.
And when the weapon finally arrived…
Alia felt that her brother had gone crazy.
Her parents and younger brother all told her that she would need it and thus asked her to bring it with her. While Alia didn't understand, she didn't dare not to do it under the gaze of her family, so she bring it to her dormitory.
Who would have though that she would really need this now?
Alia felt really complicated.
"It's a real sword?" Ruby was stunned.
She looked at Alia strangely, wondering what the hell did the Jones Family do to make their own children carry weapon with them all around?
Was the Jones Family so dangerous?
"Yes," Alia replied and then pursed her lips. "I just got it recently but I can't say that I'm really good at it."
"It's enough," Riya said.
If Alia were to go bare handed, then Riya would truly be worried for Alia. But since Alia had a sword and Samuel himself was also a swordsman, Riya felt more relieved. At the very least, they have so ans to protect themselves.
"Yes."
"Let's eat sothing and then pack up lightly. We'll make our way to your place, Alia," Riya said.
The best and safest place for them to stay was naturally in Samuel's place. Riya was not sure about Samuel's ranking but he should be a rank 3 magic warrior at the very least. After all, he ca back earlier than her based on what Alia said and he had his own ans of fighting with his swords and all.
Staying beside him, Alia and Ruby should be safe.
"But that place is so far away." Alia was now worried.
Her residence was a bit far and if they were to walk there, it would take a long ti. Her own physical condition had improved and Riya seed to be fine, but how about Ruby?
From what she knew, Ruby has always stayed holed up in the laboratory and rarely had ti for anything else.
"We can move in to other places along the way as we slowly made our way to your place." Riya thought for a mont and then asked, "Or do you want to stay here and wait for them to co and save you?"
Wait and do nothing?
Alia actually preferred that because she was afraid but at the sa ti, she also knew that it might take a long ti for her brother to have enough ti to pick her up.
Rather than staying here and do nothing, it would be better for her to take the initiative to go.
"Then, try first." Alia gritted her teeth. "If I can't even defeat one magic beast, there's no point for us to go out and seek death?"
"It's good."
Both Ruby and Riya agreed. They knew that the best way for them to get out was if they were able to deal with these magic beasts. Since Riya had no plan to do it on the surface, she had to hand over this job to Alia.
Now that Alia was determined to try, they could do it.
The three of them quickly ate sothing and packed up their belongings. They didn't bring much and after so efforts, they managed to reach the first floor.
Seeing the destruction around them, Alia felt sick.
"Are there no other people?" Ruby asked and took out a helt that she found on the side to wear. At the very least she had to figure out how to protect herself while her friend tried to deal with that magic beast.
"There are a few other people around," Riya said and looked at the few other buildings that were intact. Because of her heightened senses, she knew that there were so people there, but they didn't dare to co out.
So of them peeked out when they heard noises, but they had no plan to go out at all.
They were afraid.
Aside from them, Riya lowered her head and looked at the grounds around her. Many people had died here, both from the earthquake and the magic beasts.
'I should pay a visit to the crack and try to find another one again later at night.'
Riya knew very well that while she had no obligation to help these people, she couldn't really leave them be. The experience in that magical world had allowed her to see various immoral and inhumane acts that made people felt cold.
It was to the point that trust was truly rare.
And this world had only started to experience this disaster.
Right now, Riya wished that they wouldn't fall into despairs.
At the sa ti, she also wanted to collect these magic beasts's corpses into her own space.
They were useful.
Thinking about this way, Riya cald down again.
She couldn't care about everyone in the world and would not start doing it. She has never been a saint.
