The world was vast.

But Ruth couldn't really find many reasons for her to go on.

Sotis, even the childish reason could keep people going on and at this mont, Ruth had already lost her goals and felt at loss.

She didn't know what to do.

All she could think of was to prevent the Green Planet from suffering from the sa fate as Afirer Kingdom. Even though Ruth didn't know whether her ager strength would be needed, she was still willing to work hard and try her best to make sure that she could do sothing.

Just because she's one of the returnees.

To be honest, Ruth had never thought of herself as soone important before.

This was not self depreciation because Ruth's life before she was selected to beco one of the returnees was truly ordinary. So ordinary that Ruth couldn't imagine herself becoming soone so important that her every action could decide the lives of countless people.

So Ruth was at loss in the beginning.

Because she didn't know what she should do.

The realization that her position was so important made Ruth confused because she was clearly never expected that her life trajectory would change so much in such a short period of ti.

When the people from Continent Z ca to look for her with the attitude of negotiation, Ruth almost couldn't comprehend any of their words.

Logically speaking, she could understand what they were saying.

There was no language barrier.

But putting those words together… Ruth felt that such a thing shouldn't have happened to her in the first place.

"I really don't know whether my skills can help, but I'll try," Ruth said after finally digesting the realization that being a returnee was actually sothing very important. Not just important, the skills as an archer main profession magic warrior was actually one of the kind.

Because no other returnee chose the sa profession as her.

Even if there were other magic warriors, they didn't choose bow and arrow as their main weapon, making Ruth unique.

…In a way, all of them were actually unique.

Ruth was truly troubled in the beginning.

The main reason why she chose this profession in the beginning was because she was influenced by the people she t after she ca to Afirer Kingdom. Living in the forest and was also fascinated by the hunters, she asked them to teach her.

The villagers were also kind enough to let Ruth learn and also taught so fundantal skills for her to beco a magic warrior.

When her skills reached a certain point, they helped her to get out and explore the wide world.

That's how Ruth gained more experience and also beco more famous.

She enjoyed that freedom.

But once a year, she would go back to the village and share her adventure with the villagers there. It was an ordinary and simple life, but it was sothing that Ruth cherished very much.

Because for her, those villagers had already beco part of her family mbers.

Dying during the grand magic beasts tide when she was in Afirer Kingdom was actually nothing much.

Ruth had accepted her death.

But she didn't die.

She ca back to the Green Planet, her ho planet and should have been the place that she cherished the most. But as her status rise and she was allowed to see more of the higher ups' situation that she never knew before…

Ruth felt great resistance from deep within herself that she never realized before.

It was as if working hard for the sake of the people on the Green Planet had beco a burden on Ruth's shoulder.

Their expectation, their wishes, and their demands…

All beco shackles and pressure that made it difficult for Ruth to take another step forward and move on.

She's always alone.

For years after coming back to the Green Planet, experiencing the Afirer Kingdom for three years, and coming back, Ruth has always been alone.

She had no one to confide on and no one to fully trust.

And after such a long period of ti, what Ruth felt was nothing more than exhaustion.

At the end, it all ca to one question.

Why her?

She was just an ordinary person before the world changed and in order to survive, Ruth had to take on the past profession. When there were people who ca to her to ask for help, she still helped them just because she could.

She wanted to help.

And Ruth herself didn't know why, but she liked doing it.

But when she was given the pressure and the expectation beco greater and greater, her spirits finally couldn't take it.

She used to be an ordinary person who lived just for herself.

Now, she had to care for so many people…

Ruth couldn't take it.

"I did it for myself, Jonas Nolan," Ruth said calmly as she turned her head to look at the young man in front of her.

If he was not wrong, Jonas Nolan should be the youngest among the 12 returnees.

He's also one of the few who ca from rich and influential family, living a pampered and privileged life.

To be honest, he should have a good life if he hadn't been chosen to be one of the returnees.

But Ruth only thought that way for a mont before putting all of those thoughts away.

"That…" Jonas Nolan looked at Ruth and felt sowhat at loss.

He didn't want her to die.

But when he looked at Ruth's expression, Jonas Nolan found it impossible for him to speak.

"Don't be so sad." Ruth gave a reassuring smile. "I made the decision myself and no one pressured … It's just, I…" I don't really have the interest to see the future world either.

The Green Planet didn't have that much aning for Ruth.

It might sound cold blooded, but that was what Ruth thought from deep within her heart.

Just when she was about to speak, Ruth felt her words were stuck in her throat.
