Alia was looking at the people who were busy in front of her with a dazed look.
The passage was closed yesterday, but she felt as if it had just happened not long ago, which diluted her joy of reaching rank 7.
She should have been happy.
But instead of happy, Alia was simply sitting on the verandah of the Jones Family's Residence with her hand holding the necklace that Riya had prepared for them.

The good things is that those real high ranked magicians were all people with good self awareness aside from the few returnees.
After all, the governnt basically invested most resources on the soldiers who could help them to defend against the magic beasts. They were also the most talented ones and everyone had passed the screening before being selected.

"It's cold!" Alia jumped back and glared at Arnold, who had co to her back with a can of juice in his hand at so point of ti. He pressed the cold can of juice on Alia's cheek, letting the cold startle her.
Arnold smiled. "This is the new type of juice that the research institute made. Try it?"
Alia looked at the bottle and saw that it was indeed a new brand that she had never known before.
Then again, there were a lot of new brands rising in the past few years after the destruction of the old society.
"Okay." Alia pursed her lips and took the can before she looked at Arnold up and down. She could see that there was a huge black circles around his eyes, indicating that Arnold hadn't actually rested properly.
For them who were fighting on the back, they were basically working in three shifts, so everyone were only responsible to fight every eight hours. This would guarantee that they could replenish their strength in ti and would not have to fight to their death.
It was a humane system.
But this could only be given to those who supported from the back while the returnees have to fight 24 hours a day.
They have no break whatsoever.
And it was because they have the ability to fight that they were given the position to fight on the frontline like this.
"…What did the people from the research institute made every day?" Alia couldn't help complaining after she tasted the juice. It felt quite good, but she didn't understand why they would even compete jobs with the businessn.
"You have to ask your friend for this." Arnold had no idea about it and he sat beside Alia, looking at the people walking back and forth on the street.
At this mont, Arnold was relieved that he had no work to do.
Otherwise, it would have been impossible for him to be able to stay here and accompany Alia.
