This is the first ti in her entire life that Ruth was forced to fight without the slightest bit of rest.
The previous magic beasts' tide on the Green Planet will still give them a break.
But this passage didn't.
Whenever more large rank 9 tallic magic tigers or other rank 9 magic beasts ca out, what awaited Ruth would be nothing more than a brutal battle. Not only the large rank 9 tallic magic tiger, there were also rank 9 flaming magic horse that appeared even more often.
What Ruth noticed is the fact that the dark and light elent didn't appear here.
They might have been attracted by Pena in Continent X because he was of dark elent.
After all, Ruth had heard from the general about the opponent they faced during the short few minutes break before more rank 9 flaming magic horse coming out of the passage.
"Miss Ruth, please rest for the ti being. The order is to let the nuclear weapon be used temporarily. Moreover, there are so more potions that Mr. Jonas Nolan have prepared for you."
"Ah… Thank you."
Receiving the space storage scroll, Ruth checked the content and pursed her lips. In the past two months, her rapid consumption of potions had beco common knowledge. Even though the potion was building up resistance in her body, Ruth had no other option but to continue drinking one potion after another.
Because ruth knew very well that if she ever stopped, she would lose the battle in front of her.
This is sothing that Ruth could not allow to happen in the slightest bit.
She had to fight.
Again and again.
Even if her main reason is simply because she didn't want to see people dying in front of her when she had the ability to save them.
But…
Even with Ruth at the forefront, the continuous battle for over two months had exhausted Ruth's spirits. Not to ntion, her body was really unable to hold on any longer and whoever made this arrangent for them was truly cruel.
Everyone was forced to the brink of collapse.
Even if they hadn't collapsed yet…
Who knew when they would suddenly collapse out of exhaustion?
Be it their ntal state or their physical state, they were clearly not in the condition to continue fighting.
But none of them were willing to back down simply because they couldn't afford the consequences of backing down.
Were they willing to let the world be destroyed?
BOOOOM!
After the first bomb, they launched the second one not long afterwards as more and more magic beasts poured in from the passage. Seeing these rank 9 flaming magic horses were still alive even after being hit by the nuclear weapon, Ruth's expression was not very good.
The nuclear has been modified to add the elental power that belonged to the magicians.
But it's not enough.
"They're too powerful," Ruth muttered in a low voice. "With just one move, they're capable of destroying cities and the modified nuclear weapons are barely able to hold them back."
"If one is not enough, then we'll fire more," the general replied as he continued to give order for more nuclear weapons to be fired.
They have stocked up a large number of ammunition just for this grand magic beasts' tide.
Even if they couldn't stop the magic beasts, at the very least, let them try and injure these rank 9 flaming magic horse as much as possible.
In this way, the burden on the returnees would be lesser.
BOOOM!
Ruth watched as explosion fell one after another.
She saw the rank 9 flaming magic horse failed to defend after a few tis and the few other rank 9 flaming magic horses that ca out of the passage also died one after another.
Is it successful?
But…
"How many tis can you launch such indiscriminate attack?" Ruth asked in a low voice.
The general didn't answer.
They all knew very well that the ammunition in their hands were actually limited. The earthquake back then had destroyed many things and even if they had restarted the production of these weapons and so on, the past two months have exhausted their ammunition.
Otherwise, the general would not approve the plan of using the nuclear weapon to deal with the magic beasts like this.
Ruth looked at the general's expression and could guess more or less.
She smiled bitterly.
"Is this really the end for the Green Planet?"
After Afirer Kingdom, is she going to lose her ho once again?
Even though Afirer Kingdom is not exactly her ho, but Ruth had long treated Afirer Kingdom as one because of her experience in that world.
It's her second ho.
And it's also the place where she could relax and laugh along with many other people.
But the Green Planet is also her ho.
There might not be any of her close family mbers who were still alive, but she had t with many other important people along the way.
Or perhaps, she was just too kind to ignore what had been happing on Continent W.
She owed them nothing.
And they owed her nothing.
But…
She just wanted to do this.
"Continent W has never been a continent that produced a lot of ammunition and the large scale war have already taken the toll for you." Ruth looked at the potion in her hand and then smiled. "General, can I have one last request?"
"Ms. Ruth, you…"
"I know that this would not solve the problem and the Green Planet might still end up being destroyed in the end, but I hope… that I don't have to see them anymore."
It's so tiring and frustrating.
Countless negative emotions welled up within Ruth's heart the more she had to fight these magic beasts.
They were so powerful…
And their number was basically endless.
She had no idea whether the war could be stopped in this way, but if risking her life could stop them from coming through this passage… Then she would gladly offer it.
