Zephyr ignored the glare he was receiving. Slowly, turning around, he looked up at the sky.

Corvinus, who flew up, was swiftly moving his staff around, weaving so kind of magical field around him. Then, like a cannon, he launched a high-powered jet of fire at the godspawn.

Below, on the ground, Zolt and the rest of the mages watched everything closely.

"Thump"

With a thunderous roar, an explosive fla pillar flew horizontally and collided.

The godspawn, for the first ti, released a shrill cry and reeled back. The instant the fla pillar collided with its body, it created a water shield to block it.

Therefore, the damage it suffered was minimal.

Behind the fla pillar, Corvinus smiled.

Zephyr nodded understandingly. The old man was poking around and testing out the limits of the godspawn. The fla pillar was far from the strongest spell he could use.

Before Zephyr could think about what his next move would be, Corvinus flew towards the giant Immortal Jelly. Behind him, the wind swirled to form a tornado.

Like a sweeping net, it took over the skies, preventing the godspawn from moving.

Occasionally, runic symbols, giant arrays, and a combination of spells materialised inside the spell, locking and turning part of the sky into an unbreakable prison.

The godspawn tried to resist, but couldn’t. Its giant body felt the crushing weight from all around it, preventing it from moving.

"Arrrrr."

It scread again and tried to use water to block it. But the spells Corvinus cast were not attack-oriented.

There was nothing to block.

The crushing pressure around it increased.

Monts later, the entire array crunched inwards before blasting off into the direction of the mainland, carrying the godspawn with it.

’Hm...a baby godspawn doesn’t have the combat experience to resist that...I see...’

Zephyr thought watching Corvinus fly towards the godspawn.

anwhile, Zolt also rose into the air, following them from behind.

As Zephyr suggested, they were going to fight it from the land. And it was going to happen far away from him.

Zephyr took a deep breath.

’That’s good.’ He thought even as the exhaustion from the previous battle drilled into his body.

"I don’t have to stick around here anymore." He muttered and decided to leave.

Whatever was going to happen next was beyond his control. He had no thought of participating in it. He had done his best and needed ti to rest.

’This ti, I lived. I wasn’t captured, nor was I brought away to be turned into a chira. That’s good.’

’At the sa ti, I seed to have screwed up the plan of the necromancer and his master. With Corvinus and Zolt here, the baby godspawn wouldn’t escape. So, it’s safe to assu, I screwed them over big ti.’

’Ah...it feels so nice...’

’Other than Jack being captured and a few villagers dying, the rest turned out great.’

He thought and turned to look at the altar one last ti.

There, he could see the dead body of the necromancer lying on the ground. The man bragged about destroying the kingdom, but in the end, he died like a dog.

The person who seed to have promised him power used and discarded him the mont he tried to go against the plan.

’A friggin loser.’ He comnted with a hint of disgust. ’If you wanted revenge for the injustice you have suffered, you should have taken it by your own hand.’

Gazing at his body with disapproval, Zephyr turned around.

If the world lacked a system to give justice or if it failed to provide justice, there was no problem with taking revenge. But to do so in this manner was shaful from his perspective.

’If you want soone dead, go kill them. Why take the life of the innocent?’ He shook his head and walked silently towards the temple bridge.

However, just as he took a few steps in the direction, two n flew over from the side of the disk-shaped aircraft and landed in front.

Zephyr raised his head to look at them.

He tilted his head.

"Where are you leaving? You have to provide a reasonable explanation as to what happened here." One of the n said.

The man was wearing a navy blue robe with intricate embroidery. On his chest, Zephyr could see a badge showing his rank as a 4-star interdiate mage.

He was the sa rank, but of a lower rating than the necromancer who just died.

’Do I know this guy?’ Zephyr tried to recall.

From the way the man was acting, he seed to be an acquaintance. But no matter how hard he tried, Zephyr couldn’t rember anything about the person.

It was as if his brain resisted any thoughts that delved into those mories. Other than feeling a sense of disgust and apprehension, he couldn’t recall anything at all.

’Hm...that is odd. And now that I think about it, I don’t rember in detail the ti I spent in the tower. Was it truly that terrible? Is my brain preventing from accessing those mories to stop from reliving that trauma?’

It was the first ti Zephyr experienced a gap in his mory. Usually, everything would have co to him the mont he saw sothing familiar.

’Damn it...I don’t need anybody’s protection. Give information, brain. I can handle a bit of trauma.’ He complained.

However, the mories didn’t return.

"Sigh."

Zephyr took a deep breath.

’Then, don’t give . It’s not as if I care.’

What happened to the original Zephyr was not his problem.

"Hey, why are you avoiding our eyes? Do you think avoiding us would get you out of this ss?"

The man laughed.

The mage standing next to him was of a similar rating. He also laughed.

"A rat would always be a rat. Look at him, covered in mud and gri. He stinks."

The other mage added.

"Should we wash him before questioning?"

The mages nodded.

"That seems appropriate."

Then, one of them raised his hand, creating a water ball.

Zephyr realised what was happening and smiled.

He had a hard ti adapting to kindness. Usually, he freezes when people are kind to him.

However, the exact opposite happens when he is being mistreated.

Zephyr’s smile turned to a smirk.
