263: Chapter 264: I Can’t Even Handle an Egg…
“Miss…” the butler faltered.
“Mommy’s in the kitchen!” the little guy revealed the answer, “She won’t let us in.”
No sooner had his words fallen than a muffled ‘bang’ ca from the kitchen, causing all the faces to turn toward the door in unison, worriedly calling out.
“Mommy!”
“Miss!”
“Don’t co in!” Inside, Gan Yuan’s shouting voice ca through, “Whoever dares to co in, I’ll swat them out…
I just don’t believe it…”
Everyone could only stand back in place, and Gan Tang just shrugged her shoulders.
“It looks like we can forget about breakfast today!”
Huangfu Jue, of course, would not mind her antics, worried in his heart, he raised his hand to part the crowd, and in three steps made two, rushing over to push open the kitchen door.
Upon opening the door, instantly a peculiar sll hit him in the face, the scent faintly a mixture of cooking fus, a bit of the burning sll of sothing foreign…
and so other indescribable weird odors.
The entire kitchen was engulfed in black smoke, by the stove, Gan Tang was gritting her teeth as she threw the spatula down on the countertop.
“I just don’t believe it…
not even a single egg can defeat …”
After washing the pan and placing it on the stove, she grabbed the oil bottle and started pouring it in.
Hiss!
There was water in the pan, and the mont it t the oil, it exploded outwards.
“Ah!”
She cried out, jumping back in a panic, using her hand to shield her face.
Seeing this, Huangfu Jue imdiately strode over and turned off the fla.
“Don’t move!” As Gan Yuan saw soone rushing over, she imdiately lowered her arm and shouted angrily, “Who allowed you to co in… Huangfu Jue?”
Seeing that it was him, she paused for a mont, then rushed over, using her body to block the counter, and quietly supported the plate on it.
“You…
you’re up, why didn’t you sleep a bit longer…
hehe!
Morning!”
“Did you get burned?” The man supported her shoulders, frowning as he examined her face.
She imdiately shook her head.
He let out a quiet sigh of relief and noticed a bit of grease on her face.
He imdiately grabbed a paper towel and carefully wiped it clean for her, then casually pulled off the bits of eggshell stuck in her hair.
“Co out with .”
Her hands hidden behind her back, “You…
I’ll go out first, I’ll be right there.”
Noticing her movents, Huangfu Jue narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
“What’s wrong with your hand?”
“It’s nothing.”
“Let see!”
“Really, it’s nothing!”
He reached out and grabbed her arm.
Gan Yuan’s body swayed, and sothing from the plate she was holding flew out, hitting the ground with a smack.
The man glanced sideways and saw a charred object on the floor.
It took him a mont to realize it was a burnt egg— an egg fried to a brownish-black.
She… she was making breakfast for him?!
Gan Yuan’s face turned red all of a sudden.
A woman always proud, excelling in every direction, yet she was the only one not skilled in cooking.
She had dragged herself up early, tired, just wanting to make him a breakfast.
And yet, she nearly turned the kitchen into a World War II battlefield but could only fry an egg like this, truly embarrassing!
“I told you to wait a bit before coming out!” she exclaid annoyed, “What are you doing?!”
Turning around, she bent over to pick up the fried egg from the floor, raising her hand to toss it into the trash.
“Wait!”
The man called out in a low voice.
She stopped mid-action, taken aback.
The man hurried over, snatching the plate and egg from her hands.
“You…” Watching the man rinse the egg under the faucet, Gan Yuan was simply flabbergasted, “What…
what are you doing?”
