However, Yu Yao is his assistant, and she proactively donated her heart to him; one could say she’s Moses’s lifesaver. Doing sothing like this might be a bit unethical.
Jessica wants to help him but doesn’t know where to start, so she can only worry secretly.
After getting out of the car, Moses revealed an address.
"That’s..." Jessica asked curiously.
"Yu Yao’s ho." Moses leaned back against the chair, "I’ll go over and take a look."
Jessica glanced at the man’s expression quietly and then sighed inwardly.
He says he doesn’t care, but he still can’t let it go.
Oh!
Mr. Moses is the sa; why is his luck always so bad?
As the car approached the neighborhood where Yu Yao lived, Moses instructed the driver to stop the car and asked Jessica to buy so fruits and the like. Then the car drove through the neighborhood gate and, as instructed by Moses, stopped outside the door of Building 2.
The two got out of the car together, and Jessica helped him carry the fruits.
They went upstairs to the third floor, and Moses gently knocked on the door.
A mont later, the door opened, and Yu Yao, dressed in loose ho attire, stood inside the door. Seeing Moses and Jessica, she looked a bit surprised.
"Mr. Moses? Oh... please co in." She welcod them inside and then raised a hand to adjust her clothes, "I’m sorry, please have a seat, I... I’ll grab a jacket!"
With injuries on her body, it was inconvenient to wear inner clothes. While recuperating at ho, she had just thrown sothing on, which was a bit impolite.
Jessica put the fruit on the table and glanced around.
Seeing Yu Yao walk into the bedroom, she smiled at Moses.
"I left my phone in the car, you guys chat, I’ll go and get it."
Of course, it’s just an excuse to intentionally leave them alone for a while.
A mont later, Yu Yao ca out wearing a jacket and busied herself with making tea and pouring water, placing it on the coffee table.
"Where is Miss Jessica?"
"She went downstairs to get her phone." Moses took the tea she handed over, "No need to be busy, sit down!"
"Okay." Yu Yao sat on the small sofa, "Was this business trip smooth?"
"It went okay."
As the man held the cup, his gaze fell on her face, "Why didn’t you wait for to co back before getting discharged?"
Yu Yao smiled, "The doctor said there’s nothing serious, so I got discharged. I thought you were too busy with work, so there wasn’t a need."
Then, silence fell between the two.
Moses took a sip from his cup but couldn’t think of any good topics.
He’s not a man of words, especially in this situation, and on impulse, he wanted to check on her. Yet, upon seeing her, he didn’t know what to say.
He clearly wanted to give up this idea, but at the ntion of her from Jessica, he couldn’t resist.
Suddenly, he found himself sowhat angry.
It’s just a woman, is it that serious?
Setting down the cup, the man spoke deeply.
"I’m leaving."
Wanting to stay but not daring, Yu Yao hurriedly stood up to see him off.
"Let walk you out."
"No need."
"No problem."
And so, one walked in front, while the other walked behind, seeing him out.
Watching the man’s back, she found herself a bit lost.
With nothing much to do in the past few days, she thought of him every day, fearing that he wasn’t eating well, worried that his work wasn’t going smoothly...
The Moses ahead suddenly stopped. He initially intended to ask her not to see him off, not expecting Yu Yao to follow so closely. In the panic, unable to stop in ti, she stepped right in front of him.
The two almost collided; her face turned red, and she tried to back away, but her heel hit the steps, and she staggered backward, falling onto her seat.
She let out a low cry, and Moses stepped forward, grabbing her.
Startled, she raised her face, only to et his deep gaze fixed on her.
Her heart suddenly raced, as if under his spell; she froze, subconsciously pursing her lips.
The man’s fingers holding her arm suddenly tightened, and then the light before her eyes dimd again.
