Grasping her wrists, gently pressing them beside her head to prevent her from hurting her hands again, Abel unceremoniously claid her lips and tongue.

In this regard, Betty was certainly not his match. Add to that her frail body, lacking his strength, and after a brief struggle, all she could do was pant heavily and let him have his way.

After a long while, Abel finally lifted his face, breathing heavily.

He gently pecked her on the corner of her lips, slightly raised his face, and gazed at her, unusually deep and serious.

"Betty, now... do you believe ?"

Betty swallowed, silent.

Everything just now was a ruse, but his sadness, his tears were real.

She’d seen plenty of girls cry, but n crying, Betty hadn’t seen much, especially a man crying for her; it was the first ti she’d seen that.

To say she wasn’t touched, to say she wasn’t pleased... that would be a lie for sure.

But...

"Where did you go just now?" She pouted and asked.

Since he made vows to her last night, why did he leave early in the morning, did he really have to wait for her to beg him to co?

Guessing her little thoughts, Abel affectionately smiled and then reached into his pocket.

"Look at this and you’ll know..." Halfway through the sentence, he suddenly frowned, straightening up and reaching into his pocket, "Huh... where is it? I clearly put it in this pocket..."

He pulled his hand back, rummaged through several pockets inside and out, but still couldn’t find it.

"Damn, I must have misplaced it in my haste coming in." He looked at Betty with an apologetic expression, "Actually... I went to buy you sothing."

"Buy what?"

"Of course, it’s..." He stopped mid-sentence, "Never mind, I’ll buy it for you next ti."

Betty pouted, "Co on, stop lying!"

"I really wasn’t, if you don’t believe ..." Rembering sothing, Abel’s eyes lit up, "Wait for a mont."

With that, he turned and dashed out of the hospital room.

Betty was still in shock when he ca rushing back in from outside the door.

"Don’t get wrong, I’m not leaving, I just went downstairs to grab sothing."

Explaining briefly, Abel then turned and rushed out the door again.

Betty pouted at the door.

"Buying sothing? I don’t believe it!"

A mont passed.

Outside, footsteps could be heard again, and then, Abel pushed the door to the room open, carrying in a beautifully wrapped large gift box, walked up, and gently placed it in front of her.

"This... is for you."

Betty untied the ribbon, opened the box, and inside was a large bouquet of beautiful red roses.

Abel smiled beside her and said, "I bought this myself, it’s not from your family’s."

Previously, at the Grand Duchess’s residence, he had used the roses from their vase to make a gesture of offering, and she had teased him about it. This ti, he wanted to make it up to her with a sincere apology.

So, early in the morning, he went out to buy her flowers and gifts.

Fingers gently caressing the leaves of the roses in the box, Betty’s expression softened considerably.

"Betty!" Abel sat sideways beside her, holding her little hands with both of his, "Now... can you forgive ?"

Amusent sparkled in Betty’s eyes, but her mouth remained obstinate.

"That depends on... how well you perform!"

Abel lifted his right hand, speaking in a deep voice.

"I, Abel de Rost, solemnly swear to love only Betty from now on, not even glancing at any other won. From this mont on, I belong only to her!"

Last night, when she was drunk, he had made this vow; this ti, he repeated it, wanting her to hear it clearly while she was sober.
