Abel grabbed her, “How is Betty?”
“She’s undergoing ergency treatnt right now. If you don’t let go of , it will affect our rescue efforts!”
Abel hurriedly let her go, and the nurse rushed to the treatnt room to get dicine, then hurriedly returned and pushed open the ergency room door.
Worried about Betty in his heart, Abel followed and wanted to rush in too.
“Sir, you can’t go inside.”
“I’m begging you, let in. I promise I won’t interfere with your work. I just want to see her…”
The nurse frowned, pushed him away, and turned to run into the ergency room.
“Calm down, we will do our best!”
Abel was anxious like an ant on a hot pan, checking his watch and glancing toward the ergency room now and then, not knowing what to do.
This morning when he left, she was fine, but within less than three hours, how could this happen?
The assistant looked at him, her heart also tight with worry.
In the anxious wait of the two, the ergency room door finally opened.
Abel and his female assistant imdiately rushed over together.
“How’s Betty!”
“Yes, has Her Highness woken up?”
“Are you Mr. Abel?” The nurse gazed at Abel and asked.
Abel’s face lit up with joy, “Yes, I am. Has she woken up?”
The nurse nodded gently, “You can go in, she wants to see you.”
Noticing her profound expression, Abel glanced at the ward behind her, then pulled her aside.
“Is she… is she okay?”
“You’ll know once you go in.”
The nurse helped him push open the door, and Abel stepped into the ward, seeing Betty lying pale on the pillow, surrounded by doctors and nurses with crossed arms, none of them working.
Sothing seed off…
“Betty!” He quickly went to her side, holding her hand outside the blanket, “How… how are you?”
The doctor made a gentle gesture, and everyone stepped out together.
Noticing everyone’s actions, Abel frowned even more deeply.
“Betty?”
“Abel.” Betty gazed at his face, her voice sounding very weak, “Yesterday… it was really you… wasn’t it?”
“It was , Betty. I’m sorry.” Abel gripped her cold little hand tightly, “It was all my fault. I should have been with you the whole ti. Tell , you… you’re okay, right?”
Betty lightly lifted her lips.
“I’m afraid… I have to say… goodbye to you!”
Say goodbye?
Abel looked around again, seeing only a needle for IVs in her, nothing else, not even connected to a monitoring device. It seed like the doctors had given up on treatnt.
Could it be that she…
“No, it’s impossible! You must be joking. You won’t die, right, you little brat?”
Betty slowly lifted the corners of her lips, giving him a pale smile.
“Say sothing!” Abel frowned, prompting her.
“I’m sorry, Abel.” Betty took a labored breath, “Before…before I die, I… I just want to ask you one question. Do you… do you really love ?”
“Silly girl!” Abel felt his throat tighten, barely able to speak without choking, “Of course, I really love you. I admit, at first, it was just to win you over, but later… I… I don’t even know how… I can’t even believe myself, that I would like you, this little girl. I know, I’m not worthy… but I can’t control myself… Betty, promise , don’t leave . I… I won’t be able to handle it!”
