Raising his gaze, General Barton frowned and stared at the small red dot on the map representing the capital of F Country, a murderous intent tinged his eyes.

"Gan Yuan, I will make you pay! Soone co!"

A deputy general imdiately jogged in, "General?"

"Prepare a press conference at once."

"Yes!"

The deputy jogged away, and he walked out of the study, heading to the room at the end of the corridor.

Inside the room, the president’s wife was comforting their son, with the president beside them, his face full of worry.

Hearing the door open, the three of them were startled.

"What are you going to do?"

The president imdiately rushed over, shielding his wife and child.

General Barton jerked his chin, "Take the daughter and child away!"

A few guards imdiately stord over, nacingly pulling his wife and child. The president, without hesitation, dashed forward, pushing them away.

"Stop, let them go!"

But his two fists were no match for so many hands; how could he possibly stand against them? Despite the screams and cries of his wife and child, he could not stop them from being taken away. Chasing after them, he tried to protect the child, but a bodyguard pushed him down to the floor.

Helplessly watching the door close tightly before him, the president imdiately climbed up from the ground, rushing over to grab General Barton’s arm.

"I beg you, spare them... This has nothing to do with them. Whatever you want to do, co at !"

Imdiately, two bodyguards rushed over to pull him away.

"You don’t want them to die, do you?" General Barton turned his face, staring at the president. "Very simple, just help with one more thing, and I won’t harm them. I will even let you all leave the Northwest and grant you freedom!"

"What is it?" The president imdiately asked.

"It’s very simple." General Barton raised his hand, picking up a prepared speech. "At the upcoming press conference, just say what is written here. If you miss even one word, I’ll cut off one of their fingers, and if the fingers run out, then the toes... until they beco a pile of minced at."

Throwing the speech at the president, General Barton turned and walked out the door.

The bodyguards released him, and the president imdiately reached down to pick up the speech from the floor, furrowing his brow deeply at its contents.

This speech was nothing but a malicious attack on Gan Yuan, twisting facts to portray her as a national criminal. At the end of the speech, General Barton even ordered him to command a strike on the Central Region, targeting civilians!

General Barton simply wanted a pretext to open fire; once this speech was delivered, the president would beco a historical sinner.

On one side was the life of his wife and child, on the other were innocent civilians; how could he choose?

The president squatted down, weakly holding his head, grabbing his hair tightly, his face full of pain.

Before long, he slowly stood up, raising his pale and haggard face.

"I want to see General Barton."

The two bodyguards looked at him indifferently.

Straightening his back, the president heavily threw the speech in his hand to the ground, shouting angrily.

"I want to see General Barton, didn’t you hear ? Go tell him imdiately that if he doesn’t co to see , he can forget about attending the press conference!"

From his body emanated a rare display of assertiveness over the past few days.
